I was watching Midsomer Murders last night though and thinking what a shame Meghan didn't go with the Queen's suggestion to continue acting. She'd have been well liked as a cameo performer in shows like Coronation Street and it would have been such good PR for the family and British arts in general. I wonder why Harry and Meghan were allowed a church wedding at all. Charles and Camilla had to have a civil ceremony with church blessing to follow because Camilla's former husband was still alive, as I understood it at the time.
Harry wanted the same as his brother and Meghan wanted the same as Diana. She watched the video of Diana's wedding when she was young. However they didn't get Westminster Abbey or St Paul's Cathedral as I understand Harry asked for. The Queen as Head of the Church of England had to sanction the church wedding. I thought I was the only one who saw it as weird that a woman walked in a WHITE wedding gown, when in fact she was a divorcee. Also, to see Prince Charles walk her down the aisle was a really noble gesture on his part, but it felt strange to see the bride didn't care to have anyone from her side of the family to represent her. It just goes to show she has no respect for her own family. Let's say she didn't want her own father to walk her down the aisle (because according to her, he had caused her an embarrassment 🙄, when in fact her antiques caused him a heart attack) - having put all that aside, surely she could still call her uncle from her mother's side to do so, but she chose NOT to pick anyone from her mother's side of the family either (while inviting all the Hollywood A-list, who does NOT even know her, to the wedding). I also have made this point several times. I find it hard to believe that NO ONE in the RF didn't realize that Harry had emotional and mental problems LONG before Megan arrived. Harry should never have been put in as a full working royal. NEVER. He does not have the emotional or mental stability to handle the stress of the "fishbowl" of working royal life. He needs a protected, managed environment. The RF should have found him a working ranch he could "run" somewhere, complete with a ranch manager and a fleet of ATVs he could race around. Some local girl would have married him eventually, but he would not have been such a juicy target if he were not a working royal, and thus in the Line of Succession. Harry has some kind of mental issue, maybe on autism spectrum, maybe a personality disorder, who knows? Not working royal material. I have suggested this debacle shows the palace needs to modernize the gifting (and removal) of titles. A family member could have an "apprenticeship" of doing lower-level duties. If they marry, they have an "apprenticeship" as a working royal couple. If they fit into the current core of working royals (after this trial period), THEN they are granted a title and full role. If they don't fulfill this role, disgrace it, or simply decide they don't like the job, the title goes back to the crown. There was NO REASON to create this position of power for H and M to abuse. If this procedure of granting titles was in place before Megan arrived, she also could not have claimed racism. Also, Harry would not have been a working royal, so the whole point would have been moot. Megan would have had a smaller wedding and not done royal duties, so her exit from the monarchy would not be the kerfuffle it is now. Basically, the palace handed her this disruptor role on a silver platter. IMO.

It has been told that EvilMeg switch her dress at last minute , it was not the one the Queen approved. I think that is why her dress was not fit it and looks distasteful.

I’m not sure what the Queen said regarding the colour of the dress but as a 2nd marriage I do not believe it was necessary to have such an extravagant Wedding at the public’s expense. I believe that was the Queens issue. It was certainly mine. The colour of a Wedding dress in this day and age means nothing. Is up to the Bride.

The Queen wanted a smaller wedding, like Charles and Camilla had, with a simpler wedding dress. She was very much against the veil, she thought it was very inappropriate for a bride to wear one (let alone one that big) on a third wedding. Harry and MM wanted the big wedding and Charles convinced the Queen that, given their popularity, it would be good for the RF.

The late Queen didn't look pleased at any point during Harry /Meghan's wedding. Given her respect for tradition and the multiple departures from tradition in that ceremony, I can understand why she appeared displeased. I expect that the ceremony was the most public display but, hardly the only display of Harry/Meghan's disrespect for tradition and, IMO, disrespect for the late Queen. I suspect there was something fishy going on behind the scenes for the late Queen to have tolerated Harry/Meghan's behavior for as long as she did.

Meghan wasn’t on bad terms with her whole Markle family at the time of her wedding to Prince Harry- she had cut them off from attending without explanation to them - she not only cut off her Markle side of the family but also the Raglan side except her mother - both sides are still cut off all these years later 🤔

Nowadays, the mother can also lead the bride to the altar. It has to be a senior member of the family. The tradition comes from a time long ago when women always had a guardian and were not free, couldn't vote, and so on. The father handed over guardianship to the husband. The groom was never guided by his mother. I, as a feminist, would have picked my mother. Unfortunately, Meg is anything but that.
