These are my favourite moments from darts, when they go an unorthodox checkout or exhibition way. You could probably make a part 2, I know a few others. Jamie Caven hit a 158 T19 T17 Bull from what I remember, there's also lots of exhibition 129 checkouts going D16 D20 or D18 D18 and Jan Dekker hit a 148 going T19 T19 D17, loads more I've missed I know, but great video

It's the only 122 out I've ever seen closed T18 D18 D16. Double double finishes are always unconventional ways to go (except for tops tops from 80, which many players tend to do)

It's not the best way, if you miss outside the board with the second dart, you're wasting the third dart which could have been at the bullseye even if you hit the single 18, the biggest targets on the board.

Bull Tops makes far more sense. I guess that if your opponent is on a low finish, you have to hit both anyway so leaving 25 isn't a big deal.
