I think it would make more sense to show your hand motion than your face during flight.
I agree.
Thanks for the tip. Next time.
😂 for sure
I was watching the video and waiting for the hand motion to know what’s going on 🤦🏻♂️
That's what exactly I thought
Great job!!! Very helpful to get to know the Motion Controller 2. The run down the river and up the railroad tracks was incredible!
I remember when I first flew my DJI FPV with the motion controller 1 (was a gift), and thought it'd be a little gimmick I rarely use... However it's now my primary way I fly, it's just so fun. I'm looking forward to getting v2 as reverse and strafing would be very enjoyable extras. Thanks for the video.
Okay Billy, Thanks for the review on the controller 2. But I think there’s one important aspect of this system you’re not touching on and I think that’s a big disservice. The head tilt function is huge and one of the best features of this system. Think about it. Apart from racing…where your heading is fixed because of your focus on what you’re doing. But in real life, whether you’re driving a car, boat, airplane or even just walking, we all pick a direction or heading… say with the steering wheel and hold it, then we have the freedom to look around. Whether it be to anticipate a turn and do a shoulder check, to enjoy the view to the right, left, up or down without changing our heading. That’s huge! This is what we do in real life, every day. Why would you pass over this great feature? You could look up before you ascend to make sure there is nothing overhead. You could look to the right before committing to a turn so there are no surprises. Then just practice following your direction with head tilt. Follow the little circle. It’s not rocket science. Get used to initiating a turn with the joystick and follow through with your head tracking. Guys who don’t use this feature or don’t think it’s for them, really haven’t given this much thought. Have a good one.
Thanks Billy for this video as I have been flying non stop practicing on the controller 2 but also want to try the manual mode, been a week so far and I am addicted to this drone!
imagine doing a motion controller review and not showing the controller in flight
Nice job🎉 Getting mine tomorrow. With controller too!!
Just got the Avata after flying regular drones for 5+ years. Never thought I'd get an FPV drone. Glad I did. Really enjoying it along with the new motion controlller.
Thanks for the intro to the motion controller 2. I ordered one, taking advantage of the DJI coupon but haven't had a chance to try it. Your intro video is great for explaining new capabilities.
Cool! Have fun with it!
Info on Changing the rates on the joystick is very useful Info. Really opens up what it can do. Just got the Avata with the motion controller 2 and love it. Only complaint I had was the joystick was too slow. Looking forward to using that in my next flight. I also have the controller 2 and love that I can fly manual but the motion controller 2 makes it so easy to use without needing much practice to get good.
Good stuff! Thanks for making this video. DJI does it again! Good work. 😀
Thanks for watching!
As always...informative ...thanks again !!
I just got the avata with the 2nd generation motion controller and i was almost scared to fly FPV. But after using that controller i would say that I'm hooked! It's just so much fun and as you said, very intuitive. I've used the reverse many times to get myself reoriented so I'm glad that's an option! Nice review Billy!
It's a lot of fun to fly! Have fun with it!
Same I just got it too!!!
Im waiting on delivery of my Avata. Ive been flying phantoms and mavics for years and I know this is completely different. How long does it take to get the hang of it with this new motion controller? I ordered both controllers! Thanks :)
@@47MTCLLC it takes a matter of seconds. I had my friend fly it as his first drone flight ever and was in sport mode in a few minutes
And where did you change the speed. In the app? Thanks!!
Hey billy great video as usual. I was wondering how one learns the perspective of distance between object and drone? Cheers
The Avata and motion controller are taking over the drone world! 🤣 Great review Bill!
It’s too fun not to take it over 😎
Another great tutorial, Billy! Can you talk about the ability for the new controller to strafe... Or focus on a POI while orbiting? You also mentioned that you would not use this setup for your most cinematic capture. However, upon getting very used to the controls, it would be very possible to slow down a bit and capture something beautiful, correct?
Now I’m starting to get interested in the Avata. Nice first look at the new RC Motion 2, it seems like a solid upgrade. Great video, thanks for sharing.
You really need to get one Ron they are just so much fun to fly..pretty tough cookies too.
I've never been an FPV guy, I have multiple camera drones. Bought the Avata and I love it. Got an extra set of goggles so my autistic son can experience the flights with me. He loves it too. Debating buying the motion 2 controller but see where it's better,
Thanks for the demo Billy just got the MC2 and it really does have some great new additions over the original one.
Cool! Have fun!
Hey Billy thanks for the info on the MC2 I bought one to try out.
Great how to video Billy. I kept trying to link my original motion controller with the Mini 4 pro and finally figured out I had to get the motion controller 2. Now have and yes I think it is worth it. One question, when you are flying what setting are you running. My video seems to always come out jerky not smooth. Suggestions Dave..
Billy, thanks for the great review of the Motion 2; mine arrived at home while I was at the Florida meetup. Going to take the maiden flight with the Motion 2 this afternoon. I love flying the Avata with the MC; I’ve been flying it with the V2 Goggles; I just ordered the Integra, to be delivered this week. Have fun; hope to fly with you when your in Dallas sometime.
Sweet! Have fun with it. Next time I’m in town let’s fly 😎
Another killer vid Billy K!
Thanks Sammy
Loved the informative video. Thanks! I'm a new drone owner so this is a dumb question: Do I need to use the goggles to be able to use this motion controller?
if i set avata on manual mode, and something goes wrong, will the “brake” button work?
Can you change the joystick input speed?
With how many DJI drons it's compatible?
Your opinion if you were buying a mini pro 4 would you spend the extra money to buy the motion controller two? It already comes with an RC pro. Thanks! Appreciate your video.
I've not used my Motion Controller 2 yet, but the ability to go into reverse and the easier landing is what I'm looking most forward too. I am putting together videos of covered bridges, and sometimes I've gotten into a tight situation where there isn't much room to turn around to get out of the tighter areas, so the ability to go in reverse, I'm hoping, is going to make that part a little easier. And the landing using the joystick I think will make it much easier. Great video Billy!
Cool! Sounds like this will be helpful.
It is really easy on the trigger to go into reverse and certainly very easy to land, or grab and turn him around when near you, also awesome to update home each time you start again!
Thanks Billy for this review. I still don't own the Avata, although I want it badly, I was able to fly one yesterday with Rod of HotRod In Daytona at the Pier in Daytona. That was my first time flying the Avata and always thought the motion controller was a gimmick of sorts but I was pleasantly surprised in how quickly I was flying and threading the needle of some close palm trees. I had a blast and this newer motion controller looks like it has some very nice additional features that might be of interest to some. Maybe one day I can grow up and own the Avata but for now I still love my Air 2S and my Mini 3 Pro w/RC. Peace Y'all!
Cool! I think the motion controller is a lot of fun too. Pleasantly surprised.
Can you fly forward and at the same time use the joystick to move up? Kinda of simulating what you would do with a regular FPV controller by increasing thrust while maintaining same angle
Hi! With the new controller, can you "rotate" sideways, circleing an orbject easy?
Does the joystick control sorta defeat the purpose of the motion controller? Makes it more like a regular controller.
Great vid ... except, since I've never used it, it would be great to see how you are moving the controller in relation to the movement of the drone.
Thanks for this. How do I link the new motion controller 2 to my Avata and virtual flying app. It doesn’t seem to connect.
My wife just got this for me for my birthday. I can't wait to try it out. I'm newbie so simulation first.
I really like your videos. The 1st one when you crashed your Avata in Nevada was awesome……after seeing the crashworthiness I bought one. I actually enjoy it much more that the FPV because of that. I upgraded and used my MC2 for 1st time today and it was awesome. This is my 14th DJI drone since my 1st gen Phantom…… I understand why they dont put a 3 axis gimbal on this one, but it sure would be nice to have an option. BTW, your demo location is just awesome!
Thanks so much! That video was kinda fun to make… when I lost the drone 😬
Can i use the joystick and accellerate at the same time?
The biggest advantage of the joystick is the ability to circle your subject which wasn't possible with the first motion controller. The move is not as intuitive as flying straight because you're sliding the opposite direction as you're turning, but still easier than mastering full manual controls.
Exactly!
Interesting! Never thought of that!
Hi Billy, I would like to ask you something ...I'm a little rusty, for the past year, I haven't done anything with my drones. So, I'm too lazy to look for the correct information. I have a DJI FPV drone ... very happy with the little beast! Is MC2 compatible with DJI FPV drone?
Thanks billy for sharing listen I like my avata and my motion controller 2 lots fun to fly love it people have to experience this and I also love my Maverick 3 awsome drone also and my mini 2 love Dji products 💯💯👍
Hi fans✌️ congratulations I have some winning package 🎁🎁🎁 Kindly Telegram me to claim your package box.......🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi billy what’s up I won some thing ?
Telegram me top
This is spam, don't do it
Got you billy I won’t trust me
You think we can link this motion controller2 to the DJI FPV?
Hello, I'm interested in knowing how it was that you configured the Fpv drone in RC Motion 2 control. I've tried and they don't want to link
Are their any options to adjust the sensitivity of the controller??
Sorry if i missed this, with the motion controller the avata is still limited in performance, like full sport is not possible? For the fpv, same question..If so, that would be a disappointment
Thanks for the review ... just got MC 2, will explore it soon ... would love to see how to do Orbit with this MC2 ... Regards from Jakarta, Indonesia
Cool! Awesome remote, have fun
Good review Billy.
Thank you!
Hi, great video really interesting. I have a quick question do you think the FOV old version 2 goggles is more immersive than new integra goggles?did you ever have any issue with blurring in the version 2? I'm looking to buy one of the new avata sets but not sure if to buy the version 2? Any advice would be great appreciated 😊
No issue on the Integra. I’ll have a video soon comparing them.
@@billykyle hi, fabulous I'll keep my eye out for that ! Keep up the good work 👍😊
hi thanks for the review. this is very helpful. I just wonder how did you not have the power cable for the goggle? did they integrate the battery into it?
Yeah battery is in the goggles
Is motion controller 2 is compatible with dji goggles V2 with dji fpv?
You know I am still truly just a beginner but I love this Hobby when I have time to fly and in a place to use it😊😊
Have fun!
The new controller is awesome!!
It’s fun 🙌🏼
Really nice!!!
You want one?
@@billykyle Yes, one of my best friends is sending me one...
Nice video
Thanks!
Can you do flips?
Was debating, but now will get it since DJI sent a nice discount code for those of us who have it with the original Avata pkg.
Nice!
Awesome video Billy will you be doing a comparison video of the integra Goggles to the goggles 2 ?
Yeah! This week!
Hey I noticed that when you were under the bridge the altitude read at -67ft. Is that from your take off/home point?
Yeah, so I flew down below where I took off from.
Excellent 🔄⭕🔄
Thank you!
I didn't realise there were no rules when flying a FPV drone. Sweet!
That joystick on the new controller seems nice. Might get an upgrade just because of it.
Yeah it’s cool.
Hi. Great video. If I could come with a future request, that must be that the right down camera show how you use the controller in situations that are new from the existing version 1 motion controller. It much easier too see what you actually do instead of you describing it. Otherwise a great video as always. 👍
Good idea, thanks!
Considering the purpose and industry services that I have in mind the Avata's features suit perfectly despite its inability to operate at higher motion of speeds when compared to other DJI models. I do have a question for those of you and / or Billy Kyle, who currently fly the Avata and have upgraded to the recently released Motion Controller 2 RC. Does it work with flight simulators that are currently on the market?
Haven’t tried the flights sims - I would imagine compatibility is coming if not already here.
Can someone please help me out i cant figure this out i googled but nothing .i just bought a avata drone but when i put the goggels on the image when i zoom in 100% is still small and it isnt full screen there are black borders around it is this normal dous evryone have this or is it just me .
Hey is this 2nd iteration going to allow for more acrobatic shots and maneuvering?
Not really. Just better finite control.
In your opinion (Billy Kyle or anyone with experience), which device gives you the best control of the aircraft, the motion controller 2, or the FPV RC 2? I'd like to make real estate videos, flying it inside of houses, and need to have close control of the aircraft.
hey Billy A question: to fly the avatar in the United States do you still have to connect the cell phone for it to take off ?? because of the remote ID
If you use the Goggles 2, yes. If you use the Goggles Integra, no.
@@billykyle sorry Billy , I'm new to this subject but the goggles integrates is gogglesv2(old) or goggles2(new)
@@billykyle I would like to sell or exchange my mini3 pro for the avata (I think the flying style of the avata is very beautiful)
Billy, what goggle set up do you prefer the DJI Integra goggles or the Dji goggles? It is confusing Thanks
I mean goggles 2
Integra
@@billykyle Why is the integra cheaper?
Hey Billy I had a quick question for ya. Doss your avata continue to drift up or down long after you use the joystick? Mine acts like it is on ice and being pushed and continues to slide up or down metaphorically speaking. And please if you know how I can fix this so that when I stop pressing up or down on the stick the drone will immediately follow suit and not continue to drift an additional 3 to 4 feet past where I intended to stop. I changed the values to greater cause the default was way too slow. I can't find anything on the net cause it is new and am lost.
Sorry Billy never commented back on this issue. He usually comments everyone back. Have you tried re calibration on the GPS?
@Flyin Eye Aerial & FPV yeah I have. I set the values higher cause the default was so slow. I just have issues with it drifting a long ways after I let off. There isn't any options to correct it. Didn't know if mine was messed up. Dji didn't understand what I was asking haha. Anyways ty
@@anthonysmith9864 ok did you try to a recalibration on the gyro?
Yeah I did all the calibrations I could. It flies fine but only with the joystick going either up or down it continues to drift an additional approximate 6 feet after I let off the joystick. So say if I am using the stick on the motion controller to lower down to or up to something, it will continue in that direction a while after I let off the stick and makes me nervous it will crash. It isn't wind or any external factor.
@@anthonysmith9864 yea that sounds like a problem with djis equipment. Only other thing is firmware all being up to date in all pcs of equipment in the equation. Good luck figuring it out and I do hope that you do not crash your drone because of this issue. If you have e sufficient amount of satellites there should be no drifting sideways which you stated that your drift is more a throttle up or down situation 🤔. I don't use the motion controller so my thoughts are it may be something to do with that motion controller. Lmk if you figure this out.
Why did they make the MC only for standard and Sport mode? Is there any valid reason it couldn't be used in manual mode as well? Thanks, I just received my MC 2 yesterday!
It would be too difficult to control, I think.
@@billykyle I was thinking it could be easier! It already coordinates the flight dynamics in a way that seems far easier then manual inputs to joy sticks... It could help prevent moves that could otherwise cause crashes... it's all "fly by wire"
my joystick isn't working for some reason, any has had that happen to them?
Can I use motion control with mini 3 pro with display Rc,, without using Goggles?
No, you need to use the goggles.
Think it will be compatible with the original DJI FPV drone? I like flying with the motion controller better than the reg rc controller nice vid your brave flying over water sir ✌️
I hope
Great video but yes it's good to see your hand.
Good idea
cant do setting for flight mode speed
I'd be more impressed with the joystick if DJI would upgrade the speed when using the Motion Controller. I don't really care much about reverse to buy a 2nd joystick, because like you said it opens you up to running into junk because you cannot see behind you. I'd use the motion controller more if I could actually do side rolls with it. I don't think I'd focus on front and back rolls since the Avata has a very hard time with prop wash on those maneuvers. Like Ken Heron says, "Nothing Beat Manual Mode Fun!"
Yeah that is definitely the best.
One Question: The requirement that you have to have visual contact with the drone at all times, so, explain please?
Explain what?
DJI Motion Controller 2 compatible with mini 4 pro? What DJI goggles are compatible with the mini pro 4?
With the last firmware update, the Motion Controler 2 is compatible with Mini 4 pro. I don't know for goggles.
This controller is such an improvement! Do you see them making this drone compatible with future Mavic releases like the air 3 ?
Maybe. I'm not sure about a Mavic Air 3 though. I feel like the Mavic 3 Classic fills that gap.
Sometimes my avata isn't hitting the 32mph it normally hits, it'll hit 22mph then slowly go to 32mph. I'll stop then give full throttle again and it'll hit 32mph almost instantly, I'll stop and do it again and only hit 22, on and on it repeats. think it can be the MC 2? There no wind or anything, even when there is wind I normally get to 32mph almost instantly. My avata is only 20 days old.
Does this new controller allow you to do the classic FPV dive?
No
@@billykyle do you ever foresee that feature coming to a motion controller? I appreciate the feedback!
Im looking fwd to dji fpv 2
Me too 👀
I noticed you didn’t have your goggles hooked up to a cell phone while flying? I sent the first model back because the cord for the battery and the cord for the phone were just ridiculous. You’re really free flying here. Is it true?
Yeah no wire needed.
When does your Inspire 3 video come out?
Just dropped a first impressions. I don’t have the drone
Can you dive with this controller and Avata?
Nah
i agree. the motion controller is built for fun while the RC 2 controller has more options as far as control is concerned. That said... i purchased both with my DJI air 3. Happy flying!!
You are The Man!!!
Thanks Ray 😎
First of all, what are you doing at home? 🤣🤣 Been flying my new Avata Explorer bundle now for about a week. I bound the RC from the DJI FPV to work with the Avata. I've tried twice with the Motion Controller, but I chicken and get too nervous, feeling like I don't have as much control. But watching how you follow the reticle, I'm gonna try it again. BTW, have you noticed the glaring issue with the Integra goggles yet?
LOL. Wait, I haven’t seen the issue. What’s wrong with them?
@@billykyle DJI advertises this as the "Explorer" bundle for FPV beginners. Well, as a beginner, you might not want or need to fly more than the 3 batteries it comes with. And if you do, say, want to fly 5-6 batteries, you wont be able to. Because you will need to stop and re-charge the Integra goggles. With the other DJI goggles (FPV & V.2) you can just attach a new battery to the power cord that plugs into the goggles and go. No way to do that with the Integra model.
How does this work with the DJI FPV?
It doesn’t
How does it compare to the DJI Remote Controller 2 ?
What controller?
How are you flying without your phone plugged in for remote ID? Isn’t that a thing?
The new Goggles Integra have a GPS built in. No need to plug in your phone.
How do you like the Integra compared to Goggle 2?
I like them better.
Was hoping you would show How to orbit with it!
Sorry about that
Damn you made me nervous with how close you get........lol
Does the Motion 2 work with the original FPV Potato?
Lol. No
@@billykyle If anybody would have told me I'd own 2 'Pickles"...
😅 Great. Will it work with Avata and Goggles v2?
Yes
@@billykyle I worried because I have the Goggles V2 and I bought an RC Motion 2...but it hasn't arrived yet. I haven't seen any channels showing the Goggles V2 + RC Motion 2 yet. TRANSLATE Me preocupei pois tenho o Goggles V2 e comprei um RC Motion 2...mas ainda não chegou. Ainda não vi nenhum canal mostrando o Goggles V2 + RC Motion 2.
You should show the way you use the motion controller i the Down right picture instead of talking about how you use it. Think that will give people more of a understanding on how you control it. Me personally that got the first version would love too see the different. Otherwise a great video. 8:46
Thanks for the tip
Perfect upgrade. I also reviewed rc motion 2. Avata can make orbits with rcm2 now
Sweet! I will check it out.
Perfect , I like turkish kebab thanks man 👍
Can they be used left-handed?
Yeah you could use either hand
The Avata is just too loud to fly in most areas. I primarily use the fpv controller anyway. Thanks for the review but I'll stick with a true controller.
It is kinda loud.
