  • As a truck driver, I used to drive through here very often, day, night, winter, summer... you name it. I want to go back and take my time to really enjoy the scenery. I remember one time driving at night with a full moon in winter, what a beautiful night that was, that memory will stay with me forever. Thanks for sharing your video.

The big disadvantage of this is that the national socialist parties are becoming more popular. We just have to wait for the next elections, but this is a big crisis at the moment and there will be a change.

    • Route 50, then across the great Smokey Valley through Beaty to Vegas. You for sure will need extra gas. Another side track that is awesome for a bike is just inside Utah on the west side. Route 11. The old and winding road. It crosses the states. I have discovered many forgotten roads in my many trips back and forth across our beautiful country. I even discovered Walmart country market at the beginning of 11. It is like a convenient mart. Slept there for a few hours on a couple of trips

  • US-50 is known as the Lonliest Road in America because the July 1986 edition of Time Magazine called it so, and the state of Nevada quickly made that the nickname of the highway for publicity and tourism.

    • Yes, but if you've ever driven on it, and I have, you do find it to be very sparsely populated with very few vehicles outside of the few towns and cities along the way. Basically you have Ely (pop 4000) the largest city along 50 in Neveda until you get to Fallon (pop 8500). Eureka has about 600 and Austin has about 200 and that's about it. So from the border with Utah until Fallon there are four towns/cities with populations of 4000, 600, 200 and 8500 in about 320 miles.

      @virvisquevir3320@virvisquevir33206 жыл бұрын
    • @R Duran Well, then you are one of the few. Driving truck I saw just about everything from my 'perch' up high. They all drive down the interstate at 80 MPH reading a book or newspaper, working on a laptop computer, watching a movie on a 7" DVD player sitting on the dash, eating a meal with knife and fork, texting of course but with a mount attached to the steering wheel so they didn't have to 'hold' the phone, changing clothes, putting on make-up, and the assorted sexual experiences of guys jacking-off, women driving naked with their tinted windows up but the sun roof open, etc. etc. etc......... The best one was a guy out in Kalifornia running down a half mile entrance ramp with a notebook computer on his lap typing with one hand while drinking his coffee and eating his breakfast with the other doing 45 MPH the whole time. And of course, he expected me to slow down and let him in after running the entire length of the ramp without speeding up..... NOT. First and LAST time I ever accepted a load going to that state. Most of the drivers out there are nuts. They remind me of my brother-in-law that thinks driving is a waste of his time, so he thinks about everything except driving. Maybe that's why he had three at fault accidents in three weeks time???!!! Do not know how he ever managed to keep his insurance, but it must have cost him a mint. And not just car drivers either anymore... the 'new breed' of truck drivers, the 'steering wheel holders' as we called them, are just as bad as the car drivers. The only difference is, their 'car' weighs 80,000 pounds.

  • Great video, thanks! In 2006 My wife and I rode our HD Ultra on a fantastic 10,000 mile ride from D.C. to British Columbia and returned via the PCH and below SF we turned east to get onto US 50. Eureka, I remember it well...we spent the night at the Best Western there and I woke up at 4:30 with kidney stones! We got on the road and I kept pounding down the water and stopped often to get rid of it. A Nevada Trooper pulled up when we were somewhere in the Basin and he said there wasn't a hospital for hundreds of miles in any direction but he offered to bring in a helicopter to fly me out, "But the bike has to stay." I thanked him anyway but we pushed on...finally got rid of the stones in Tennessee. We still had the time of our lives on that trip...with a total of 1 1/2 hour of rain for the 7 1/2 weeks. Amazing! Thanks again for the memories!

In a Mustang. 4 days of pure scenery and loneliness and although it was... kind of repetitive, it never got boring or dull. Sounds weird, but then again we don't have this kind of road in Germany. • My Timing Belt BROKE On Me On I-40 In ARIZONA (Another Great State For Lonely Highways!) Inbetween ASH FORK And WILLIAMS!! Good Thing My GEO METRO 3 Cylinder Is Non-Interference. That Stretch Of I-40 Arizona, There's NOTHING THERE!! Luckily I Had Minutes On My POS Cellphone And Called AAA And It STILL TOOK OVER 3 AND A HALF HOURS For Them To Come Rescue Me. Yep, If You Don't Have A Sound Car, And If You Break Down YES YOU ARE DOOMED! I Also Had My DISTRIBUTOR SPLIT IN HALF On Me In My GEO METRO On US 97 About 3 Miles North Of SHANIKO OREGON!!! I Had To SLEEP IN MY CAR ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY!!! TALK ABOUT ONE SCARY NIGHT!! OF WHICH I'LL NEVER EVER FORGET!!!

  • This landscape reminds me of the desert areas of west Texas that I have driven through along US Hwy 90 between Del Rio and Sanderson. Incredible landscape.

  • Hello everyone! Thank you for watching this and making this my most popular video ever. An updated version of this will be released in November. But if you become a patreon member at Patreon.com/InterstateKyle you can see the newer version, a 23 minute long video covering 125 miles along this route earlier than November. Thanks everyone for everyone for watching and being patient for 7 years to see the updated version. Stay tuned...

    • Why don't you film the drive from jackpot to to wells. I go to elko a couple times a year and I really enjoyed this stretch of roads. You ever thought of filming the drive from Wells to Angel Lake? This is an interesting drive.

  • Great video. I like the commentary. This stretch of road is one of my favorites. Another bit of trivia; commercial trucks are not allowed on US 50 in this area without a permit. Basically, only trucks serving this area are allowed - commercial thru traffic must take other routes.

  • Drove 50 from Ocean City MD to Sacramento CA in a Porsche convertible a few years ago. Arriving in Sacramento my first thought was wish I could turn it around and do the whole thing again in reverse. Even now viewing this video brings up my heart rate. Nirvana. Go for it EurocorpFx

  • Thank you so much for the video Kyle. It answered a question for my wife and I. This video is where they, TV SHOW RV, gets one of their scenes. I was wrong on the highway number. I was thinking it was US 66, but this video proves it is US 50. Don't know why, but I'd like to see it in person. I saw a few pieces of green, but not many. The place sorta reminds me of Co. in a way. To make a living you have to work for the fed, state, city or sell tourist things like gas. It does have its own special beauty.

  • I was on this road on my 88 Yamaha Venture in 2016 and there are salt flats that pass by the roads. I actually road my bike through the ditch and rode along the highway on the saltflat for a mile or so! Great fun!

  • I drove it east in 2012 a few days after new years day. It was just below zero with snow on the ground. No phone, radio or traffic. Just me listening to my truck engine praying that it wouldn't break down! I felt like the last human on earth!

  • Lambs are impressed with how beautiful this drive is. And we would probably hang out in the 7,000' range too just for the cooler air, which is better for us because of our wool.

  • I've done this drive, it's pretty remote, but if you want REAL space, try driving through the Australian outback - especially Western Australia, then you'll really appreciate the meaning of the word isolation!
