    • There is some "non brush gel" that you can put on your finger (or on a cleaning teeth napkin, special for dogs/cats), that you could rob on their teeth. First, front teeth, then, in time, you could try the side of its mouth. Or, you could try matatabi sticks.

  • I love how you do not force him! 😇😻 I believe his teeth look very good…animals get a bit of build up but I think with age it is ok and so much of the kitty food (at least in USA) is full of crazy things that a cat in the wild would never eat! (Which over time probably causes most of the plaque) He has been through emergency surgery and is looking great 👏🏽 Better to have happy Pusic than scared of scrubbing teeth! 🙀 You are an awesome family😻🙌🏽🥰 Thank you 🙏🏽 😊 for all your videos.

  • Always love how many other videos about brushing cat teeth make it seem so easy. Cats sit calmly and the person just uses one hand to tilt the cat's head and open the lips, then uses the other hand to brush. Certainly if it's possible, do it. IF one were to start when the cat is a kitten and did it consistently, some might accept it. Trying to start with an adult cat? HAH! Thank you for showing this. Our vet in the past has encouraged brushing their teeth, esp for a few who seem to get so bad they need a vet cleaning every year instead of once in a while. The issues are: 1) Most of the cats in my care would fight this, tooth and nail! Pusic is relatively well-behaved, used to a lot of handling, but even he was balking. 2) Even trying to do this once/week would be a challenge due to having many cats here. Already my days revolve around feeding (mostly home-made/raw now, requiring 5 meals/day), scooping litter, disposing of cans (thankfully reduced by transition to mostly non-can food and NO dry food for many years now) and litter disposal (corn-based bio-degradable, have a few acres, so it's pitched - not dumped in once place because it will build up, not break down, and usually a few rain storms take care of it.) 3) Every time a vet suggests it, my response is until I can grow AT LEAST 2 more arms or even more, like that Indian god Vishnu, it isn't happening. I was PLEASED to see in one part of your video 2 hands were holding Pusic (presumably dad) and trying to pry open his mouth while another hand (presumably mom) tried to use the brush. Even with TWO people working together with a relatively calm, easy going cat used to being "handled" it wasn't happening!! Even much simpler tasks like nail trim, ear cleaning or sometimes cleaning the butt area of a long hair girl, I have to resort to a grooming bag. Just last night I gathered a bag of cotton balls, ear cleaning stuff and the grooming bag, Eddie took off running and tried his best to avoid me! He KNEW it was for him, even though I had made no move towards him before he bolted. Go figure. Cats are NOT stupid... As much as it stinks to have to resort to anesthesia and paying the vet to clean the teeth, IT IS IMPORTANT. Dental disease in cats can cause lots of expensive or deadly medical issues if left untreated. IF you can brush, it will help. But many times the tartar and calculus is so built up, brushing alone won't take it off, especially the side of the teeth inside the mouth - most brushing tackles the outside of the teeth. BTW dry food, no matter what the marketing says, does NOT clean your cat's teeth.

  • Well, that one side got brushed...and you still have all the skin on your hands and arms. I would call that a win!! 😂❤ If we EVER tried to do this to any of our cats, we'd be scratched to ribbons, and all for nothing, because we would never get that toothbrush anywhere near their teeth. 😂

  • I started brushing our cats teeth when he was nine years. It took a long time to find the right way! But for us, this worked: sit behind your cat with him between your legs, so he can't back away. Of course, no force, and pet him❤ this way you can lift his lip with and get access to the teeth. I used a finger stocking. It's most important to clean the big teeth in the back upside. It really makes such a great difference keeping the cats teeth clean. Having the vet take care of it is terrible and often result in have teeth removed. Good luck😊😊😊

  • My Tuxedo cat just came up to me while I was watching, (and chuckling over the attempt to brush Pusic's teeth), and I asked my tuxie Buddy, if he would like his teeth brushed too? He immediately answered a big, loud squawk that was definitely a "NO!" 😂
