  • Nice but I prefer less is more. No need to over complicate things. Couple wooden dowels would ave worked as well and much quicker

  • The REALLY tricky bit edited out: how the angled face was cut in the narrowed length of the slot. The slot is shown being chiselled out at right angles, at a width that would allow the narrow neck of the wedged locking block to slide through. But bottom of the slot must be as wide as the head of the locking block, so the sides of the slot are at the same angle as the locking block wedge. Mmmm ... Confucius say "Picture speak a thousand words..."

  • Another day with grandfather with the Wabi-sabi hands. I was born and raised in Alaska. My friends grandma use to watch us when I was young. She was an Alskan native lady that wasn't much bigger than we were really. You could tell at sometime in the past she had been substantial but time was taking her a piece at a time. Her body got smaller and her skin shrunk around the ever dwindling contents of the woman. Time seemed to take the bad times from her She was kind, free with her laughter, and could find the good in satan himself. Not to say she put up with us being bad but, she knew we were good even when into mischief. She was my first human wabi-sabi love. In the lines of that womans face I saw beauty, strength and wisdom. I carry a piece of that woman everyday of my life. She is part of who I have become. Because of that she will live on through me, because I passed on what she gave me. I adore your work grandfather. You are showing me things I didn't know possible. Your memory and the things you are showing the world will live on long after you. You are immortal wabi-sabi now.
