The Nikon D750 is now almost 10 years old and yet people are still looking to buy this camera in 2024! Even though Nikon has discontinued production some years ago, people are still scrambling to buy a D750 on the second hand market. WHY? In this video I will be delving into this D750 to discuss some of the reasons why people still want it in 2024.

  • I guess with the higher cost of living nowadays, rent, house repayments, bills and food all going through the roof, the Nikon D750 secondhand is a viable budget option for those not splashed with cash 📸

  • I have had my D750 for 7 years now. It's the best camera I have ever owned. I bought the Z6ii about a month ago. And I love that camera so far as well. But I am definitely going to keep my D750. No way I can bring myself to part with it. I mostly do studio shoots with an occasional outdoor shoot. Both cameras are outstanding.

  • You are exactly correct. It's not the gear that takes the photograph, It's the photographer. Love seeing video's about older model cameras. There is nothing wrong with a working camera body. Great Video Adrian.

It will be my 4th Nikon and i am beginning to understand why my dad had several analog Nikons and always wanted another. Must be the genes...miss you, dad.

  • Image quality is excellent. The color isn’t like most cameras models. The colors are richly balanced and has this filmic feel rather than digital to its pictures. And it’s a joy working with these photos in Lightroom. Just got mine a couple days back and I’m not at all regretting it!

  • I think it's not just about the D750 that's keeping it relevant. The new mirrorless cameras caused all the pros to sell their F-mount glass and switch to the new mirrorless mounts. This was further compounded by the Z6 and the Z7 not being as good as the Canon and Sony offerings when they released (most of this was fixed with either firmware updates or the series II versions of the cameras) so then people switched to systems which the F-mount glass was not adaptable to. The market was flooded with expensive F-mount glass and the prices went down. I bought a D500 with grip, 2 peak design straps, a bag, a ton of lenses: 18-140mm DX VR, 35mm f/1.8, 40mm f/2.8 micro, 50mm f/1.4, 24-70mm f/2.8, 70-200mm f/2.8 VR, and 200-500mm f/5.6 VR for less than $3000 a few months ago. To buy all of that glass (which isn't even available for Nikon in the Z-mount) for mirrorless would cost at least double, maybe triple.

  • I started my Nikon adventure with a D200. Later I made a step up to a D300s. In 2014 I read a review on a new Nikon release and put the D750 in my bucket list. Since then there have been a host of priorities that put a new camera on the someday list. Someday has come and my bucket list contains one less item. The D750 is a dream come true. Being a bit of DSLR dinosaur, I can't imagine ever wanting or needing more. I am smiling a lot lately.

  • I love my D750. I'm constantly amazed at the quality of the photos it produces. And one of the selling points for me, why I preferred it over the newer D780, was the pop-up flash. So handy, and works really well when you don't have your speedlight with you.

  • Thank you for the effort and sharing. I am an appreciative subscriber. I literally photographed an event this morning and opted for the D750 because the built in flash just added a kiss of fill flash via TTL and that was all I needed. The D750 is often the right tool for the job. Thumbs up.

  • D750 has been my main camera for years. 3 years ago got a D850 primarily for aerial work, but with the new AI editing features, the D750 can do the job about as well. Heck, my D700s upscale very nicely (and quickly) in Lightroom classic, rivaling the standard D750 files. Did upscale the D850 a time or two but realized I'd need a lot more computer. ...and a lot more storage!

Last year after using D800 and D7000 for a long time I wanted to buy a mirrorless full frame, but looking at the prices opted for D750 and paired that with Nikkor 16-35mm, 24-120mm and 80-400mm 5.6GVR for an Alpine trip in Europe. • Great video, thanks. I bought my D750 when they were first released and have used it for professional portraiture ever since. It's never missed a beat and the output quality has never been questioned by my clients. I started with a new D70 when they first came out, then upgraded to D300, followed by a D7100 (all DX) until finally upgrading to the D750 FX. The larger viewfinder alone was a huge improvement and the quality over the D7100 was noticable. I've considered the Z mirrorless range but I can't justify the cost of changing over, considering it's not going to increase my client base or income.

  • I've used a D750 for a goodly number of years and it has never let me down in any way. Equally I can say the same about my earlier D610 but my praise is greatest for my ageing D700 which I regard as THE classic full frame Nikon camera. I shoot a lot of theatre photography which can have very difficult lighting so I have a lot of dependency on these three cameras for "the decisive moment" and they do just that.

I am a Nikon fan since the late 70's and have never regret it. I use to have a Nikon FM2 that my grandpa' gifted me back in the late 70's and since then I have been Nikon... Today I am just about to enter into my 65th birthday and getting ready for my retirement and the D750 will be my replacement of the D600 which have been great to me. The D500 and the Z50 are my go to for wildlife (D500) and Z50 for my Macro. I really appreciate your videos on the D750 and have giving me the information needed for my decision... I wanted to get a mirrorless camera, but I went for a medium format Fujifilm GFX 50SII which is a phenomenal machine. But I'm keeping my D750 as it is still a very capable camera. you don't need more for stills in a full frame world really. The sensor has a magnificent dynamic range and the build quality is top--notch. I also got some protective glass fot its displays and a silicone cover which once saved it from being smashed on a rock in the mountains. It's a wonderful camera to work with and to enjoy.

  • I have a D750 that I got just last year. It has less than 1000 clicks on it. The original owner had bought it while moving and thought he had lost it in the move and only found it several years later. I got it as I have a wonderful Nikon F4 and several very nice screw drive lenses for that set up and finally decided I wanted a digital Nikon that could use those lenses. The D750 is a natural for me. I'm not a professional but a very serious amateur and so I figured and I think rightly so that the 750 was a better fit for me than a D850 or any of the mirrorless Zed cameras that wouldn't have been able to fully use the lenses I have.

  • I heard the dynamic range out of this camera is pretty insane. I saw one of your other D750 videos with that baby bird in a tree notch and it was crazy dark, yet you recovered stuff in post. Can see why people are still wanting it.

  • I bought my first D750 a few months after launch, upgrading from a D50 (yes, really!). I added its DX twin a used D7100 for longer telephoto range and a couple.of years ago bought a second D750 so I'll always have one. I carry a D750 with me when I go out, using Voigtlander 20mm & 40mm lenses and a Nikon 85mm f1.8 AF-D for light weight (all top quality glass). I only take big zoom lenses when I think I'll need them

  • Hello, I currently still have my Nikon D7 50. Unfortunately, it’s brand new and in the box, I only popped the battery in to ensure that it functioned properly. Zero photos taken in five or six years now. I refuse to let it go as I brought it for Astro photography. I love watching the stars. Have to get Glass for it. I have even mapped where I want to spend the night camping to take photos.

  • I use a d750 for taking Youth Sports Photos. it's a great camera. The only limitation I see is the number of frames per second before the buffer gets full. But overall, the image quality paired with Nikon glass is outstanding.

  • Wow! What a bargain on the secondhand market the 750 is! That camera certainly has been a workhorse for you whether it be video or stills. Ten years old or not, this seems like a great camera to keep in your arsenal until the day it stops working (if it ever stops working)! Makes a great companion to your D850 and your mirrorless! Great video mate, really enjoyed it! Have a great week down there!

    • Thank you so much Paul. I agree the D750 is an amazing camera in its own right. So having it as a back up should my D850 or Z7 goes down, is a worthy replacement. I know it's got my back. Hope you have an awesome week up there in the cool. 37 degrees here today, phew! I'm gettin' old haha! Cheers mate 🙏📸

  • I bought one in the summer of '23 and took it to London for my trip. In Nov I bought a Fuji as a more mobile camera and the 750 has sat for a bit and was thinking about trading if for a new Fuji, but now I might keep and go back to it. Even more confused now on what to do lol.

  • its such a capable camera. I think 24mp is more than enough for anything and has an amazing AF system and that amazing sensor. i have shot so many weddings with my D750 and 2 D600 bodies…They have worked a lot but they still are wonderful tools and work perfectly even after so many years! the D750 might be the best FF DSLR ever made for stills photography. It still is very relevant today… especially for pros and amateurs on budget and someone starting out as it has become so affordable.

  • Bought it last spring for the reputation for low light. After first outing shooting Rodeo at night at first look I was disappointed, until I began to post process, and I was blown away as I raised the exposure and shadows the quality and detail was jaw dropping!!!
