  • Sneak into the museum at night, smash the windows, get the ship into the sea and sail on over to England with a few friends. Surely that is what the vikings would do! 🤣🤣

  • Verri najs, Sturla! That is one big ship right there. There's a lot (really a lot) to be said against our current time, but Norway is still pretty great at preserving its cultural heritage, in my opinion -- granted, at the same time that it is being undermined. Anyway, maybe I'll visit that place some time. Takker.

    • @@VikingStories Perhaps myths is the wrong choice of words; but being a historian you would understand it doesn't mean imaginary. Could all these cultures have come up with these Dragons separately, and yet consistently? A story simply carried from culture to culture? Or are we really talking about what they renamed Dinosaurs in the mid 1800's? I'm not so sure the ancient stories (Myths) lack accuracy. I find it fascinating that the Viking ships when the sails are open look very much like winged dragons flying low over the surface of the water. Do you suppose they were just taking advantage of the fear people felt for these creatures and using it to their advantage? So how did this ship motif evolve? I would really love your take on this.

  • Genetic Memory? the Lombard Question... what is a Viking? The guy that got out of the BOAT! We got out of the boat in Denmark, We got out of the boat in Sweden, and we got out of the boat in Norway. Then the same in England. then we got off the boat in the USA. What is a Viking? and the Lombard question..... i after all that I have given, my genetic memory would have to question "are you a rotten banana?" Your genetic memory is qualified by how many generations of your Y-DNA can be named? I am now at 70
