I tried to make the recipe with agar agar instead of gelatin because the agar agar was cheaper, and I must say it didn't work as well. I mistakenly thought that agar agar would be the same strength as the gelatin, so when the recipe in the description specified 9 grams, I added 9 grams of agar agar in. But when I looked it up, unfortunately I found out that agar agar is MUCH more powerful than gelatin, with 0.9 grabs of agar agar enough to set 100g of liquid! So it ended up twice as strong, and I ended up with a jelly-like slab of matcha that resembled cheap cat food. I'll most definitely try again, that mousse cake still looks super delicious, but a warning to vegetarians/vegans/people who cannot consume pork- if you use agar agar powder please do research! Please do not follow the 9g of Gelatin specified in the description! Hopefully people learn from my mistakes, and I'll surely update once I make a successful batch! On a side note, as I was making the mousse cake my cat came along, hopped onto the counter and started watching me. As my name is also (coincidentally) Jun, I really did feel like a bootleg Junskitchen.

Looks like I found this post about 1 hour too late :-D I too used 9g agar, and needed a stick blender to get everything to combine. Given that the final amount of liquid is 500-600ml, then I guess about 4-5g agar should be enough. Worst case, I guess I can put the current mix into a pan with another pint of milk, bring to a near-boil and the reset.
Just report back: I did need to add more milk. I would say about 700ml extra milk (so about 1 litre in total), which also brings back the sweetness to a better level. After adding the milk to the jelly in a pan, I heated the mixture up and got it smooth with a stick blender and then brought the temperature to 98C before pouring and cooling. This worked really well - lovely flavour & texture, especially served with a mix of yoghurt & yuzu juice to cut through the sweetness some more.
