I'm 42 years old, and I've gone back to school - well, sort of, I've become an apprentice in a field which is COMPLETELY unlike anything I have ever done before - and I am actually sad that there was no such thing as 'study music' when I was actually at school/university. I've been really struggling to make myself sit down and write a bunch of papers that I MUST get done this week, but since I put this playlist/video on, I've had no problems. I got really screwed up in a previous desk-based job, stressed and crazy, working all night, sometimes until 5am, grabbing a few hours sleep and hen doing it all again - FOR WEEKS AND MONTHS! It messed me up, physically and psychologically. I don't think I realised just how badly until today - I sat down at my laptop this morning and I suddenly couldn't catch my breath, my heart was POUNDING in my chest and in my ears and in my throat... I started seeing dark stars in the corners of my vision, until I threw myself from the table and staggered outside. And then I realised -- I have something not entirely dissimilar to PTSD, a result from those dark days back in 2015-2019. I was having a panic attack about working at a laptop. I recognised this, at least subconsciously, and that is why I hadn't worked in an office since 2019. My new job, that I need to complete this apprenticeship for, is based out in the field, in customers' houses. But I just hadn't appreciated that I would need to write up a lot of papers in order to pass the apprenticeship...... Anyway...... that was a VERY LONG way of saying that this channel has been a true help for me. It has helped me by giving me pleasant things to notice, to help me breathe my way through the panic and anxiety. So, thank you, Lofi Girl, Chilled Cow, and all the others who put together these incredible stretches of soothing tranquility. You have no idea how much you have helped this middle-aged man.

Man, it reminds me so much of my student appartment in Lyon (France). I used to live in the Croix-Rousse slopes and every year we would climb on the roof with my friends to have this exact view while watching the fireworks. With the Part-Dieu towers on the horizon. All my friends have left now, but I will always remember.

To everyone who's studying with this music: Checklist: • A bottle of water, at least 1liter. Your brain works better if it has enough water and drinking helps you to concentrate💧 • Your charger. You sometimes don't even notice that your device's battery is going down, so better have it plugged in all the time🔋 • Your headphones. You will be able to focus more with headphones because it blocks background noises. Also, if it's a late-night study session, you won't wake up anyone🎧 • a tea or coffee. Coffee keeps you awake, green or black tea can make you feel more awake as well.☕ • Your study/work stuff: your laptop/tablet/phone, a few pens, paper or whatever you need.⌨ •Anything else you could need, what about a heating pad, a blanket, a good lamp, your pet so you have a study buddy 🐈 Reminder: After an hour, you should stand up and walk a bit around. Better stop the music or put on different music for the break. Open your window, even if it's cold outside. Fresh air will make it better, trust me. You could also lay your head down on your desk for ten minutes and listen to a podcast. Or, if you have to read a book, listen to the audiobook of it. if you wondering if the background exist, yes and it's in a city in France called Lyon. The tower that looks like a pencil with a pyramid on top is called "La Part-dieu" and there's a commercial center of the same name aswell near of it, and the second tower with a big white antenna on top is the "Tour Incity". And thanks Lofi girl's channel to put great music for relaxing and working, i'm a video game programmer and your music always help me to focus (specifically those days where I'm struggling a lot with anxiety and stress).
