The ONLY reason that military tractor didn't start is because it was waiting for you to say "Contact." 😁
Or it needed batteries
I just drove past one of our local Ritchie Bros. sites just this weekend (filed to the brim with treasures no less!) and I said to myself “Man Matt would have a field day out here…” and here we are with another auction video!
That is awesome!
Soon RB will be celebrating "the sole of America" the LGBTQ and you little boys are going to have to dress in drag if you wanna bid.
I wanna go to one just to walk around
@Jnic the auctions look that big, you'd need to buy a side-by-side just to "walk around" we have nothing like this where I live. The size of these auctions blows my mind, here in New Zealand.
@@timfagan816 I saw a video recently may have to find out where, but it actually told the story of Ritchie Brothers auctions. Apparently they only happen like once or twice a year, rest of time is gathering equipment and evaluating :)
I love when you go to the auctions. You always pull something real nice out of it all. Can’t wait to see what’s next on you’re list of builds
Thanks so much
@@DieselCreek What is the least valuable excavator age? This one appears to have some antique value, so may have been appreciating for some time even as it rusts in the elements, but at what age are both actual work value to contractors and antique value to collectors, both minimal? maybe 50 years? so 1973? Anyway, the age of minimum value is the age at which I am the most interested. With cars it's more like half that, 25 years or 1998, the exact age of my Metro parts runner.
@@alan6832 for age I guess it would be early hydraulic machines, your prob about right. Early-late 70s maybe even into the early 80s
@@DieselCreek And I'm trying to sell my 1983? EX100-1, but in order to buy an RV or moving van from a similar temporal low point, and that price low point is my main interest.
That winch trick is “mint if ya squint” lol Never ceases to amaze me what comes out of the wood work at these sites 😂😂
Immaculate condition......yep, that's what Matt said. Love is blind. BUT, the heart wants what it wants! Congrats, Matt! 👏👍✨😊❤
Considering it's 60 something years old and been sitting out in the weather it's in very clean shape. There's a guy in my area who has a small cable shovel and as a kid every time we'd go by his house it was always sitting in one spot for the longest time and never seemed to move. Because it was always incredibly rusty and it never moved I thought it was abandoned there. But I was told by my father that the guy used it for moving stone and dirt. Just in recent years he cleaned up the main body of it and painted it red. So now it looks like it gets attention and not just being a rusty lawn ornament. :)
*@**21:00** when it's got some long distance "starburst" holes on both sides of the engine I'm assuming they just swept left to right.*

Seems like the bunny left us something sweet. Thanks Matt!
Fell down the stairs last weekend, still very difficult to move (and pain?) but this auction video makes me wish I had youth (I'm 71) and money (Social security) to buy and rebuild some of these things. Thank you Matthew for a wonderful half hour.
Feel better soon
Prayers for a speedy recovery
Best money (savings) farm auction item I ever won was a vintage set of horse blinders. Every time I map out my travel route and google can't avoid passing by a Richie Bros. auction site, I put those on and I'm golden. The two times I've been pulled over for wearing them, I managed to only get stern warnings.
I really appreciate you taking the time to put the sold prices in the videos. Always interesting to see what stuff goes for.
Brilliant matt ! These two will make excellent films ! Can't wait , many people would like too see stuff like this being repaired and get going , thanks !
When Matt goes to the auction, it's like Christmas morning🎅 Happy Easter Matt to you and your family👍
Budget Shmudget Matt... You buy as much as you want ;>
More for us to watch
And we will support him but needs to upload more often😂
Gotta make dem Benjamins chooch for ya! Say, “dammit ol’ man Franklin, I gots ta have mo stuff!”
@@alternatemusicaddict5226 yeah he's been kinda slacking since the barn
@@jamesfisher1808 He has likely been so busy with the barn he hasn't had much time yet to work on projects
Dang Matt! You already have so much going on and now you bought these two 'contraptions'. Cool!! Look forward to the 'getting them home' videos and their restoration ones as well. Keep em' coming Matt!! If you are able to get these running and operating as well as Christine then that will be amazing. Good luck Matt and happy Easter to you and your family.
Repent to Jesus Christ ““I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” John 10:11 NIV
I'm so glad you got a shovel, there's just something about them that I find so bloody cool. I can't wait to see you get it running and looking it's best!
Congratulations young man! It would be a blast working beside you getting those beasts running!
Just got back from 10 days holiday in Scotland and what better gift to be greeted back home to than a good old Diesel Creek auction video
That El Camino is premium! $7750 was a steal!
My son loves them has had a few still owns a 1981 v6 stick last year of stick in a El he actually switched it to a 5sp out of a s10 runs ton better then the old Saginaw 3sp he was planning on switching the v6 also out of the s10 but ended up selling engine
Dear Matt, You can add 2 old machines to your collection now for which one can be used for selling in parts. The old excavator is definitely worth giving it a thorough restoration. Send you love from the Netherlands
I love watching you fix/work on old equipment ❤
My day just got an awesome start, happy Easter Matt and the entire Diesel Creek family.
Same to you!
@@DieselCreek how did the wifey take it?
I wonder that as well...nobody needs 2 graders
@@kirdot2011 What sort of crazy talk is that?!? 🤔
Thank You & Same to you Benjamin, God Bless
Happy Easter Matt and Eva! Always love watching the auction videos.
Repent to Jesus Christ ““I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” John 10:11 NIV h
Your courage to take on projects no one else would is tremendous!Good luck and Happy Easter!
The old shovel looks really nice, the grader looks like it's a cosmetic mess but I think you did well there 👍
What a great way to end the day, and thanks for the great videos! Your vids keep me sane while I'm stationed in Japan, they don't have auctions like the states does!
Glad you like them!
They reason why the Japanese don't have equipment auctions is because they usually dump it overseas. Here in the Philippines, its not unusual to see a Sakai road roller from the early to late '90s... with the original owner's name still emblazoned on its side, or an Isuzu Elf dump truck with, again, the name and address of the original owner on the door panel.
Sunday afternoon sorted. I do like the auction videos. Thanks for all you do 👍🏻🏴
Gotta love a good farm auction. Congrats on your buys. Should be fun to see how they run.👍🇺🇸
I agree with you about the auction fees! There used to be a time when auction companies took a percentage of the sale. Now the do that plus add 10-15%. Absolutely ridiculous
They do it because they can, no other reason than greed.
@@Kenoscope totally agree and in Britain they then add vat tax at 20% despite the fact that its too old to have paid tax in the first place, or as an end user you couldn't claim the tax back, so you pay tax twice, just for good measure!!☺.
Well done Matt. That shovel looks like it was well looked after, all the tin work looks to be in perfect condition which would be unusual for a machine that old. I’m looking forward to watching you get them home and restoring them and now you’ve got the gear to get them home yourself. Hopefully now the shop is finished we can get back to the videos that got me into your channel in the first place, fixing old machines. Cheers, Stuart 🇦🇺
Exactly! It's been a while since there were interesting videos. A shop build gets boring after a year or so...
Matt won't have to remove too much paint. It's almost all gone. I'm a 70 year old retired computer engineer. I'm not sure if I wouldn't have been happier with a sand blasting company. Sand blasting something like that grader is my idea of fun. Yes, I know that's weird.😎
@@markmitchell457 I get it👍👍👍
Oh, my. The shop build, especially the wait for the crane is waaaaaay underrated. Old diesels fine, building shop, Premium
Matt at an auction, what better way for me to see him spend his money!
Knockin' it out of the park Matt, excited to see the shovel resto, those things make me nostalgic in a big way... you're appreciated brother!✌🇦🇺
I live in Erie and I remember the Bucyrus Erie shovels lined up on the west side of the plant after final assembly. That was early to mid 1960's.
Diesel creek auction video has to be my favorite
What a way to end the weekend. Matt I'm excited to see the videos of you getting these beautiful machines out of where they are and can't wait to see you start taking them apart in the new shop. To say the least I'm more then excited for you. Keep up the great work Matt your the best
Ñb
Look LP lol lol loo loo loo loo no 9 lol ok ok I'll😅i😅 I'll see😅
There is always room for one more metric crescent wrench in the tool box.😂😂😂. I am jealous of the cable shovel. Well done Matt.😊
Hey Matt from Australia love your videos 📹 And thanks to you I now play in the auctions myself and use alot of the knowledge you provide to help me get old equipment going keep up the good work matt
Good to See You Living the Good Life Matt
I'm looking forward to the next resurrection of both these finds of yours. Happy Easter Matt and Family.
I'm happy the shops done so Matt can work on all this stuff and hopefully more good videos and I was so excited you got the grader!
You could buy the Penski truck and then fill up it up with other purchases...and then drive it home...towing your vehicle. Blue skys.
I enjoy the comedy and drama from your visits to the auctions. I can almost smell the grease, wait what grease? It is almost scary being at an auction. You never know when you're going to be the last bidder. but, exciting at the same time. Watching your video is the safest seat in the house. Thanks for the ride.
Congrats on the shovel, hope the 212 can be saved Matt. Look forward to seeing these get started ( hopefully) and moved. Thanks for the tag along video sir.
I hope so too!
I love the auction vids. Not to say I haven't loved the shop build series, but I always get a kick out of seeing what's for sale at the auction.
So exciting to see how these projects work out!! Congratulations Matt!!!
That El Camino was amazing 🎉
you are a sucker for pain, great work looking forward to the getting going!!
Love auction shows
Looks like you are going to sign on with the county and build bridges and off ramps, great job I'm looking forward to seeing these new projects. Cheers from Jacksonville Florida 🌞
What a super find. That would be cool to see the shovel at the antique machine museum in years to come. Keep up the good work and stay safe out there. May you and family have a Happy Easter.
Just in time to get the crane installed in the shop to help with restoring these old machines :)
Love the auction vids
Same here, next best thing to being there!
Dad?
man every video i watch of yours motivates me to get out and work on my own projects that have been sitting, love the videos man. got a old international dump truck like your red /orange one im trying to get back on the road.
Can’t wait to see these pair being loaded and heading back to the shop, your about to make some pretty amazing content for us all! 🤞👍👏👏
If you lost out on a bid for an arc welder, but came back with a grader, would it be called "Grader of the lost Arc?"!?!!
😂😂😂😂😂 If I’d have thought about it id have bid on one just do make that title
Happy Easter Matt! Fun, educational vids to watch! Did you ever think about having a farm-wide Easter egg hunt with certain equipment? probably a dumb idea but it fits today.
I can't wait to see project videos on this equipment.
Nice to see the Bucyrus name on a piece of equipment, my home town was home to Bucyrus manufactoring for 50 years as Ruston-Bucyrus( Lincoln, England). The company is long gone from Lincoln!
I do love me a good Auction video. Happy Easter :)
Same to you!
Matt, your wife isn't going to talk to you for at least a week. 😂
Looking forward to seeing if they will run and move once again. Thanks for taking us along take care
You and me both!
Fun times ahead, good thing you have your shop done.
Another video from my favourite gearhead. Today is a good day
Enjoy!
@@DieselCreek thanks Matt. Don’t let the missus get you down. We love the old iron
Matt at an auction is like a kid at candy store. Only this time candies were pretty expensive.
Great acquisitions!! Can’t wait to see the starting and getting them home! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Back in the late 70’s I worked for a gravel pit in Newbury Ohio and we ran a machine like that putting material in a machine to make Mason sand.
Matt, if you thought Christine, was crazy and had it in for you before, just wait until you show up with the new edition! 😂 Looking forward to seeing how far you take each project. 🤞🏻, they don’t end up being scrap, or you having to sell individual parts to break even. BOL
Can't wait to see you tear into that old shovel. Looks like a pretty sweet bit of kit
Thanks again Matt! Looking forward to what you do with those new pieces!
Cool find, that tool washer sink looked in pretty good condition. I knew the big guy out of front was coming home with you....lol Thanks for sharing Matt...
Congrats on the grader an shovel. Look forward to seeing them running
Cannot wait to see you get these machines up and running Matt! Christine will have to share space now with "Cheryl". 😁
Nice purchases Matt!! I’ve got a 212 they ain’t no power house, however they are light and easier to haul around to shows. Mines a 1955 model so has the newer engine but other than that they a virtually the same. Nice looking skins on it too, and a scarifier, that’s a nice option that I wish mine had. Looking forward to the next video on it, mine came from a farm auction also and I way over paid for it. But haven’t regretted it since, it’s really fun to play with. Take care
Ohh yeah "new" old iron projects 😄😁👍. Can't wait to see these beauties start again. Great finds Matt. A nice Happy Easter video lol.
A couple of great auction wins bro, looking forward to see you bring each back to the farm. Safe travels
Lots of cool machinery and vehicles at the auctions, i see you have a new road grader project and look forward to see you work on it in future. 👍
Congratulations on your new purchases totally Awesome. Thank you for taking us along for the ride.
My pleasure!!
Congratulations Matt You have found some fantastic projects
Hope so!
Never start reading the comments before the video is over. Someone is sure to give away the surprise. I knew before you got out of your jeep the motor grader and cable shovel were coming back to the farm.
Aw too bad you missed the ElCamino Matt.... I had a 64, 250 327 4 speed. It was well used with a couple of engines and over 350,000 hard miles I used to play hard n used it on the farm too. Happy Easter yo you n yer family.
Holy Smoke , That Farm auction was a mind blower , It looks like equipment from so many generations . We should support the small farmers , so many farms shutting down scares me , if it don't scare you , your blind .
Congratulations on your purchases. Looking forward to the bring ‘em back to life videos
Can't wait to watch you work on these in your new shop!!!
Really stoked that you got the RB22! I nearly bought one with a crane jib a while back but felt a bit out of my depth doing any heavy work on it, can't wait to see you getting it sorted!
That walk around at the second auction reminds me why we are trying to get all our equipment (including parts machines) under cover. Probably helps that we haven't bought anything for a while, due to the prices being up and there being very little at the auctions that we want to buy.
nice 💖 I knew you were definitely getting the shovel & the greater 🙂 can't wait for the video of you taking em home
Whooo weee what excitement Matt, so well done.Cant wait for your ultimate reveal. PLEASE keep us all updated. Richard, Cape Town, South Africa.
Congrats Matt, can't wait to see what is coming up on those 2
As always great video, thanks for sharing Matt..looking forward to your next videos getting them running..stay safe!
Pretty sweet to see these upcoming projects 👌
I can't wait to see you working on these old pieces of iron to get them running. Looks like you got some good deals.
Awesome as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
Glad you enjoyed it
Looking forward to both projects!
Two great new toys Matt, I look forward to seeing the future clips. Thank you for all your great content, Diesel Creek is my favourite youtube channel.
Thanks 👍
I knew it when I saw those two pieces you were bringing them home or to the shop. Congratulations !!!
Great video Matt! I am excited for you on these new pieces for your fleet.
Love the new purchases Matt,I was recently in California and saw loads of old cars, trucks and machinery around farms as I went on my way. Unfortunately here in Ireland scrappage schemes and scrap prices have all but eliminated old iron on farms. Mores the pity, looking forward to the moving videos.
Good stuff. I have to live vicariously from your videos. I have been cut off from auctions, at least temporarily. Thanks for helping me get my fix.
I’m so happy that you got the grader!! I’m a little jealous. Nice work. The 22B is awesome also! The BE’s are good machines.
Cool finds. Looking forward to seeing them move.
Looking forward to the videos to come !! Just moving that shovel should be really interesting !!
Love the old equipment especially the shovel and that it still has the name of the business that used it
