Fun fact: the Praying Mantis is the only insect that can move its head independently of its thorax, giving it the unique ability to turn and look at things.
The hornet used it pincer to pince on one of mantis hands. Therefore it wiggled in pain.😅
"WITCHCRAFT" 😂
Mantids are some of the coolest lifeforms we have on Earth. Very chill predators.
Idunno if I’d call them chill considering they eat their prey alive and all that. Probably fucking horrifying from another insect’s perspective.
@@burgbass Everything is relative. To us, a preying mantis is a non-threat.
Praying mantis sucks ass
They're only chill because they understand we're way too big for them to eat, if they were dog sized, they would rule the world
They aren't affraid of anything. They can fly. They eat their young and the mother eats father's head as an after shmex snack. Males do the deed even without their heads sometimes, because their r*pe instinct is that strong. The only reason they don't bite people is because they can't imagine us as anything other than giant walking trees. "Chill", huh?
The fact that the mantis is the only insect that can turn its head makes it seem so much more intelligent.
Beluga whales can turn their heads too, which gives them a bit of that extra intelligence you mentioned.
@@BrucknerMotetthat's one large insect

Thats not how gravity works. You cant scale up smaller organisms to our size, since their bodies are only built the way they are because of their size. Scaling them up would cause them to collapse
Pretty sure you should still be worried if they were even 2 -3 ft long...

Not at only a foot bigger. A Meter perhaps
Fortunately, the current oxygen level is not enough to support that size.
Its legs would break under its weight, its claws and chelicerates won't be as efficent to pierce through skin and fur of an animal and its body will be very fragile to attacks

Mantis are such beautiful but also cruel things. Once they got you they start eating. The truly fascinating thing about them is their strength paired with their reflex speed. They can catch mice and lizards and even take out hummingbirds while they fly.
