I gotta say, its pretty awesome that even his melee is a reference. The combo he uses is from Sonic The Fighters, and the finisher at the end is a finisher from Sonic Battle.
While in Smash Bros Sakurai created the worst moveset for him

@@samo8690 it's not what the moves can do, more so that it's just unoriginal. sonic is basically a top tier in current ultimate, but his moveset is so unoriginal that 6 of his moves use his ball animation

The way the lines are delivered, i have a feeling they literally put sonic and eggman’s VAs in a room and told them to try and do better egg puns against each other. The laughs seem so genuine to the point they can’t even complete some of the lines normally

We agree to this lol. Lego games have a tendency of taking us through different arcs of a series, and having a lot of playable characters( we can have an excuse to play as our favorite characters)
Maybe have something like that thing Tony stark had in Lego avengers for eggman and make it so eggman can summon his mechs

Same, I remember thinking that this was the coolest game ever made and I loved playing it on are Wii U which we still have in are gaming room and I still play my games for it but Lego dimensions would be hard sense where I have the console sitting has like no open space around it
We definitely need another Lego Game that is pure Sonic the Hedgehog, and have it where Sonic meets up with multiple versions of himself & other characters throughout all forms of media, the video games, the cartoons, the comic books, the movies, and be full of references galore.

It’s not even a proper Lego Sonic game, it’s a dlc expansion for a different Lego game.
When the writing mechanics and every part of a dlc for a Lego game are better than almost every modern game made by it's owners

i think its a reference to sonic colours were he is sucked into a black hole at the end. which im prity shore is were he finds the time eater (the monster eggman uses to reck time and space in sonic generateons and the games final boss)

Fun fact (Probably): when egg man said "needlemouse" on the first boss fight it was (probaly) a reference to Sonic's real name when he was first created as a rabbit but then changed into a Hedgehog and Sega named Needlemouse Sonic the hedgehog because they think It would probably fit for the game they're making and now we have our freindly hedgehog and sometimes disappoint us with their game.. Which is strange because shadow uses real firearms with him in Shadow the hedgehog when Knuckles asks shadow to defuse all the bombs around the city before they all blow up and Knuckles doesn't say anything to shadow about the guns
I really like eggman and sonic's character here, he's kinda like joker and batman where one causes trouble and the other stops them and they eventually have some sort of bond.

The "this is better than any recent Sonic game" comments are hilarious. Had this been an official Sonic game by Sega before Frontiers, people would be complaining stuff like: -Sonic is too slow -Constant references (people already tearing their hair out with a handful of references in Frontiers. This DLC is just full-on reference galore) -Having simplistic combat mechanics (the speed of Frontiers' combat is fast and fitting for Sonic, yet people took a long while to warm up to it) -muh momentum -Sonic is only playable (Frontiers is at least getting new playable characters, and even FORCES had multiple playable characters) -Forgettable music (I doubt anyone remembers the original music tracks here as people still remember a lot of Forces' OST) -Green Hill again (at the very least, Mania remixed the layouts and added the underground part, Forces made it destroyed and desolate, TSR mobile made it a race track, and Frontiers had the cyberspace aesthetic) -Simplistic plot (People complained about it with Lost World already, even when disregarding the dialogue. I doubt people would let it slide if this is a Sega-published Sonic game) -Not being a traditional Sonic game (The only traditional Sonic thing here is the aesthetic)
I'm going to tear apart all your trash comment if you don't mind: -Sonic is only slow in the normal levels, while he breaks the open worlds in pieces with his speed - it's an 25 year anniversary celebration game just like generations, of course it has references (and does it WAY better that generations or anything sonic team by their own do) - i would rather have simple but fun combat than an slow and messed up one (also, both Lego and frontiers aren't fully combat focused but one still doesn't make it over bloated) - the momentum thing is the same with the speed talk, way crazier in the over world - this might be shocking for you , but at least TT games made *original compositions* even if inspired by the classic soundtrack (they couldn't get the license) and i remember this OST more than frontiers or forces music - Green hill thing. Same with the references, anniversary celebration game = old stages - better have an simple but working plot than an confusing and forgettable, lore heavy storybook that people that have all their bolts just won't care - what would be an tradicional sonic game? Sonic is on an identity crisis since maybe unleashed or even heroes
