I started out with a "23 in '23" Project Pan, hit my goal on December 6, then decided to do a mini-project for just this month. I ended up with 6 more products emptied. Happy New Year, everyone!

Thanks to this panning community I've started to track my empties and got more perspective on how long products take to finish so I don't need to freak out as much when something is running low because I've realized that they take A LOT longer to finish than I previously thought👌
This year, thanks to you, was the first year l tracked what l used vs bought. I used 27 products & thoroughly enjoyed the satisfaction of it! I purchased 33, was aiming to get numbers even but am pretty happy to have come close. I will definitely continue to track/pan in 2024 as a way of moving through older items & to keep myself accountable for (mostly) responsible purchasing. You did so well 😊 I just counted mine and I've used up 57 products this year 🤯 11 of them though are concealers that I mixed with a darker foundation... but without them it's still 46 which I'm so proud of. Last year was 41. My bestie didn't understand how I can use up so much until I explained that I do a full face pretty much every single day, with somewhere between 25 to 35 different products everytime 🙂 My biggest category was powders (5 pressed powders and 3 loose setting powders).

23 empties in 2023 without even planning it that way is so cool, congrats Sarah! I had 17 makeup empties this year, with three being bullet lipsticks that I was super proud of. Happy New Year everyone!! 🎊
Thanks to you, I started tracking my makeup inventory at the beginning of the year, and I've finished 35 products! My biggest category was lipstick (9) and concealer (3), all of which had less product in them to begin with and 2 of the lipsticks were used as blushes. Current inventory: 137, goal is to bring it down below 100. Thank you for the great content as always, and happy new year!

I kept the spoolie from Bye bye panda eyes and I use it to comb out other mascaras. Works really well.

Mascara is always a category I use up a lot of. I know my numbers have gone down this year but looking forward to seeing what all I used up!

I have always chosen waterproof mascara over regular and all I do is keep a small emptied out eye cream container with coconut oil in it at my bathroom drawer and use a bit on my finger to melt away the mascara then wipe away with a makeup eraser cloth, super quick and easy once you make it a habit 😊

Nicely done! I'll be finishing my skin tint after today's application, squeaked that one across the finish line. Next year is lining up to be a good panning year as I've got several major products that are almost done. Once I finish those items my small collection will be EXACTLY where I want it to be and I'm so excited! (Nail polish and perfume samples are another story though....)

Try the Thrive Causemetics tubing mascara!
I loved my Kosas concealer - probably the best concealer I have ever used ...but I had to throw it away half full yesterday because it had started to smell so bad. I know the shelf life is only 6 months anyway due to the weak preservatives used, but I had only had it for 5 months! I will have to try the Nyx one you mentioned instead - more affordable too!
I have heard that from a lot of people! Hopefully you will like the NYX one too!
Just chiming in to say the Nyx one makes an awesome foundation mixer/shade adjuster too, if you have a foundation that's not giving enough coverage or your exact shade. I have one that's a bit pale for me, so I use it to mix into a too-dark foundation. It works great!

Also the small tube seems to last forever! A little goes a long way
I went through mascaras the most this year because i had too many open so they dried up around the same time.. I'm not gonna make that mistake again!

My face tho when you said the bare with me concealer has more product than the Kosas, I literally emoted out loud 😦😂 Sold, I’ve been considering one of those two for a while and I’m so sold on the NYX version. Love empties, great job this year!

I use mascaras until they are empty or dried out (whatever comes first). Usually they last me for 1-1,5 years and I've never had issues. I would declutter it, if it would start to smell funky or so but that never happened and I don't wanna waste the product when it still seems to be fine, just officially "expired".
It's not about expiry dates, it's about bacteria in liquid products in enclosed spaces that gets new bacteria introduced into it everyday due to the format of the container. And the importance of the body part you're using it on; the eye. I use mine for a long time to, but now that I'm paying attention to this stuff, I'm no longer doing that. Personally, It also means expensive mascaras that I'll be reluctant to declutter because of the money are actually not within my budget and i need to stop looking for the best of something, especially eye products thinking the price doesn't matter.

Unfortunately I had to give the ELF jelly pop away, it used to cause an itchy red rash on me, I suspect it was the fragrance in it, the ELF hydro grip doesn't do that
Every time I hear people review the Milk Kush mascara, I get so confused. Everyone says it’s flaky or it transfers, but I used it and it never transferred on me. What happened with mine lol Great video as always
Whether it transfers could depend on things like humidity or skin type!
I purchased the Essence Thick and Wow after I finished my NYX brow gel. It is a very wet formula and the brush is a little bigger than the NYX one. I do not recommend it!
Hi. Please help. I love to try new products, but once I opened something, I finish it meaning I never for eg. have 2 mascaras or foundations etc open at the same time. We all know how long a product takes to use up so when I find a product I love, and used it up, I re purchase, but then I also like to try new stuff. What ends up happening is Ive got say 5 newer mascaras and 1 favourite. By the time Ive worked through those 5, its a new year and I have purchased 5 newer releases and my favourites. So my collection keeps growing and often when I use a favourite and want to re purchase, its discontinued. I honestly want to use up in a year what I buy so that I can start each year with zero back stock. Also I dont declutter. What can I do?
You could try minis instead of full sized items for the fun of trying new things and only buy full sizes of the ones you love

You used a lot of the lip products as cream blushes this year so maybe that’s why you didn’t finish more cheek products 😊
