    • No. On the contrary. There is a clear list of terms considered unparliamentary. A good orator can work with that. Sometimes clever politicians skirt very close or too close.... and the intervention of the speaker increases the emphasis. The tradition of parliamentary language is an old and noble one. And it has a place in the UK legislature.

Is Starmer going to condem the hordes of nurses and NHS staff dancing and prancing on NHS premises while COVID victims died yards away ! Of course not. They were his voters ! Bois was given a £5,0 TICKET. Yes Starmer was right, it isn't the same as a parking ticket. A fixed penalty Parking ticket is £90 !! Stupidly saying that getting a fixed penalty notice is mocking people unable to see their dying wives in hospital or nursing homes is ludicrous ! Going into a nursing home at the height of the COVID epidemic would put dozens or even hundreds of vulnerable people at risk of dying ! This is not remotely comparable to staff who have been working together all day and are regularly tested , having a drink afterwards ! It's like saying someone with a parking ticket is mocking a mother killed by a drunk driver racing his mate in stolen cars ! Both are driving offences, after all !

    • @@philippankhurst6680 It's easy to explain why Savile was not prosecuted. The key witnesses (the two victims) refused to testify in court - which is understandable. Hence the case was deemed to have very low odds of success. A later investigation by a QC found failings in the police and CPC handling of the case, but the report is mostly critical of the police. Their investigation made the CPC's tasks very hard (basically, had the police given the vicitms more information, i.e. that there were more victims, then they may well have testified).
