Who loves this man! There is no better teacher than Richard Gene The Fishing Machine!! I have learned more from Richard than I ever did in school.
The best there is! ✌️🎣🔥
Second to none!
No need for me to comment. It's already been said.
I would love to see a book written by Richard about how he fishes, his fishing opinions, and fishing secrets.
I’d buy it.
I'd buy it too!
I'd buy 2
I love how you gently put the fish back, instead of throwing it like most. I would so love to fish with you.
Thanks for the latest tips and tricks on micro jigs! Vote for R.G.T.F.M 2024 😂👍🇺🇸
I have committed to lighter equipment to catch Crappy and Brem after watching your videos. Keep passing your experience and knowledge onto your viewers, we love it. What brand of strike indicator did you use for this video?
I'm gonna have to start order some of these jigs online. I have about depleted most of my micro jig supply and can't find any at tackle stores in town. Hopefully they will have some over at Bass Pro, need to make the trip soon.
Thanks, Richard. This one knocked some dust off old memories. The last time I used micro jigs like these was many years ago, didn't have the luck you had. In my defense, I was using a stiffer rod and probably 6 - 8 lbs line. Now I know better and after seeing you do it today, I'll have to go back and try it again with proper equipment. I hope you know how much your tips and sharing knowledge is appreciated. God bless ya'll and stay safe out on your travels.
I have 2lb rigs myself now and landed the 1st bass of the year on 1 of the 2 poles
Why does Gene make fishing look like he's picking berries in a field ?? True artist!
You ARE the book for FISHERMAN Teach anyone to Fish 🐟 & they will never go HUNGRY! Love ALL you do for us ❤Please don't 🙏 ❤️ EVER STOP! THANK YOU 😊 🙏 ❤️

Jesus - Thank you for Richaard Gene!
Thank You for everything you do for us.
Hope your doing ok Richard, I was praying for you all during your bad weather the other day. Your awesome man and we all appreciate you!
Up Nort those are our ice fishing jigs. Been using them year round. I open the hook up a little more so it hooks in deeper on the fish.
They work great under slip bobbers now up here (Nort) too and through the spawn. That, and an underspin with a tiny B-Vibe swimbait is my 1-2 punch.
Been using this style in CA for years ...just don't tell anyone folks out here for panfish have little ethics. 😮
10:07 😂 My favorite part of every video.
I love your videos Richard. I learn alot from you.
The season he lives for people! Thank you Ricahard Gene!
Love you richard gene👍♥️💕
If you want more limber rod try the eagle claw microlite glass from Bass pro

I’m in Huntsville on business and planned to fish while in Alabama for my first time. It hasn’t stopped raining since I got here. 😂
My favorite place to fish here in north alabama is duck river reservoir. Really need a kayak/small boat tho.
You keep your yard and home looking good Richard. In all your videos around your home it is always neat and everything put in place.
Thank you Richard for another great video and info! We will give it a try,God's blessings always! 😇
THANK YOU! Presentation. Location. Equipment. All answers I've been looking for!
All the techniques I've learned from you has work really well. Every time I go crappie fishing, it makes the difference in whether or not I will catch them, also people watch me catch fish while they don't and I always tell them to go watch your show. God bless

When i move to Guntersville, i can use my ice fishin' jigs for crappie and musky rods for big cats.

"Let's go catch em'." I Love You Brother! Knowledge and Love 🎣=Wisdom🎣 The greatest fishing channel there is! You tha man! Thank you 💪 🧡 ✌️🎣🔥
THANKS!
You’re Awesome Sir!! Love watching your videos!!
These little jigs catch everything, even baby black sea bass! I keep a pink one on my hat just in case I need it.
Love that blue sweatshirt, but you need one with a crappie on it !
Thanks for another very informative video I always bend my hooks then I bend my rod 👍🏼
I just cut one or two slots off of the trout magnet and put it on a size 10 or 12 jig and it works as a smaller presentation
I love to watch a bobber get taken under! I sure wish we could see it on the video.
Richard gene your knowledge on fishing is beyond amazing im 67 years old fish all my life and have learned a great deal from your videos and this isone that definitely works the white popeye is my finess bait and its a killer thanks for the video
Thanks for sharing your tips and very nice fishing brother!🎣👍🏼💯
Works well for trout as well These work well as the bottom fly on a Hopper Dropper Rig.
The wildwood flower is an ole country classic, it's gained a while new popularity. The song isn't any more popular but the flowers doin REAL good.
😂😂 I had to subscribe after that Wildwood Flower 😂
I love this dude learned so much from him wooooooow!!!!!!! Go fishin cause it’s goooood far ya !!!!!
Facts
You have a lot of knowledge.
I dearly love your videos. You said you are looking for a more limber ultralight rod. You'll have to look for it but the Berkley TRS220 is the most limber rod I have ever seen. That sowbelly is only half as limber. I have seen them on ebay from time to time. Its the best finesse rig I've ever owned Thank you again Capt Tim
Awesome!
Big 1:20 Cali gills and slabs lovem’ I whack gills suspended 30-60’ in 80’+ water with a small split shot when the biting gets tough!!
canyon creek 7 ft ultra light 2 piece is the most limberest rod ever thank to you i catch alot more crappie
He makes it look easy folks
Thank you for all the lessons you give us Mr. Richard!
Been watching you a long time just to know Vietnam veteran enjoying what you do
I caught some BIG crappie yesterday evening on live red worms fished weightless Richard!!! I couldn't believe they hit live worms!! Wooooooo weeeeeeeeeee
Hey Mr Gene! For people like me who are new to the area, I really love all the information in your videos, there is one thing missing and that is where you are fishing from the bank. Due to health issues, I can't fish from a boat anymore. My balance won't allow it. Anyway, love your videos and God speed to you and yours. 😊
You’re the best
Hey Richard gene love your videos it’s educational plus a lot of fun entertainment I got a little float tip I thought of . I noticed you sometimes use a little small float . I have some foam ear plugs that you roll up and place in your ear and they swell back up. So I take a size 6 hook tied to my line and compress the plug top to bottom flat while it’s flat run hook through it then take the aversive hook off and to jig to it now it takes I little while for the ear to expand back up but it works good and seem to hold the depth without slipping you may want to try. God bless
My kinda fishin' right there.
I really like the Kentucky blue hope you don’t get in trouble with the Alabama fans
Whoo!
I have used a wet fly to catch crappie from the bank during the spawn. Micro baits are great for crappie
The Walmart Shakespeare micro 7 ft pole is an awesome pole I pair it with a Shakespeare micro reel and 2lb or 4lb test and its one of my favorite poles to crappie fish with
I took off work this week to fish all week and its been the wettest April that i can remember. I got to fish Tuesday, Wednesday, and 3 hours this morning. Caught the fire outta the smallmouth bass here in the Licking River. My plans were to fish the Ohio River to get on the skipjacks, catfish, white bass, and hybrids, but that was not to be. Ohio River is blowed out to the max. My bank spot is under water by 25 feet!!! And it looks like chocolate milk. Kinda disappointed
Yeah, I am in the same boat in the Florida panhandle. We had tornadoes and a bunch of rain yesterday and the wind howled today. Our rivers are gonna be way to high. I'm probably going to drive over to the East river on Eglin AFB. Its the smallest river in the area, so it shouldnt be to bad. Maybe hit one of the creeks in north end of the county for choctaw bass.
But when we are at work the weather is beautiful! Gotta love how that goes
Guntersville tackle and outdoor has the 1lb line. And also the bas pro shop has some very limber rods particularly the yellow bass pro shop brand is limber as a cooked noodle. Well their is my 2 cents thank you Richard God bless you
Everything is again me… Nothing is fer me…😂😭 I was hollering on that one Elmer…🤣
A lot of the time I'll tie on a mini trout magnet about 8" below my main jig, and I find a lot of the time they'll hit the mini magnet instead of whatever other jig I use
The 1/200 heads are great and when I run out of plastics for them, I just trim off prices for them from old damaged bass lures.
Hey Richard, you could throw that microscopic jig with your fly rod for spawning crappies. Dare to be different
A keystone works great on crappie and bream on bed and other times. Like he said they feed on small prey
Keystone minnow lol
Have you tried the Bobby Garland Mayfly bait ?
Nikko has .75” Caddisflies that work well like this too. And tough like all of their other stuff
I use the orange and chartreuse ones in dingy water and whoop them
I use the BPS Micro Series Elite. 6’6 Light Moderate and it’s real limber as well. I can sling a 1/48 no problem but idk about a 1/200th lol
Where can we purchase the Sowbelly rods? Tend have a hard time finding 2lb line at BPS..
Is the lighter tackle important for crappie fishing? I’ve always used 6 and 8 pound test line. 1/64 and 1/32 jig heads. Medium light action rods. Just afraid of them breaking off.
Woo
Does a 5ft ultralight work for being limber like you were talking about, or is that too light? I have two that are set up with 4lb and 6lb.
Would love to catch up with you one day to catch a boat load of fish.i watch every show you make,God bless you and your family and,go fishing when you can because it's good for you ole boy.
Nice little video, Richard! (emphasis on LITTLE...) God bless ALL of us! WWG1WGA
Woo WOOO Awesome video Sir . That is a small jig . Have you ever used flies or fly fish for Crappie. Stay safe and Keep’em coming 👍👍👍👍👍
How does he not have his own show on a sportsman channel yet?
Golly wippin
Thank you for showing the bite indicator with uni knots on either side! That is simple genius right there! What size of bite indicator do you recommend? I think they come in lengths ranging from 0.5in to 0.3in.
Oh, and bending the hook out a little bit too! I swore that experienced fisherman always had little secrets like that to increase bite rate. Thank you for sharing!
