Saw him at a Chicago Blackhawks hockey game. They opened the door at the end of the 2nd Period & he went off the Red carpet on the ice acting like he slipped - couldn't get his balance for at least 2 minutes. The crowd was roaring with laughter it was all physical slapstick comedy & a highlight ! Don't remember if the Hawks won but I remember Chris Farley had us all laughing.

The set guy must have had a lot of fun over the years designing shit for Farley to break.
In the first ever Foley sketch Farley told the set guy to make the coffee table a breakaway table. During dress rehearsal he didn’t bellyflop through it. He saved that for air to get a live reaction from his cast mates. Or so the legend goes. I choose to believe the story is true because it just makes him more epic. Watching that sketch live when I was in high school made me think 1) Who IS this guy? and 2) how can one guy be so detailed in his written and physical comedy?
Good lord, how many fellow cast members have busted up on stage while witnessing Farley's genius?

Adding to this, dude I'm pretty sure the copy of Tommy Boy from my Blockbuster was worn out by yours truly, especially the scene with Farley/Spade pitching their brake-pads.....and Farley uses the guy's model car for his demonstration ? "I can't STOP!!!" 🤣 Always cool to find some parity with people you never knew but were living lives and loving the same people/things that you were, formerly un-met. @@adamfrazer5150 Heck yeah man!! I’m happy to share the memories. I was back in high school at the time and entertainment in general in the 90s was absolutely incredible!! Hard to believe that decade is so old now, but SNL was comedy gold back then. I really wish I still owned a VCR . I need to hurry up and get one because I have so many tapes with priceless gems like this on them and movies.

@@danimart3374 - there was no need for a conspiracy. He had an extremely addictive and impulsive personality combined with weight problems, all in his DNA. He was a good guy who could’ve been with us still had he had some self-control.

Honestly when I wrote that I was going through some personal stuff. I don’t remember exactly what I was referring to as far as the morally conflicted part because I’ve long since resolved that. I will say that when I’m going through rough times Chris Farley always makes me laugh and smile in the face of adversity.
God i miss him so much. Was my fav. One of the few actors that can make me bust out laughing at anytime during his skits.

Yeah,the man showed more commitment to the bit regardless if he was fucked up or sober than todays cast who get praised for breaking, something Farley almost never did. Its weird,its almost like he was a total proffessional.

GOD I CANT BELIEVE HES GONE. I was born in 90 and when I was a teen I came across him on KZhead watched more then wanted to see his age and that’s when I found out. My heart jolted I was in disbelief. He made me laugh so hard and now he’s gone. I can’t wait to see tv heaven and him doing more skits!! Gl

I speak just enough Spanish that I can kind of understand what he’s saying, and that makes it funnier.
It's pretty easy to translate if you've seen the other sketches...
He's so good you can enjoy his sketches without knowing any English or Spanish :)
I just came from watching his gym skit. That was for me a bit sad and esp as I read several comments about his health and that he had died about 2 months later and I could see the truth in their sad comments. Then I watched this. I laughed so hard it made my eyes water. His Spanish ... How long he spoke it and how I could understand it... caught me completely by surprise. It was Spot On and gramatically correct which made this even more of a riot. Excellent work!
Truly he died 2 years and some days after this show..
He was in bad shape when he hosted in Oct 1997...Massively overweight, couldn't catch his breath and blew out his voice during dress rehearsal which is why he sounded so hoarse. He died less than two months later. He was an out of control addict on non-stop binges by that point.
The best ever. Chris was incredible. And sad that no other comedian exists that does what he did
