I would argue that Charlie is the Little Boy, while Dennis is the Nightman who fills him up at night and Mac is the Dayman who fights the Nightman. Charlie always seems the happiest when he teams up with Mac and ends up the most distraught when he goes along with Dennis' plans.

I reckon despite his dyslexia Charly is actually a very creative guy, he paints, writes musicals, plays a piano, sings like it’s nobody’s business, comes up with the craziest ideas which a “normal” well adjusted member of society would never come up with. I remember seeing Frank's Little Beauties intro for the first time. I reckon despite his dyslexia Charly is actually a very creative guy, he paints, writes musicals, plays a piano, sings like it’s nobody’s business, comes up with the craziest ideas which a “normal” well adjusted member of society would never come up with. He projects certain innocence and child like kindness and warmth. All the other main characters are scheming, back stabbing jerks.
Nah Charlie’s just as much of a sociopath as the rest, just in his own way. Remember in the episode where he somehow ended up going out with the rich girl played by Alexandra Daddario and just used her as a means to make the waitress jealous?

This is the best sit-com that has ever existed. There's a few other ones that are also great, but they always get cancelled after a few seasons. Thankfully, that's not the case with It's Always Sunny... Still going strong🌟
