8 Ways To Dye Easter Eggs 🐣 How To Dye Easter Eggs
Easter is almost here, and one of my favorite Easter activities is dyeing Easter eggs. I tried a bunch of Easter egg dyeing techniques and in this video I'm sharing the ones that worked best!
For the dye, I used a Paas kit (like this one: amzn.to/3bUAMfH) that you can get at the grocery store (I got mine at Walmart). Each color of dye is a tablet that you dissolve in water and vinegar. Feel free to use food coloring or other types of dye, though! Before you get started, be sure to cover your workspace with newspaper or something similar - the dye will stain!

Yours are my favorite ideas out of all videos I've seen so far. So simple, yet effective and beautiful! I'll try them this year!
Thank you, just by watching your video it made everything very easy. This is going to be my first time to coloring the egg for my son's second egg hunt. Really easy, fast and fun, thank you !
Great video - thank you for sharing your creative ideas. My granddaughters are going to love this year's egg dying event!
That was awesome. Thank you. Trying a few of these tomm
Thanks for the tips! I'm going to try this for this year's Easter xx
Love love love your creative ideas!! 💡 Thank you !!! 💞
I'm just getting little high listening to Your voice! Amazing video. Thank You very much!
I have tried some of these techniques before (I've been using the crayon method since I started dying eggs in the 80s), but yours look so much prettier! I'll just keep at it... plus I plan to try the ombre and foil ones today! I only recently started dabbing dry my eggs, which felt like a sacrilege after years and years of using a wire drying rack, but the dabbing method keeps the dye from pooling on the bottom. Thanks for these great suggestions!
Start out by adding vinegar to the water you first boil the eggs in. Skim off the waxy scum that floats up, and rinse carefully to keep it off. Also add vinegar to the dye pellets, regardless of what they tell you to do, and use boiling water. By the time you sit down to color them, the dye solution is down to very hot coffee temps, and the vinegar will aid in re-etching the shell to make the color sink in deeper. Don't forget to give them a good soaking.
i love the ombre design 😍❤
Thank your soooo much!!! This was my first time colouring eggs and it was just perfect Thanks you ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜💖
which dye is this
I’m using these today!! It’s not Easter yet, but my family and I are going to Mexico so we’re decorated today. This will make my eggs better than my brothers!😎
Your the best 👍💯 I like the make and I wish the everyone is gonna have a happy Easter Sunday I have a Easter egg making in our school so thank you so much I have cool ideas now
Thank you these are such lovely, simple ideas that don't require anything inedible like shaving foam. Also no boiling involved so safe for children ☺️
Thank you for an easy and perfect decoration
This is so awesome, I can't wait to try this!!
My parents used white candles, and it also worked! The darker color, the better it shows up!
Thanks for sharing your tips!
super easy & super cute!!
Really cool, thanks a lot for all the ideas.
Best video ever, Thank you, glad I found this video 💞
Thank you for making this post. I admit I invited my nieces/nephew to my home at the last minute to dye Easter eggs and had to run to Internet for HELP (lol). This was the first post to pull up and with 10K likes, I figured why not take a look and I am impressed. Hopefully, we will have fun together today. Thanks again.
good job liked the video awesome ways to dye easter eggs
cool result for coloring the eggs
I love this colering
I dye them with your methods then drop very concentrated dye of a different color over. I just let it run over the sides or guide it with a straw( try blowing the drops around) or toothpick. Works better if the first color is the lightest.
Awesome...I'm going to try this☺
I totally love these eggs..reminds me of my childhood! Thanks for sharing. I have a new channel and love your ideas! Have a blessed day!
best video ever about dying eggs. thanks

"Put the egg in some dye"... That's the part I don't know! Haha... what's in the dye? Water and food colouring...???
The dye is from a Paas egg dyeing kit - I’ve linked it in the description. You can also use food coloring and water though! :)
Sarah Johnson - Pugdemonium still replying after a couple years of the video being posted wow
Yep, still replying! :) I still make videos and check comments often.
@@essyjae Dyeing kit is a big problem to me, because l am in China and l can not buy that PAAS dyeing kit here. and l don't know what else l can use, food coloring? what kind of food coloring lol. looking forward to your reply Sarah. Thank you!

So Amazing...😊
Appreciate for her effort
Super wow 🤩 🤩 🤩 🤩 🤩
I just have some advice on the first one instead of using a crayon it's better if you use a candle because it is more wax here to resist the die easier.
Hi tnx for the ideas if i use food colouring do i put vinegar and 20 drops again also whats the name of the tool u use for putting-in and taking out the egg tnx 🤗
Rosario de la torre de cidad juares que bonitos y que rapido de drcorarlos me encantaronbendiciones
Big love from România 🇹🇩♥️
România forever 🤩
Hi Sarah, I have some questions: 1. the frirst egg, what is that pen, how it works. l mean why the dye kit can not colored the place where you draw 2.the last egg, what is that? can l use gel ? 3. I have to boil the egg first right? if not it will be broken?
Your idea and your créative Is very good

Very pretty!
Thanks so much!
Very cool is the egg with the tape
do you add vinegar to the water to set the color and preserve the egg longer?
Awesome
Cool ideas!
Spectacular
thanks
so nice
Happy easter
you should try the one with shaving cream or cool whip (tye dye)
maggie bahahahah you cant eat those ones tho :(
may I know wat paint your are using? and how long it take to get the color dye on egg?
Those were all great ideas, thx for sharing. When you say. "Put it into the dye mixture", what is in the dye mixture?
Thank you! I used a Paas brand egg dyeing kit which comes with a color tablet that you dissolve in water for each color. The "dye mixture" just refers to the tablet dissolved in a cup of water :)
Great, thanks! So, no vinegar needed? I always wondered why vinegar is added to food coloring dyes when dyeing eggs -- do you happen to know? Also, I hollow my eggs (and then fill them with chocolate later) -- do you hard-boil yours? It looks like the ones you are using would withstand a lot more pressure, e.g. rubber band, and I'd be too afraid to press to hard w/ the crayon lol Any ideas for dying hollow egg shells please? Thx :)
Now that you mention it, I think I did add vinegar. I just looked at the instructions again and it says you can do it with or without, but vinegar makes the color more intense. I think maybe the acid in the vinegar enables the dye to absorb into the shell better, but I don’t know that for sure :) Yes, I did hard boil mine. I think you’re right - the rubber band and crayon would probably be too much for the hollow egg shells. I haven’t dyed hollow eggs before, but I’ll keep my eyes out for ideas! I hadn’t heard of the chocolate technique, that sounds very cool! Does it create a solid chocolate egg?
great job
That helped us a lot
I’m glad to hear that! :)
SO COOL ^-^ !!!!
Amazing
Hello can you plz tell me if the water should be cold or warm ?
I love this movie
A cool easter egg
Thanks so much
Thanks for watching and commenting! :)
Very interesting
Cool
Beautiful idea, thanks. Are the eggs boiled and warm while you are working with them? Or just empty shells?
Thank you, Mona! Yes, the eggs are boiled, but they were allowed to cool before doing this. They are intact, and aren't just empty shells.
Do you have to hard boiled the egg? I will be doing some egg easter activities with kids, is it safer to cook the egg, or take out the egg from the shell?
Yes, I would definitely hard boil the eggs - that's how the eggs were done in this video. They won't last a super long time, but they will still be edible after decorating as long as you use food grade dye :)
