Just getting started with Junk Journals. I ❤ your style of teaching this fun craft…your voice is calming and soft. I feel so inspired by all your videos I’ve watched. Trying to soak them all in!!!❤
I would love to see this completed.. You inspired me to start my first junk journal by altering a book.. :). Thank you for sharing your creativity..
I love that you shared the book in its original form before you did any altering. Thank you for showing the steps that you've taken so far. I look forward to trying some of the tips you showed here!
Thanks so much!!
What a great find! The coffee wash adds so much character. I'm excited to follow along and see how this altered book project turns out. Thank you for sharing with us!
Thank you!! It was beautiful but I think the coffee adds an extra touch!
I learned so much from the video! Thanks so much for sharing 😊
Thank you, one good way is to stick the last and first of each signature together.
I will be so interested to see it at the end as well - if you can actually avoid it getting so chunky 😆 That book is amazing, great find!!
Challenge accepted 🤣
Thank you so much for this video......I learned alot. Adding coffee to remove the glossy is brilliant. I hate glossy pages....now i have an option.
Yay!! There’s still a slight gloss but it’s nothing a little bit of clear gesso can’t fix! ☺️
@@megjournals I hope there is iother alternative for clear gesso......It is so expensive here in our country
Great find I’m working on my first altered book
You have already given the book a totally different look and I am excited to see how you embellish it. Thank you and have a blessed weekend 🙂.
Thanks so much for watching!!

Oh wow Meg I bet your heart was racing when you found that gem. It's such a pretty book. Great size and great subject content. Can't wait to see how you use it x
I hit the jackpot hahahah! Thank you 😊 x
This is a lovely book to repurpose! And, don't forget...you can put gesso down before you paint. I'll be following the process here! Hugs! Peggy
That’s a great idea!!
I can't wait to see what you will do next!
I Love this!! I have found several beautiful books (like yours) that are too nice to cut apart. I'm anxious to continue to watch you work on this altered book!
Thank you’ I totally get what you mean!
Meg: I’m looking forward to seeing what you’ll do to the book. Nice start! Carol from California
Thanks Carol!! ☺️
Looking forward to this series. I also watched Tatty treasure do something similar. Can’t wait to see you transform it.
Ooooooh I’ll have to check their channel out!
I can’t wait to see how this turns out.😻
Takk!
I love how the coffee gives it a crinkly sound:)
Coffee crinkles are awesome :)
Love it!!😍😍
Thank you!!
Obviously these the pages in these types of books are “coated”, so perhaps a gesso before using any type of painting or texture building medium. A towel with a warm iron will help flatten the pages as well. 🦋
New subscriber. I found your channel from 49 Dragonflies. She made a zig zag journal inspired by yours. Loving your videos. Can't wait to see what's next in this journal.
I love this journal and you great idea of how to transform it. Have seen this on occasion and never knew what to do with one 👍 Question: how long did you let the pages dry before you did the next one? Thx so much 🙂
This book is beautiful!i really like how your altering it ! Just a question, did you wait for each page to dry before moving on to the next? That would've taken you hours to do the whole book??
Thank you! Yes I did it over the course of a week - throughout the day I would do a page then leave to dry as I did something else, then come back throughout the day :)
Hey Meg! Question: Do you usually do one project per month? Just started watching for the Junk Journal July series. Love your channel and your Tik Tok videos that I see on Instagram are hilarious. Love from Texas, 🇺🇸
Hey! Thanks so much for watching 🥰 Not usually - I do the junk journal challenge in July and January. Just thought I’d try something new on my channel with a series and I’ve always wanted to try altered books ☺️
Can I decoupage my cloth to the front of my book I glued it down now I want to decoupage the top of it
Ooh you could try, I’ve never done decoupage before!
Pretty fingernails!
Hey Meg do you know who makes this book or it's official name?
Who is the author of that book?
I’m not sure sorry!
@@megjournals it’s ok… found exactly same book in EBAY
