Men's Rings Final | Tokyo Replays

China's LIU Yang and YOU Hao claimed the gold and silver medals on the still rings on the second of three days of artistic gymnastics apparatus finals. 2016 Olympic still rings champion Eleftherios Petrounias of Greece claimed the bronze medal.
Liu looked relaxed, adding flare to his routine - rolling his neck around while performing an iron cross strength hold. He dismounted with a tucked, double-double dismount with a small hop for a 15.500 score and the Olympic title. You was close behind with a 15.300 with Petrounias just behind at 15.200.
The one-two finish is the first for male gymnasts from People's Republic of China since the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing when CHEN Yibing and YANG Wei claimed the two top spots. Liu's gold is the first for a Chinese athlete in gymnastics at the Tokyo 2020 Games.
On the victory podium, You placed the gold medal around Liu's neck before the duo embraced. _____________________________________________________
