The complete new scenes with Vicki and Steven in Tales of the TARDIS Episode 5 "The Time Meddler Robber."
These scenes are intended to be bookends to the Classic Who serial "The Time Meddler." As the scenes are not available outside the UK, I have uploaded them to KZhead for international fans. For the intended experience, watch "The Time Meddler" Episodes 1-4 at the cut.
Overly negative comments that are elitist or disrespectful to the original creators will be removed.
Steven gave the Toymaker a right hook...
Hartnell had one of the best doctor laughs like an old grandpa seeing his grand children doing something silly
Yeah. There’s no one else that could’ve played the First Doctor other than Hartnell. I was wondering if anyone knows what episode that laugh came from?
The First Doctor's chuckle makes me tear up.
me too me too
Me too!
Me too 😊
The old/young man 😊
Being the doctor and this incarnation of me seems to be in constant conflict with my previous incarnations
They are as old as Bill Hartnell was but their stories are as young as ever! 🥰
Hartnell was only 55 lol :)
@@papalaz4444244 but looked 155
Seriously… they’re a lot older. Hartnell was in his 50s. So basically the same age as Hugh Jackman.
@@redcurrantartI take the point but why Hugh Jackman? 🤷♂️
@@Robert-tl2vg He looks young for his age.
So lovely to see Steven and Vicki reunite and talk about their best adventures. It's all the more important for the fact the stories where they each left the Doctor no longer exist, and most of Steven's travels with the Doctor are also lost in time. DIscussing those 'missing pieces' is a wonderful touch, for fans old and new alike. It makes you want to see them in all their glory, if only they were ever found. Unlikely, of course, but we can hope.
This is so sweet. Gotta appreciate the First Doctor's fiendish cackle at the end
If only we could have seen Leela and Romana
Last time Vicki saw Steven, he was mortally wounded. How reassuring all those years later to see that he got to live a full life.
I gotta admit, seeing Steven and Vicki hug brought a tear to my eye.
This episode made me tear up the most out of Tales of the TARDIS
I think its great they got these two back, the 60s companions seem to get largely forgotten (only jamie and zoe seem to be popular) but vicki was the second companion after ian and barbara left so its great the actress who probably thought this little show would never be around now nearly 60 years after she was on it not only is still around but remembers her part in it as the girl who followed susan.
Sadly her exit from the show was kinda unpleasant. The guys in charge of the show at the time were constantly butting heads with William Hartnell and she was always the one to step in and defend Bill, it resulted in them firing her so she couldn’t defend him and further
@@mrcritical6751 Really? That's a piece of Who gossip I've never heard. She was a good friend then cos Bill was rather irritable like his character. The only other thing I've seen her in was The Duchess of Duke Street which was a great comedy drama from the 70s.
Steven and Vicki are my favorite Classic companions. This is so magical and special. I love them (the characters and the actors)
Suggestion for series two of this if they ever do one. Carole Ann Ford and Peter Fraser remembering the Dalek Invasion Of Earth.
Honestly it’s sad that William Russell isn’t in good enough shape nowadays to play Ian again for a long period, imagine how heartfelt a Susan and Ian reunion would have been
They slipped so easily back into those wonderful characters.
My favorite part is when Steven points out the 6th Doctor’s jacket and says can you imagine the Doctor wearing this. Meanwhile us Whovians are going we can do more than imagine it
Gosh, there's nothing like these 1960s companions. Totally the best!
These are the most heartwarming scenes ever I’ve literally cried through some of them because of the amazing acting between the cast, these are just absolutely amazing and we as fans didn’t deserve this ❤️❤️❤️
Steven dressed like a Bond Villain.
Was everyone else wishing at the end, along with Steven and Vicki? ❤
I was I heard his laugh
The way she talks about the pocket watch got To me
If that ending doesn't get you in the feels, nothing will. - Chris
This is such a beautiful series. I wouldn’t say I’m the biggest fan there ever was but this is so good; it makes me love Dr. Who far more than all the shenanigans they’ve been up to lately!
Bravo to the composer and the actors, they make these little scenes so moving and emotional. 🥰
I believe it was the same composer who scored all of The Sarah Jane Adventures.
I've never watched those but at least now I know it has good music.@@josephchambers2000
These reunions makes me cry 😭 it's so beautiful
Tears of joy watching this. So wonderful to see Maureen and Peter again. ❤
So lovely to see these two again. Of all six episodes, Maureen O'Brien's performance is my favourite, with Peter Purves and Frazier Hines being a close second. Old pros with some magic left in them.
yes, my eyes are damp. it's so good to see Vicky and Steven again.
A reunion we have always wanted and never thought we'd get. These Tales of the TARDIS are exactly what we needed. Bravo. So, when do we get Ian and Susan?
Doubt we’ll get Ian. John Bishop had to feed William Russell his lines in Power of the Doctor. Sadly his mind isn’t all there anymore.
@@Nick-kz6dg I am so very sorry to hear that. He is what - 98 now? We got our tribute to him in Power of the Doctor. I guess that will have to suffice.
@@Nick-kz6dg Poetic. He used to have to feed Hartnell his lines. I figured he only had that one line because that was all he could manage at his age. Last I heard Carole Ann Ford was doing alright, though. Maybe we could still see Susan? Of course, Capaldi really wanted her back and it STILL didn't happen so... who the heck knows what's going on there.
@@professorhaystacks6606 I don't know why it didn't happen either. Capaldi wanted Ford back for an episode - was she even approached?
@@kali3665 my understanding was moffet and/or the beeb didn't want ANY classic characters back. I don't have a source though so I don't know if that is true, it was more a rumor.
Again, Thank You for uploading! Vicki Pallister and Steven Taylor, this is pretty cool and doesn't mess with any continuity at all, which is great. I mean, well, at some point we know Steven has issues with his kids and his kingdom and he abdicates, but yeah, not something you just throw out in your first conversation with an old friend. 😉
That was a really great trilogy of Companion Chronicles...
The best Tales of the Tardis, absolutely lovely.
The years have been amazing to Maureen and Peter.
Tales of the TARDIS ep 5 - The Time Meddler -Maureen O'Brien - Vicki -Peter Purves - Steven Featuring: -William Hartnell - the Doctor
That chuckle is iconic
What is loved, endures.
Ah! Gosh it's so nice to see them.
You know, it's kind of a shame they didn't get Susan and Ian to do an episode. They could have recounted An Unearthly Child.
They probably would of it it wasn’t for that dickhead who was trying to sue the bbc for the story rights
We're never getting another episode with Ian. William Russell has dementia and barely managed to say his one line in Power of the Doctor
Susan's return would be too dramatic to handle in something like this
Thank You from Australia!!! :-)
Wow they both look so gracious . In this case age has been kind . 👍👍
kind of stuff that just makes me grin ear to ear in joy.
I really love seeing these stories
It would have been cool if they had William Russell come down in a bubble on the scanner like William Hartnell did in The Three Doctors.
Mind-blowing
Nice to see them again
Beautiful ❤
I've not seen full episodes of Hartnell's time but now I want to. :) These are lovely.
Brace yourself. They can drag on. The original Dalek story was 8 episodes!
I've been watching them these past couple months and I really like them. They've got a different style, some almost Twilight Zone like. I like the black and white too.

7:25 Que final magnífico 🤩👌🏻🇬🇧🇧🇷👨🏻🦳👦🏻
I just finished watching episodes with Vicki and Steven for the first time. So good to see them again. What a moving end to the video.
Thanks ❤
Twice she was in the 60th anniversary specials, this one, and in Once and Future as the Big Baddy, Madame Union
Not gonna lie, I cried a little
I really wished we could of seen the first doctor reunite with them both
I'm surprised they didn't just haul David Bradley in but I guess he wasn't the actor they did their time with so it wouldn't have been the same.
@@user-et6pj4db9smad how David has been the 1st doctor the longest 😅
@@Budbrothers420 lol well not longer than Hartnell no but he has beaten hurndell now since hurndell only did it once and David has done it twice although only once in the actual story itself I guess.
@@user-et6pj4db9s yeah playing him hartnell was the doctor for 3 years and came back for the 10th anniversary so I say 10 years Bradley has playing him since 2013 he has less on screen time but technically is beating him now he’s also don’t audios in the time so wasn’t inactive for 6 years like harnell was
Should’ve had David Bradley show up for a bit. They used him for so many things, it would’ve been nice to see him here. Maybe we will get him with Susan (who they’d also have to recast)
It was more moving and respectful to have Vicki see One, and One's trademark mischievous laugh rather than seeing David Bradley.
did they do one for pertwee or troughtons companions?
Erm the original Susan actress is still alive
@@rogerradue2352yeah Jo from the 3rd doctor got one...
I wonder what happened to the monk after the daleks?
That’s a question that Big Finish can answer my friend!
He returns in the 8th Doctor Adventures season 4
He returned in The Daleks' Master Plan, I'm sure he returned in Big Finish as well, but I'm quite certain that Steven was referring to their encounter in The Daleks' Master Plan. Most of the episodes are missing, that's why a lot of people haven't seen it.
Where can I watch this whole thing in the us?
you cant
💯💯💯❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Where do these come from?
I believe its from Tales of the Tardis, I think its an UK Exclusive (I think, iPlayer have those) cuz production dont have the Mouse money
The Monk is a character they need to bring back for the modern era
They have in big finish a few times was even in the 60th audio
@Budbrothers420 point stands though we need more varied Time Lord antagonists other than the Master over and over
@@Jimjim192 yeah definitely there’s a lot of them I just hope they do them right so it doesn’t ruin the classic version of the character
@Budbrothers420 There's one in the Audios I would love to see on TV called The Eleven if you dont know he's a time lord with regenerative dissonance basically his previous incarnations talk through him at certain points like a split personality of sorts
Never been that devoted a fan to listen to the Big Finish stuff but I've heard that they have different incarnations of the Monk in them
wait their characters are brother and sister who knew
I think brother and sister in the found family way.
Как я понял это бабуля Виктория Уотерфилд.А второго не опознаю.Спутники Второго? Доктора. И пошли вы нафиг со своей русофобией,чтоб я заморачивался с переводом.
This is Vicki & Steven, who was with the First Doctor after Barbara & Ian left.
there is something so wonderful and beautiful about the first doctors laugh 🥲
