    • Maybe you should make an autonomous Droid that runs around your house and does all sorts of things that'll be awesome it'll need some kind of charging base and be able to automatically return to it

    • There's this app has been working with it's called ifft if this then that it's basically rudimentary programming for Alexa I use it to hook Alexa up to the Harmony hub or you can download the Alexa app and go into the skills and games section and download the harmony app for Alexa

  • You built a smugglers droid. When I look at it, I see something akin to the Ugly Fighter. Of you are unfamiliar, they are spacecraft cobbled together from spare parts. This droid has a “works but could break down any second” look. I love the dent on the dome. Was it placed? The exposed giblets speak of repairs on the go. This is great and I thank you for sharing it.

    • Thank you! I love the “could break down at any second”. So true. The dome was damaged on purpose, just wanted to add a bit more weathering to it. Thanks for watching!

  • The very first R2-D2 I had ever seen built by Trek Fans, had me drooling. I keep thinking it is way too complicated for me to even start. I know that it really just boils down to taking my time, and doing a lot of research, but so far I've not attempted it. This particular Droid just simply floors me! I mean it is an R2 droid, but so much more! I love that you put your own spin on it! The fact that so many parts move on this Droid is just astounding! That means more electronics... and I'm not sure I am in that league! LOL! But, who knows? maybe one day, in a woodshop far far away.....

  • I’m wanting to build an R2 unit that can function as a bass amp. The slightly angled body in third leg mode sorta lends itself to pointing sound up at a six foot bass player! I’ll use a 10 or 12 “ woofer pointed at the floor for the low end, and a couple 8 or 6” speakers and a horn for the mids and highs. I figure I can drop a couple class D bass amps in it and even hide the wireless unit in the head.

  • Congrats bro, love your Droids, all that hard work paid off, what is the cost difference to build the full size to the size of your droid? Thanks and keep up the great work. May the Force be with You!!!

    @grimaldo99@grimaldo994 жыл бұрын
    • Thank you very much! I don’t know that there is a specific dollar amount as there are so many variations of droid builds out there. You can go super simple, or WAY over the top. My understanding from talking with other builders is that full size units can range from $5k - $10k, and ours, with all the things we have done, are coming in under $2k

    • TEAM GT thank you. The droid building is certainly a great deal of fun. The scale we work in is surprisingly satisfying because it’s still a detailed replica. I love chopper’s design. That would be a great build!

    • @@TheSmugglersRoom aaaaand he is hilarious lol. the thing he does with his 2 little arms is hilarious, but i think would be very hard to make work, its quite a complex movement to replicate. I was thinking do you have plans for armoury or a hidden armoury for your smugglers room? could put your DL 44, lightsabers and nerf guns in there, plus any more you make in the future?

A malnutritioned, late stage cancer, low palative-health-fixed--income, nerd in an apartment the size of most people's living room (me) doesn't have a ghost of a chance. It was a neat watch. Love the Droid!!!! But I kinda think I would have felt better not seeing it. Lol

    @ben_r.1910@ben_r.19105 жыл бұрын
    • Ben _R.19 hey there, you should totally go for it. Pricing for these are all over the map. Sorry to not have a more accurate figure for you but it depends on what you make it from, droid functionality, and more. I suggest that you join the Astromech builders club and settle in for some research. That will allow you to explore all the options out there and you’ll be able to find a build that fits your budget. Hope that helps.
