Freeing my Truck of thick ice from last night's storm using a rubber mallet. ASMR sounds!
After my truck was coating in thick ice I used a rubber mallet to free it. It's like ASMR for the eyes. Filmed with a GoPro 8, you can own your own at amzn.to/3erNx5E
ASMR is a feeling of well-being combined with a tingling sensation in the scalp and down the back of the neck, as experienced by some people in response to a specific gentle stimulus, often a particular sound.
Some posts about this video-

Jain Animesh- Why the hell does this feel so satisfying?
Carla Edwards- When I watched this video my head felt weird, it happens only to me. when I watch something super satisfying my head or neck feels tingly.

Update June 2023. How this all happened.
It's weird how this random video caused so much attention! It wasn't planned it was just spontaneous. We had just suffered the hardest ice storm in recent memory causing power outages for our whole western valley not just our city, Oregon City. With many trees down with many power poles down it was bad bad. One the 4rd day the temperature started raising above freezing which caused the thick coat on my SUV to start to detach from it's body. I needed to use this SUV so started hitting it with my fist which cracked and simply fell to the ground which was sort of cool. I grabbed my GoPro and a rubber hammer and started pounding away. The rest is history!
Can’t we just appreciate how clean the car looks under the ice
Agreed
I was thinking the same.
Totally agree.
Wouldn’t the ice be scratching the paint?
Well, there's nowhere for the dirt to fall onto, lol..
The sound of it breaking apart is literally so satisfying to hear
I'm happy you enjoyed the experience ;)
Yeah so satisfying
Yeah, its so satisfing
Yes
@ Superhero Gamer what does that supposed to mean
The sound quality of the thumping from the mallet and the ice breaking away is candy for my ears
I was wondering why I found it to be so wonderful.🤣
Speaking of candy, you made me hungry
Great 👍🏻 now I want candy corn 🍥
ye
Probably.
God bless this man's soul for recording and sharing this video with us!
My pleasure!

The sound of the ice rules! I live in Southern California so I never hear the sound of ice bring chipped off a car. 🌴
And God bless you for asking God to bless his soul.
@@IceManOregon Breaking ice is looks like game!
Ah yes, the molting process for some trucks. Most do this naturally on their own, but others sometimes require assistance for this process. You've done a good deed in helping this truck shed its old skin.
I've had to deal with ice a few times, I feel stupid that I never considered a rubber mallet, thanks for the tip!
Happy to help!
Life and living in the frozen tundra! Nice job! 🥶💨🌬️❄️🌞
forgive me if this is a stupid question (we never get ice or snow where i live) but how do people normally deal with ice like this?
@@Jackson-pu7gd They usually just don't, and just defrost their windshield and scrape off just enough to see out the windshield drivers side and their door window. Then again we don't live anywhere near a big highway, so I guess it's not such a big problem where I live.
@@Jackson-pu7gd - heat up the car so there is a layer of water between the window and ice, then scrape, scrape, scrape. Swear. Scrape more. I've used a butter knife to get the ice off before. I live in the city, so have to get all the windows clear.
A worse hazard if you dont clean the ice (or snow) off the roof of your vehicle is that as your driving it can fall off and collide with the windshield of the person behind you. This can block their vision or even break through their windshield.
well yes even kids would know this but it seems full grown people don't have brain and they are lazy and think everything will be ok no need to clean that :(((((
@@derim006 i made this comment because fairly recently it was in the local news how this situation happened. The ice flew off a person's roof and through the windshield of the car behind them. The only reason there wasn't a death was because no one was in the passenger seat at the time. The driver had a number of cuts but survived luckily.
@@derim006 I'm from Florida, and I never thought of this issue before.
@@krisdenger8339 well don't know what to tell you if i am too harsh sorry but i am amazed how grown people don't understand simple things or they just think about themselves and that is government guilty about that and parasites billionaires who made this money system we live in :((
@@derim006 Did that person change their comment because I see them saying is, they never thought of it because they live in Florida? What do the government and billionaires have to do with ice and snow on cars?
The combination of the crunchy snow along with the breaking of the ice, and the sloshy noises it makes when it slides down the window is a good experience, 10/10, would recommend to people who struggle to sleep.

1. Watching ice break is seriously satisfying. 2. You're a good son.
This was sooooo satisfying! I rewatch this over and over again. Thanks for the video ❤️
This is so satisfying that I can watch this all day long 😍
Me too
Officially satisfied
I remember that snowstorm. I live in newberg, and at the time, I worked at a shop thats a 5 minute drive or a 15-minute walk from my house, I came out that Friday morning and there was so much ice and snow on my car I ended up having to walk to work. We got out early because hardly anyone showed up. That weekend, we went out to dinner for my mom's birthday, and I had to scrape off so much ice from my car. Huge sheets about half an inch thick. Good times
Also most of the area lost power for days while all this was unfolding Ice took down powerlines. Hopefully this is a once in a lifetime event!
I could watch this for days. The sounds are wonderful. Please more posts like this!
This was worth my 2 percent of battery before putting it on charge amazing video

I don't know why but the sound, the ice breaking it's all just so satisfying and relaxing
The scariest part in this is adjusting the power so that the windshield doesn't break
@@kridacreations119 Maybe, but it's still scary to let go of the guard when adjusting the power, maybe because of that a rubber hammer can be safe but it can also crack the windshield due to removing the limited guard Power
@@diazwahyusatrio9953 Yes, swinging a rubber mallet hard enough COULD in theory damage a car window, but most humans don't have the kind of strength to do that. He uses a rubber mallet instead of a steel hammer to negate the worries of denting/scratching the body and damaging windows. As I described in another comment, glass like this is designed to withstand heavy impacts and high stress. It's very unlikely a rubber mallet could do anything.
If a wind ahield could stand the impact of 1 x1 inch stone, why should it break after an gentle hit with an rubber mallet?
It a rubber hammer bro
I was about to say that
This is so satisfying to see the ice coming off
I’m sure that people already understand this, but this is basically just a seasonal satisfying activity and I’m here for it.
There's something very satisfying about ice storms. The crunching ice, of course. But seeing all the trees droop in such a way just makes it seem so surreal.

It’s kinda calming, the way the ice smoothly slides off the vehicle as it’s being hit with the rubber mallet. But I’ll be honest, I saw “ASMR” in the video title, and I had to keep watching. Thanks for posting this :)
