I really like your “cockpit stance”. Not rushed, planning ahead, clear and readable comms. Nice and relaxed!
I hope all pilots are like him!
As opposed to all those pilots that are slouched over and not paying attention.
Love when you have y9ur sweet mom with you
*Watching this just incase I ever need to fly a plane.*
😂
You never know...
Same :) think I’m gonna just drive it on the highway :)
Where’s the blinkers
Brake and gas that’s all I need to know
It's so cool how far we have come in 100 years. The Wright Brothers first flight was shorter than the wingspan of a 747
31:25 Directly above former Meigs Field Airport ✈️❤️ Millions of people started their first (virtual) flight there! Thanks for your great videos, Max! Happy landings from Germany 🇩🇪 Lukas
That's so true, Lukas! I will never forgive them for destroying it!
Same. Great video.
Nice part about flying in Microsoft Flight Simulator is that it doesn't cost $1800 an hour to enjoy.
I'd rather fly the real thing, even for that price.
And if you crash... you still live!
@@MartianTom lots of people survive plane crashes. They are getting safer every year. Heck, now some single piston aircraft have parachutes in them. Which will be the norm in 10 years or less.
In real life the AP works on MSIM 2020 AP is a little broke...
And you can listen to music and mute ATC!
One of the things I like about your flying is the fact that you are a great pilot but you are also not too proud to use your checklist and keep it close by.
He would be a fool not to use checklist. Ask those pilots on Northwest 255 at Detroit
The mark of a pilot planning to stay alive!
@@MarylandManson29 In my 24 years as a US Army pilot, I used the checklist for EVERY preflight, inflight, and post flight check. That’s the only way to fly!
@@thadlm2698 Hell, I'm not even a pilot and I was like hell yeah. checkin that list! Never seen this channel before this video 30 mins ago and as soon a I seen that check list I was committed to the entire video. lol
but you are also not too proud to use your checklist ( according to who?) to an Non Pilot?
Dont you just love it when pilots enjoy flying
You can see a happy man doing the job he loves as a true professional on Citation Max. Thank you sir for your excellent videos
Thanks for sharing the insights firsthand of a private jet pilot. The practice of always checking the "checklist" adds another level.
As someone that's just getting into this biz, that citation gets going and up so damn fast. You love to see it.
Love it- KMDW is my home airport. MSFS is awesome too- thanks for the comments on that. Happy flying!
Just imagine looking down on the Hudson and knowing you have to get over that bridge and land on the water with hundreds of people. I think about that every time I see the river from the air.
That's awesome man! I enjoyed every bit of it. You covered all things I've ever been curious about that goes on in the cockpit from pre-flight to wheels down. Thanks for sharing!
Love these great shots of the Hudson on a clear day... Looking forward to a vlog on the first annual inspection if you can do one... Safe travels .... Best, Uncle Rudy
Max is the "Cheers" of the airways. Everybody knows his name.
WOW…there is so much going on that “us regular folks” who are not pilots have NO IDEA of. All the props to you and all the great pilots and ATC folks who keep us al safe!
I absolutely loved it. It’s so cool to see the approach to midway. I recognized so much once you came over Lake Michigan. I guess that’s the normal landing path. Really great video. Hope to see more.
Hi I stumbled across your channel, I'm loving it. I have always been interested in aviation, but have always had a fear of flying. I have to say, you have so helped me with your running commentaries. I have learnt so much from watching you and how a plane works. You have alleviated a lot of my apprehensions sitting in the passenger seat. I now know what's going on in the flight cabin.
Great comment. This is exactly the same for me too
You flew right over our home on your landing approach to our favorite airport. Love seeing our beautiful lakefront!
I’m working on my multi and I learn so much from these videos. Keep on Max!
29:28 Birds likely Sandhill Cranes which regularly fly 4,000 to 7,000 feet or more, stand over 4’ tall with 7’ wingspans, weigh 8-9 lbs. Most definitely a hazard.
Awesome approach and landing, Max! I love the videos! You and Greg keep me company during my hosptial stays and truly help distract me from then pain! Keep them coming!!
Appreciate that Michael. Glad you enjoy the videos. Hope you get better soon and stay pain free. Will keep them coming.
@@CitationMax Thanks, Max!! You just made me feel better! Really appreciate watching you fly. Situational awareness, professional etiquette and the whole nine. Well done, sir...and thank you sobverybmuch for the reply!!
Great vid and channel! Living vicariously through you. Clear skies brother! 🛩
Thank you for sharing. Many flight from Oakland Pontiac to Midway back when I work as electrical engineer. Nice Jet! 😀✌️
Well done bro just fantastic
This was an impressive landing. Well done! Set it right down on the centerline and even kicked in the perfect amount of rudder right before touchdown. Bravo
Max, Great views of the "Windy City" on the approach thank you for posting
Thanks for the beautiful clips, the fun flying, excellent photography, and great trips
Amazing! This makes you appreciate all the people behind the scenes that help guide flights
the positive energy from this guy is above the horizont
Agreed, he is a cool, confident dude, someone u would want to marry ur daughter
23:50 you mention flying heavy aircraft on the SIM - that sounds thrilling, but as an former 767 pilot I can assure you that the freedom of flying a Citation like you do is the topping on any ice cream. Great job! Safe Flights!
GREAT VIDEO. Am a born and raised Chicago native and loved seeing my city on your approach to the downtown lakefront. GRAND viewing 👍
Great video. Loved the visuals and the comms with ATC. Top notch stuff.
Actually enjoyed this. Don't know that I'll ever fly a plane bc it doesn't strongly interest me as of yet, but I will say that it has crossed my mind to take the pilot course I've seen advertised all around the town I live atm. I do hope every pilot that I encounter is as organized, friendly and good vibe as you appear to be. Great stuff man!
I used to own A Citation. Awesome Little Jets! A Great Ride & A Pilot's Dream! I've made this exact flight a few times. I was based at Burbank, I'm A Left Coaster, But I've done PLENTY of Right Coast Flying! Yeah, I'm addicted to Flying Too, since my Childhood. I went flying with My Dad, A WWII Pilot, every Sunday Afternoon. My Dad flew Mustangs in The European War. Presently, I'm looking to buy a WWII Era Conair. Those Gulled Wing Just Do Something For Me, Eventhough I'm Not A Big Fan Of Tail draggers. So far, I haven't found a Conair that doesn't "Need Work!" But your demo ride made me really miss my Citation! BTW, I'm into The "Flight Sims" too. Just be sure that you don't go on A Sim. Flight While You're Actually Flying that Lovely Citation! ROFL!!! May Your Landings Always Be Happy!
Hi Max loved your video. Great to hear you talking through your preflight and flight. I was a Citation instructor for FSI until Covid19 caused a layout at our training center. Your checklist and talking reminded me of my many training sessions with crew and with single pilot training of clients. Also I am a big animal rescue person and thus glad to hear about your great work with dogs. God bless you.
Hey! Thanks so much. Appreciate your kind words especially coming from a experienced FSI instructor! Thanks for all you do for animals! Take care and be well!
Great video Max. I love your passion for flying. Keep up the good work. Beautiful view. Got to love that flat straight horizon
Hi Max, thanks for sharing these tremendous videos! That was quite the crab angle on final approach! Regarding wake turbulence, it seems like a system could be developed using ADSB information to plot the likely position (taking into consideration wind drift), altitude, and duration of the vortex trails of heavy and large aircraft and then show this information on one of the cockpit displays (like the terrain awareness screen) to assist in vortex avoidance. I was reading some reports of upsets of business jets caused by 757's (not even a heavy aircraft), so this is a problem that needs more attention, even though technically ATC is supposed to provide vortex separation. Stay safe! -Ibrahim
Approaching the Chicago skyline is awesome!
Really cool stuff. Thank you for posting
That was one of the best videos I've ever seen flying along.👍
Max- that was a great Flight- Love the scenary!!!
Your vids are the best. just a thank you for letting us in to a rare visual and lesson
ah... started with msfs 95. so many memories on good old meigs field! clear skies to you, max!
I flew in a private company jet once back in 2006. It was an amazing experience. We flew to Monterrey Bay from eastern Oregon and it only took an hr I believe. It was crazy to see the air traffic above San Francisco. You don't realize what's happening above your head a few thousand feet in the air lol
Love it Max! I was hooked in the first 30 seconds.
Awesome!
Just got off a Passenger plane from S. Carolina to Chicago. You just showed me how they do it. Its amazing how planes land without crashing, lol. Amazing Video.
thanks for sharing your experience
Awesome videos! I'm a not a pilot, but love machines that need this kind of concentration and focus! I like the intro music too. A few are added to my favorites! 👍
Nice part about being a pilot flying out of small airports all the time is having casual conversations with people using each other’s real names on frequency lol😂

Great to watch Max! Very cool, competent and what a gorgeous private airplane :-) Thank you!
*COOL FLIGHT!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!*
I enjoy every second of your videos. What a great flight once again out of New York. Thanks for bringing me along with you.
Means a lot Kevin! Thank you
When I hear Max call out to ATC - Citation 2RF - I feel like Max really wants to say CitationMax 2RF 😂🛩😎 Nice capture & view off the right wing of Chicago!
Love that landing bro!! Great job!!!
Nice video, great narrative. Thanks for sharing your flight.
Nice skyline view of Chicago, Max--well done! Nice offset landing, too--ALL of mine were offset;) I learned to fly about 80 miles SW of Chicago--had to climb to 5000' to see Sears Tower back in the day...
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching
THE BEST CITATION PILOT AS OF TODAY dont let them shake you up max
Awe beautiful! I really enjoyed this totally. hope to see more! ! Stay safe n be well.
Gorgeous video, such a clear day, great views and great chatter. Looking forward to the next one
Max, you make me want to be a pilot! Sometimes I sit and watch the takeoff and landings at SRQ. I'm sure that's a beautiful sight from the pilot perspective.
That’s crazy I do the same, driving along 41
You only need about 40 hours of flying to be a private pilot. On top of that a private plane is as low as 80 grand.
Great video Mr. Max. I'm definitely an Aviation nerd. The Flightradar24 is certainly my favorite Aviation information app on arrival/departures etc. I'm out of PHL. in fact, the regional aircraft flown by Piedmont for American's final approach is right over our home for Runway 17. Occasionally we'll see some private aircraft in the same final in. I'll take my sons out to the airport and sit at the end of 27L and 27R, Bluetooth the ATC and my boys will have a million questions I can't answer. Lol. Thanks for this share.
Beautiful flight! Thanks for the ride along! 😎
Greased it! Caught the starboard landing gear coming down on the approach - good timing on the camera switch. Hope the 🍕 was delicious! See ya!
But he was in already in NY/CT for pizza 😁
@@kingkong1040 That being the problem. Poor guy had to fly all the way to the south side of Chicago for pizza.
this is super cool
Aviation is always fun
I subbed, not only because you flew into my beautiful city, but it's how you did it. You make flying look as smooth as silk. I'm in IT. Which I know is nothing in comparison to being a Pilot. However, your skill and career; and then seeing it as you do it on YT, is HIGHLY inspirational. I'll continue to check out your videos, sir.
lovely flight enjoy the trip

Hey Max, I watched Premier 1's video of Jackson Hole and I tried to find you and Premier together and I couldn't. So it looks like I was correct...Hahahahahaha PS I have about 5 .7 hours logged towards my private cert. I'm catching up lol. Thanks for the awesome video's
Awesome! Great pilot. Meticulous preparation. Followed checklist and did a great flight.
Very smooth, professional, and impressive! Blue skies!
It's true "There is only one Citation Max." Thanks for sharing the ride friend.
Thank you dale!
If you do this flight often take me with you ! I'm between NYC and Chicago
Amazing very informative video..Love the scenery…Love /Respect from Germany.
Excellent, Thanks for the Flight, the View! :) I used to Live in Chicago Jan 1 1970 to June 1975
I love youtube because you can see life through other pairs of eyes.
Great Video! Always a earning experience watching your videos.
That was certainly a ‘lumpy’ approach, particularly at low altitude. Great landing despite the wind.
Jealous of that perfect weather. Smoky in the PNW. Great vid as always Max
Believe it or not the smoke has made its way over here to Ohio now
Kevin Collins wow!
@pilot Connor thanks! Be safe. Those fires are scary
This is helping me overcome my fear of flying - going on a plane for the first time in May !
wow. that was awesome. First time here. Amazing to me to see someone so relaxed about flying. Beautiful!
you are profficient on the procedures- good training, good student. Nice views outta new york. Thanks for that.
Thank you!!
....SO much fun flying solo with you MAX!
Hello Bill So tell me how are you doing?
@Hello Bill how are you doing
Love aviation. Couldn't afford it back in Bogotá. If ypu need co pilot that'll be a dream come true at my age 58. Nice video. Nice jet.
good to see a fellow countryman here :)
I remember the first time I flew to Cleveland and was shocked with just how big the lake was and that isn't even half of this lake. It's truly amazing how big they are and you just can't get a grasp until you are in the air.
Wow amazing flight , very confident pilot Kudos
Citation II? I have flight sim time in that from like 30 years ago.
If you're looking for deep dish pizza, Lou Malnatis about 2 blocks south of the airport on Cicero Av cant be beat!
Kelly Davis I think otherwise! Nothing beats Giordanos😅
@@LukePylypciw No way!
Ha! Awesome. Writing those down for my next trip! Thanks
Fascinating. Love the video thanks for the work you put into this.
Nice Flight ! TYVM !
I agree Premier 1 is good, but I like Max because he talks about everything he does.....it’s very helpful for those of us who suck at the new flight simulator....😂
I like them both, the more I learn about the AP and ILS approach on FS2020, the more you recognize what these guys are doing, great stuff!
Facts!
@@krekel326 I believe that I had last used FS was back in FS2000, I think things must changed allot.
@@86missmak Same here but when FS2020 came out, I decided to buy a new PC and some extra hardware to fly and I love it. It has changed so much and I love the graphics. It also makes me understand better when you follow guys like Max and Premier Driver. Great fun!
@@krekel326 Really nice to know that. I'm in the same boat. Just built a new PC for FS2020 after a decade without using it. Simply irresistible... Cheers..
ive always wanted to become a pilot, but when i grew up i couldnt go up 4 steps on a ladder without being scared. Light speed my friend, youre a fantastic pilot!
if you want it, go for it. its really not that hard to become a pilot
@@desks3674 its quite hard and takes a load of determination and will
@@andrew3084 I know. I’m a commercial single and multi engine pilot. All I was saying is if he wants to do it for for it if you study enough and fly enough it’s really not that difficult
Enjoy Flying With You , Thanks CMax
Crazy to see how fast you are actually going when coming in for the landing. looks so calm in the air.
Fun Fact: The segment of video looking out the right wing, as you passed over the city, there is a very narrow strip of land just off shore.. Thats where the old Chicago Miegs airport used to be. That was the home base airport for the first flight Sims from Sublogic, and then Microsoft, in the late 80's.. When you booted up, you started there in a Cessna 172.. Great videos I love your channel 👍
True story! I remember booting up to Meigs Field in the old flight sim back in the day! Would often fly from there to midway and ORD
@Bruce B I missed it when I returned back to do fsim with XPlane 11, it was one of my favorite runways
Bruce B You mean before Daly illegally bulldozed the runway. That S.O.B.
Taking off from Meigs: I've done it with my Cessna Hundreds of times!!
@Dale MTB Commuter Yes, a bulldozer at 2am cut a bunch of X’s in the runway. Stranded many airplanes who needed to get special permission to use the taxiway to leave 🤬
I've watched a few of these videos, but I'm subscribing today. Why? Because ATC said "250" and he repeated "270", before being corrected by ATC....and he didn't edit it out.
Thank you! Appreciate that!
Agreed.
Happens all the time. It’s normal.
I wish we could get autopilot in cars.
@@Black_Reflection i have auto pilot in my car! 😎
Awesome video! My instructor has been drilling the use of checklists into my head since day 1
*Brilliant video. Thanks for sharing.*
Max I love you videos! You were one of the people the inspired me to start making videos of my flights for KZhead. I pray one day I get to step up from a Cessna 152 to a Citation.
I really liked the vision jet he use to fly
Chad Dossett I would definitely be happy with the vision jet too. I would honestly be happy with a 172 if it meant I can take my family places and not have to pay a rental fee. I like that Max started out filming to really be able to critique his flight training. I think being able to look back and see what could have gone better is a super productive way to learn.
