Joint press conference by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg with the Prime Minister of Czechia, Petr Fiala, the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen, and the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, 17 April 2024.

Welcome to all of you. It’s great to see you here at the NATO Headquarters.
And many thanks for your very strong commitment to our transatlantic bond,
And for your leadership you have demonstrated in providing support to Ukraine.
We just had an important and timely discussion on how to step up further our support to Ukraine.
In particular on how to provide more air defence systems to Ukraine.
Because the situation on the battlefield remains very difficult.
And we have all heard Ukraine’s clear and urgent appeal for more support.
I'm actually encouraged both by the messages I've heard in the meeting today by three important Allies,
But also by what Allies have announced over the last few days.
Yesterday, Denmark announced a major new package of aid.
The Netherlands has just announced 4 billion euros in additional military support.
And the Czech-led initiative is receiving hundreds of millions of euros for more artillery shells for Ukraine.
And then, of course, Germany announced it will send another Patriot system to Ukraine,
A part of the important effort we are now making across the NATO Alliance to step up our delivery of air defence systems to Ukraine.
I am also encouraged by indications that the U.S. Congress may take up further aid to Ukraine in the coming days.
All of this comes on top of unprecedented aid already being provided.
Including F-16s from Denmark and from the Netherlands.
But Ukraine needs even more.
That is why if Allies face a choice between meeting NATO capability targets and providing more aid to Ukraine,
My message is clear:
Send more to Ukraine.
Denmark is a strong example, providing all of their artillery to the Ukrainians,
But also with clear plans in place to replenish national stocks.
In our meeting today, we agreed that NATO should have a greater role in coordinating security assistance and training for Ukraine.
We also agree that Ukraine needs predictable financial support for the long haul.
And we will continue to work on this as a matter of urgency.
So once again, dear Mark, dear Mette, dear Petr,
It’s great to have you here.

Air Defence beyond urgent. Needed yesterday last week. Now you talked about Ukraine needed now act fast.
Yes! We have been waiting for a long time for this kind of initiative. Speed it up and encourage the other Nato partners to join in the effort. We need more help from our friends in France, Italy, Spain and the smaller countries. This has to be a strong answer to the russian aggressors!❤

There is the Czech shell initiative to source and fund munitions for Ukraine. I believe there is one now looking with the same aspirations for Aircraft and one for Armoured Vehicles as well. My question ,that I have asked on several platforms already is why not a similar initiative to source and fund, from around the world, ready trained ex military personnel into support roles, or even combat roles in Ukraine

Europe seems to be strategically weak in shell production. I hear the explosive is made in only one place, and we do not have many factories making shells. We need to have more production in different places for both products.

I am a 67 year aged Australian man and i have been watching all the main KZhead videos on Ukraine 'every day',, since Russia barbarically attacked Ukraine and i am so happy to see all you nations fully realizing that helping Ukraine defeat Russia is stopping war coming onto your territories,, thank you and keep growing support with everything you have.
yes, that's right, but Europe was not prepared for a fight with Russia at that time with its military goods, weapons, tanks, etc....we had 40 years of peace and didn't have to deal with it. .nothing was produced...and now many nations don't have that much, and it is needed for their own defense. ..yes, he has to be stopped in Ukraine...and I really hope that everyone has understood that now....i am 64 and from Germany..

Jens Stoltenberg has been one of the great Secretaries General of NATO. He is leaving a large imprint on the role as SG and it will be quite daunting for anyone to fill his shoes when he finally retires. However, from what I see from this press conference, Mark Rutte has planted his flag here - I think he will be a very capable NATO SG. Congratulations and best wishes to both.

Thank you for the information: What I see happening as and American is my country making the same mistakes it did just before WWII. It is not getting involved until too late and it will cost us a great deal of blood and treasure to stop Russia.

Denmark donated ALL their artillery..... 8 howitzers, wow..... But we are still out of ammo for them.

Send more, build more, and coordinate a central European defense strategy. Europe isn't using any of the 100 + air defense systems it has. 10 less won't jeopardize European security. Putin can not be allowed to profit from his war crimes.
Why wasn't nato ready for this from the beginning? Wargames. Strategies. The eventuality was always a possibility!

Hi, as evidence of fact, when Ukraine receives weapons and advances the price of oil drops. This has happened in the past and is happening now. For two days, weapons to Ukraine have been back on the table and as magic, the price of oil is plummeting. Russia will suffer a disastrous defeat which will mean repetition of the early nineties, ie, enormous amounts of commodities at scrap prices.
