Shep's miner's inn seems to be the source of that water tower, at least that's all that I can find from around 1940 on the web. As for that RR station, looks like the CB&Q surrendered the passenger route back in 1935...so it has remained up for a very long time!😂 At least I got Marty's telegraph pole question!

The railroad was the Santa Fe and locals called it the B&F , short for the Back and Forth.

Sally, I’m digging your hat, reminds me of the 60’s and 70’s, Marty is a man of few words but is cool AF, y’all are both down to earth and another interesting video! Happy Trails,P.S., we didn’t know that you had a Beagle, they are awesome dogs, we had a Beagle once, he was susceptible to seizures, they need medicine for that, sadly, he died young😭. Happy Trails!

At about 9:28, you mention you need to be watching for people watching you, and you seem on edge. I kept thinking, "Yep, and add to that you need to be watching for Diamondbacks and Scorpions." I've actually seen Scorpions when in AZ, but luckily, I never came across any snakes. And old mine holes and such seem to be as plentiful as 🌵.

That old grave yard reminds me of the one outside of Madrid NM. A lot of the graves are from the mining that took place back in the 19th and early 20th century. Since it is so stony there, it was easier to bury the dead by piling rocks on top of the dead instead of digging a hole! I was there for a celebration with live music and we partied and camped out with the spirits of the dead. That was an experience I'll never forget!

Yee-Haa! Y'all in my neighborhood now. I've lived in AZ most of my life and the most rattlers I've ever ran across in one month was 13. I know, i counted them. Killed em to. They invaded a trailer park after a big rain. Yep, floated them right in it did. My nickname became Rattlesnake Richard. Got snake, give me a call. Biggest stretched almost across the road. It had just got done eating. Hahaha! Kind of slow it was. Never saw me coming. The meanest was a Mohave Green. Chased me all over that park. Yep, you guessed it, got it too. Big piece of machinery with wheels? Hoist. Steam engines were very common in mines. The wat

With all that chloride ore leeching into the water table, what little water in the ground that there is must be filtered out. Nobody likes to drink swimming pool water which is about 3 ppm but here it is about 26 times more than that!🤢I see there are fireplugs along the road so there must be treated water here but the chlorine level is still 4ppm! In spite of that it is a beautiful desert living ghost town which at one time had 5000 people living here. Reminds me of Goldfield,Nevada in many ways.
