We are suffering in China…TRYING THE SPICIEST DISH IN CHINA 🔥🇨🇳

2024 ж. 17 Мам.
64 800 Рет қаралды

We tried the spiciest dish in China, in the spiciest city in China!
Chongqing is famous for its mouth tingling, fiery hot pot.
Our local friend brought us to try this famous dish in Chongqing, and we were on fire!!! Yes, it burnt! Luckily Gaowei was so smart to order the non spicy broth for us.
Big thanks to our fellow Canadian, Alex from @Reporterfy and @iChongqing for all their help in the city. If you are thinking about visiting then check out their website as it is packed full of good resources: www.ichongqing.info
We are so glad to be in China. Yes, the Canadian government put up a travel advisory warning against visiting China. But China is not what the western media shows you. Come, and see it with your own eyes.
We used Surfshark VPN to access social media and Google in Chongqing. Get an exclusive Surfshark VPN deal! Use our link, and enter promo code JETFAM for an extra 3 months free at surfshark.deals/JETFAM

    • chinese hotpot has 2 origins. southern chinese hotpot originated from chongqing area. it comes with spicy broth full of pig organs. in ancient time, there were lots of barge haulers and hard labors walking up and down on shores and hills in chongqing. spicy hotpots full of pig organs were a cheap source of protein for hard labors. northern chinese hotpot originated from arguably mongol troops. it comes with a pot of boiled water and salt. then you dip freshly sliced lamb meat into boiled water for a few seconds. then you eat it with some chive sauce.

Yeah, blood from dosmetic animals (chicken, ducks, pigs) are edible and soft/tender when cooked. FYI, it shouldn't be cooked for too long. Steve, your chopsticks skill is marvellous....you are a pro, man. Well done, Steve ! Great that you both enjoyed the meal and have no stomach problem. A wonderful experience not to be forgotten. If you want your coffee to go, then Luckin is less pricey.

  • Actually for Chinese ppl have hotpot they are having the hotpot oil flavor with the texture of the food they cook. The tastes are the savory broth ingredients together with spices and chili in the oil, combine with the texture of the food. So like beef stomach, duck intestines and blood have little flavor themselves, the crispy/tender texture with the hot pot style are prefect combination. That's why Gaowei says that the shop owner wanna buy the freshest food from the market than frozen ones, since the fresher the better texture and less stale odor food would be.

    @yn8769@yn87692 ай бұрын
  • If I was the tour guide I would definitely recommend you the best classic hotpot sauce. Especially for the spicier hotpots. The seasame sauce (sometimes peanut sauce) base with garlic, a little soy and any other toppings that you'd like such as chili oil, garlic chives, fermented tofu, green onions, etc. The nutty fatness of the sauce cuts down the spiciness while adding a richer savory flavor.

  • The stomach is quite unique. I've never liked it but it's not just an Asian thing. Lots of places eat it - its called Tripe in Europe and the first time I tried it was actually in Italy at a market in Florence. The blood as well - definitely not something I'd eat either 😅 but most countries eat blood of some kind. Black Pudding for example comes part of Traditional English Breakfast and is just congealed blood.
