I am an amateur since 1981 Had first an Agfa camera Then minolta XGM Then Nikon 3200 Then Nikon 7200 😊 Now Nikon z9 + z100-400 sNikkor Nikkor z105 makro Z24-120 s Z50 1.8 Still I am amateur Travel a lot and photography is a big stress relief in my life Just take photos for myself
Great location to get great images and video. Do you think Nikon will ever bring updates to the Z8, seems like it has become the forgotten bastard step child in the Z product line.
I don't think that's the case at all. Much like the z62 and z72 were iterations of the original Z6 and z7 including all of the firmware updates those cameras had received previously, the Z8 is a miniature z9 with a few less controls. It launched with firmware 3.0 in the z9 world. It's a much more mature camera than the z9 was when it launched. Some of the z9s firmware 4.0 features like Auto capture simply differentiate it from the Z8. The one niggling firmware update the Z8 needs is exposure delay mode. Everyone should be writing Nikon demanding that. A quick tour of the camera industry will show you that no other brand is more generous than Nikon with firmware updates. None.
@@HudsonHenryPhoto while I agree that Nikon has a reputation for providing updates for the firmware on their devices. I think that their customers have come to expect that because it is the Nikon way. I know I did. I bought mine with the expectation of it being the minis Z9, that Nikon marketed it as. When it was released, the Z8 firmware had firmware capabilities that the Z9 later got lending even more credence to that expectation. Unfortunately The reverse has not been true. So I don’t think they’ve delivered on the promise of the Z8 by not keeping its feature parity when/where the device will support it. The Z8 has been one of Nikon‘s best selling cameras in the last three years, so why would they aggravate such an important segment of their clientele when the Z9 has other form factor differentiators that can and do make the device a worthy investment to those who need them.
