  • I honestly don't know how a franchise recovers from this. I've seen it too often with NFL franchises after brutal losses. And for the Leafs, this series makes 2019 look like a minor inconvenience.

    • a lot of no shows yet again. Spezza & Nylander wer the only two forwards that showed up. Like Marner keeps saying we have to show up on time , but he thought the game was on Tuesday.Another woe is me from Marner & Matthews. Coaching was not great either. How can you put only one shooter on PP. Nylander Spezza Matthews would be three shooters. But no just matthews with 4 passers all trying to pass the puck into the net & everyone in the world knew it except the coaching staff....Marner Matthews was not working, did he put Nylander with Matthews try to change it up, get Matthews away from Dounut? They have to dump Marner some how. Pretty sure he is the poison in the well.

      @allanmmclean@allanmmclean3 жыл бұрын
    • @@allanmmclean I know matthews and marner were amazing in the regualr season but it's clear matthews and marner aren't working in the playoffs. If they keep marner (because lets be honest, they're going to keep him) I would like to see nylander play with matthews and marner play with tavares. It just makes more sense to me, two shooters on the matthews line and we know they can play well together and marner and tavares played well with babs as well. Spezza, no matter how old he is, I want to be resigned because he showed up. They need to improve the defense a bit more as well. An interesting offseason indeed.

Think of the production line of bums they've had in the net since CuJo and CuJo wasnt anywhere close to Hasek, Brodeur or Roy. Instead of using their first round picks on forwards (when they don't trade them) how about trading up to get the next can't miss goalie prospect.....and unlike Tuukka Rask, you don't trade him.

CHANGE THE LINES!!! Marner didnt have a single powerplay goal the entire season. Take him off the power play!! What's that? He isnt there to score goals? He sets them up? Well last i saw, almost no one was scoring powerplay goals on the leafs since the halfway point of the season. Leafs had the worst powerplay in the league from halfway to the end. Less than 10%. Ya the top guys need to show up and they certainly take their fair share of blame, but Keefe literally did nothing to change the situation either. Pretty much from game 1 to game 7, he did the same thing game in and game out with zero change to get things moving. As far as im concerned, he's just as much to blame as the players are in this scenario.

Bad team, didn't play an American team until the Cup semis ALL YEAR! Then the Knights lose some 3-2 games and this team's playing for a cup they never really earned a chance at so it's great that Tampa Bay sent the right message of who they really were in '21. Oh, and THIS YEAR....the whole league showed them who they really are once the NHL got back to real divisions and not taking four from each division automatically. So please don't even act like Montreal was the 2nd best team in hockey in 2021 as they weren't even close to that no matter what the flawed playoff format allowed for them to get away with. I bled blue and white, I still remember the Leafs beating the Sens in the early 2000's and then watching Tucker get cheapshotted and the heart they had. Then in 04' when Roenick sniped, that right there was the end of an era for second rounds for the Leafs. Then came along the horrific 13' collapse... and more collapses years later..... Now, I never thought in my lifetime I would ever abandon what I used to call "My Leafs".... but I did after the most embarrassing series loss in Maple Leaf history. The roster of a lifetime shit the bed. Yankee's of hockey failure is what I call it.... I can no longer watch and witness agony and pain year after year... Sure it's a game, but it brings people together and gives us something to attach our emotions to. Watching the way the Leafs folded, and the resigned expectations of the fans, it's hard to really take much joy out of that. I had told myself "if the Leafs have to finally break out, do it this year while we are still getting our team in gear" and had accepted the possibility of it just this once. And yet. • What do I do? Well Steve, I'm glad you asked. I am embarking on the ultimate bandwagon journey next season. Next season is a battle for my support. Winner of the first Leafs game of the season is who I cheer for...until their next game. Whoever wins that game is who I cheer for... until their next game. By the end of the season, my support will be passed around like an STD. I will cheer for possibly 82 different teams. And when the season ends, that's my team going forward. I am 35. I've been a Leafs fan since birth. Gilmour, Potvin, Clark, they were my BOYS. We got Cujo, I was pumped. Belfour, I was thrilled. Sundin was magic. The Matthews Marner combo made me so incredibly happy. I thought this was it. My heart can't take it anymore. If I could hug you, I would. I feel your pain. Thanks for everything Steve.

  • I started watching Steve back in 2016 when I didn’t know anybody on KZhead actually liked Hockey. Steve brought me to cheer for the Leafs at times, introduced me to a whole new Hockey community, and at times his realness kept me going strong with my own life. I think we all need to thank Steve a little more for all he’s done for us, not just having to make videos after the game now but ALSO being live during them, thank you Steve, I’ll always be here for ya. Also, if you need a new team, the Dallas Stars fanbase will take up with open arms. 🤗

This year i was sure with the off season deals the team was awesome, and as the season went on all my friends said we are the best by far in the north easy semifinal team. But i told all my friends the regular season is always no measure of a playoff team. No one clogs the middle no one sticks to the check no one hits like it the end of the world, yet i was still a believer even i doubted my Habs. I feel sad for all you leaf fans but really your team needs some guts and fortitude or you will always bow out in the first round. regular season is regular season playoffs are a different thing.
