You're absolutely right about holidays!! My mom's been making pot roast for dinner on Christmas day for close to 20yrs now. When I was younger & all our relatives lived closer we'd all gather at my grandma's & have a big pitch in dinner. We'd all bring a dish or two & grandma baked a large ham & made homemade rolls. After my grandmother passed away in '05 & my aunts & uncles moved away over the next few years for work & marriage it became just me, my wife & our 3 kids going to my moms on Christmas day. So my mother started a tradition by making a pot roast in a crackpot w/the usual potatoes & carrots & my grandma's homemade roll recipe. Now each year my kids look forward to that Christmas pot roast dinner at their grandma's 🎅🤶 🎄🎄

@@myriah1969why are potatoes and carrots considered “not classy”? You could make some great caramelized carrots and roasted potatoes. Looks yummy and delicious thank you for sharing 👍🌹🌹😋😋
First time seeing a video of yours. Its clear you have a complete grasp of the fundamentals of cooking. Great recipe! Will watch more.
The short before this for me was that one mom who cooks hot dogs for thanksgiving with canned ham lmao
🤢🤮 i know exactly who that is i cant tell if her and her son are trolling or not
😂
You must be talking about “Momma” lol
@@LearningToLove.. Josh & Momma Yep 😅
😂😂
You blow my mind with like… every single recipe you post. And that is not something I can say about ANY other food person that I know of - KZhead or otherwise. You slay in the food world, Queen! 🫶🏼🔥🤩💯
Yes she does agree
YES! ❤
Here to concur
😂😂😂😂 nice bots
Sharing this with my sister. We love to do these big, hearty meals, so thanks!
Yes ma'am! What time's dinner again??? I bring my own Tupperware...😆
I hate it when something fully surprises me right at the start, then surprises me so much further that I have nowhere for my expression to go. Well done! Inspiring!
It called “WOW WOW WOOOOW!”
@@evamar3357 and then you drop your phone, throw your hands up and sit back in your seat wondering what youve been doing wrong because it seems too good to be true.
I'm the same lol. I can only press the like button on this video once yet every few seconds I get more impressed than before
Great step by step of a classic dish - you scraping that Le Creuset with spoons and a whisk makes my heart weep, though ;-)
😢
Yeah that thing aint gonna last long with metal spatulas 😭
Nice roast I would have added some potatoes and carrots on the side
I'm glad that I wasn't the only one. 😢
Brilliant. Pot roast is my signature dish at home and it's rare I see one done where I'm just nodding along the whole time
Suddenly i want pot roast.
I'm Irish and believe me when I tell you, there is nothing more comforting than a Roast Dinner on a Sunday, usually I would make a Lamb Roast with mint sauce ❤
I love you ❤
@@lawrencew7813 Lol, would you like some Yorkshire Pudding with that , Love ❤️
@@joannemadden7449 Yes ma'am!😋
@@joannemadden7449 I wished you were single and live in Houston TX 🤗😏
Lucky guy. I'm the only one in my household that likes lamb so I rarely get it. No good restaurants in my small town that serve it either -.-
That is a beautiful roast. Absolutely love the choice of a rest in a good herb rub beforehand 😍
this is pretty therapeutic to watch.
Yummy 😋 recipe and a must try meal at home 😋🏡 thanks 💯🎉
Please could you link the recipe, I’ve been looking for a great recipe of pot roast, thank you so much!~ it’s so great especially during long winter too ❤
I'll break - because you're such a fantastic chef - my mom's recipe called for Top or Bottom Round, searing all sides, then potatoes and carrots and letting it cook stovetop in Sacramento Tomato Juice. Of course broth and keeping the liquid from evaporating. And of course because I grew up on this it's a killer 💯‼️
Looks great have a happy holiday!!
Girl!!!! This looks freaking AMAZING!!! 😮😮❤
Ya sold me with the horseradish😊 No seriously though, I love how you use mushroom powder to marinate it overnight, and making a sauce from the shallots and garlic, then serving the roast separately I have never done. It is all inspiring. I shall try this! Thank you 😊
Of all the cooking videos I’ve watched, none has made me hungrier than this one. Looks absolutely incredible
You’re absolutely worthy of all the credit you receive , just wanted you to know that ! 🎉 you’re impressive !
helo 🌹
This is so wonderful, keep sharing your delicious dishes!!!
I love to make a pot roast for holidays or when comapny comes over. The time it takes to make it, is always noticed to the guest (my guests at least), and it "flatters" them in a way that i was willing to put so much time and effort in their visiting us
This was an exquisite preparation of a pot roast. I like to make a nice gravy too, but sometimes I like to make a pot roast stew with little red potatoes, carrot, and celery.
That's the best way to make it. ❤
Please we need a book from you!! SO GOOD ❤
This is a great change of pace from normal Pot Roast, my Dad would be happy if every Sunday dinner was Pot Roast.
You seem like a GREAT cook!
Everything you make looks delicious
That looks amazing!
Looks amazing! I’ve made pot roast a million times but never like this‼️ This looks different and delicious‼️😋🤤
Your dishes are so inspiring!
You are so impressive; you need your own cooking show!!!!❤
This is EXCELLENT! Simplicity and Flavors!
Came out perfect 🎉🎉 looks so delish 😋 I can almost taste it though the phone ❤❤
I love watching your food channel! Can you tell me when you use shallots instead of onions? I know shallots are milder, and many cooks interchange with onions so just looking for your take on reasons for choosing one over the other. (Often for me it’s just a matter of what I have on hand)👍
Love pot roast with carrots & potatoes 😋
Yes ma’am! me too! 😍😋🤤
it looks so delishous i love it so much! Awsome work and makes you more happier than anything else.
What a wonderful cook ,I'm drooling ❤
This is the FIRST recipe short that I've seen that actually EXPLAINS how to prepare the food rather than just doing quick edits filled with ASMR sound effects. 😒 I appreciate you actually going through and explaining each step. MUCH APPRECIATED! ♥️
Where’s the potatoes & carrots ?
In the fridge waiting since this wasn't the meal for them😂
This ain't your grandma's pot roast, sweetie. This is classy pot roast.
@@myriah1969 take a cue from the video learn some class yourself, sweetie. It's perfectly reasonable to want some sides.
@@myriah1969why are potatoes and carrots considered “not classy”? You could make some great caramelized carrots and roasted potatoes. And moreover, they don’t need to be prepared with frills to be classy. “Fancy” is just an aesthetic projected onto food, because most recipes share the same basic ingredients - sure, this one has mushroom powder, and shallots instead of onions, but pot roast is always pot roast.
Ooooh looks delicious and i'm thinking about a mashed potato or roasted potato side and maybe roasted/glazed carrots too? Mmmmm :)
Thanks for my new favorite pot roast recipe!

Do you mention what the roast is? I’m thinking chuck roast but I’m not sure. I listened 3x and the talking is so fast but I do love your cooking. Do you list the ingredients somewhere?

It looks like a Prime Rib to me. Personally I'd use Chuck cause its much cheaper.

You are the best food content creator it’s no contest
I really love this take on a pot roast! I gotta try this!
I always wanted to figure out how to smooth out gravy. Because I'd always take out roasted veggies that I cooked with a roast. But next time, I'm going to totally blend them! WOW Thanks for your video!
Sherry+Red meat. Yep, this one's worth watching😂👍
Todas as areas da minha vida cairam as muralhas 🙏 ore por mim bispo

The way my jaw dropped at the end! 😮 Saving this. 🙌🏼👏🏼
I subscribed instantly as the short ended; that is a FANTASTIC looking roast.
Wow you took pot roast to a much higher level. Well done.
I see pot roast as a special occasion meal. Anything that takes a significant amount of time (more than 1 hour of combined prep and cook time) is a luxury to me. I never ate it frequently enough to consider it a cozy, comfort meal
Absolutely bloody marvellous.
I Just love how she cooked the roast all the way and didn't just fried the outer layer and left the whole inside raw....Its so rare to see this...the feast is so heavenly to look at..
Yummy 😋. 😊thanks for the recipe. 🙏❤️
That’s a new spin on pot roast and I dig. Definitely gunna try this! 🤤🔥💯
Looks fabulous. You clearly know what you are doing.
That’s looks like a delicious pot roast! I love making them and next time I’ll make it like this. Can’t wait to taste it. ❤
Being Cajun in Southwest Louisiana, most times we had pot roast that was cooked in a Dutch oven on top of the stove as well as the gravy. Mom would always cut slits all over the roast & stuff garlic, onion, & bel pepper in there. I learned by one of the best: Mom.
Whoah that looks so good!
cooking like a french housewife but serving it like an american karen
Yummy 😋 I'm going to try your recipe
“Put your hands down, lil boy” took me out 😂😭
