On the evening of Saturday, September 15, 2018, Dave Rogers gave two Powerpoint presentations:
• The first "The French Empire in North America - 1604 - 1760."
• The second the "Plight of Chippewa at Saganing 45 Years Ago." (About how the Indians at Saganing [located just outside the city of Standish, Michigan] have gone from abject poverty to today's bonanza created by operating a gambling casino. Included are pictures from a story he did in 1973 for the Bay City Times showing the terrible conditions under which they were living then.)
Dave gave these presentations at Trinity Episcopal Church, 815 N. Grant (corner of Center Ave. and N. Grant St.) in Bay City, Michigan.
Dave Rogers was a former editorial writer for the Bay City Times and a widely read, respected journalist/writer in and around Bay City. He contributed to MyBayCity.com and MyBayCity.com Facebook page. Dave passed away in Bay City on Sunday, August 18, 2019, at the age of 82.

The artifacts on display in the SRMHS Museum tell the story of shipbuilding on the Saginaw River. While it is not a complete history of shipbuilding, we hope this will encourage visitors to learn more about the contributions of early Saginaw River shipbuilders. More than 650 commercial vessels were built on the Saginaw River and around the Saginaw Bay.
