Thanksgiving is about the friends, not the paint. I actually LOVE the way it looks ❤
I agree with you Colleen. 100%. 💖😘💖
tHANK YOU TONY VERY GENERUS
So sorry about the theft of the gates. Glad you had the mayor and the police to call upon. Thank you for the tour of the animal sanctuary and its brocante,
Hi Bernadette. Thank you so much. So kind of you. The community here is wonderful. The Sanctuary is quite magical. Kind of you to comment. 👍🏻💕👍🏻
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 Have you contacted your home insurance about it ? (that should be covered...at least partially)
All that work payed off the chandelier is stunning.
Thank you so much. 💖🥂💖
Sorry to hear about the theft..human nature unfortunately. Love your multilinguality. 🎄 Merry Christmas.
Your guest will enjoy the ambience you have created it looks great. I'm sure after a few vino's and great food ,they will want to know when the next party is . I'm very sorry to hear about the gates and fencing guys, especially after the dogs episode . You need security cameras. Take care. Have a good week .
Hi there AI. After enough vino …..😂😂😂. But honestly, it feels really lovely to sit there. We are going to invite for New Years Eve. Hope we can pull that off. Thank you for the kind words. Yes to security cameras. And we will fence in our barn yard. Gates and all. And cameras and motion detectors. Much. Love from us at the château de Colombe. 🥰💖🥰
I have Covid and have been binge watching you all day. You two crack me up. I just love your humor and great taste. Keep up the great work.
How miserable that someone has stolen your fencing materials, not a good feeling. Oh the dining room is taking shape and looks fabulous with all your treasures in place. I loved the light fitting you took down in the dining room, please put it somewhere else in the chateau. Thank God for Tony and Jayne, the universe was looking after you when they came into your lives. The chandelier looked great with all the hard work you put into it.
Oooo, sparkly!
Guys you are living in a building site (basically). It is COMPLETELY reasonable to want some comfort and normalcy with your things around you. You need it. You guys are made of the right stuff putting up with and being victorious over all the obstacles, issues, problems, and surprises you've had to deal with. You have each other and seem determined to stay in good spirits. You deserve to have a 'Happy Thanksgiving', and to introduce others to the joys of the holiday.
I am an Australian and even I know that "It not about how pretty the room is" "It's about being grateful for having family and dear friends and what you are lucky enough to have" Crikey!!!!!
Hi Lynda. I absolutely adore your comment. 😊❤😊. And right you are. In addition, I know a few Australians who know a lot more than many other nationals. And we are grateful to you, the many people who comment our new friends and neighbors. Huge hugs from us at Colombe. 😘🥰😘
The CLOCK! My grandfather restored antique clocks and I have a HUGE collection, some with wooden works. None of those work for obvious reasons. Love that and completely understand why precisely balanced workings is an absolute necessity.
Also your friends will love just being part of the occasion and sitting around your table ..

Good morning from Canada 🇨🇦
Good morning. Stay warm. 😘
I am an Aussie and I love your crooked clock, and that you laugh at having to have your Thanksgiving Turkey in pieces' just love your humour about everything that you both do .
Bonjour!!!!!!!! 4 o'clock on the east coast of Canada. Drive around the countryside and maybe you may find your gates.
Looking forward to this.. Everything that has the word animal in it is yay to me !! kisses from Holland sweeties xxx
Kisses right back at you my sweet sister. 😘🥰😘
Wow wow wow. Painted or not the dining room as you decorated it looks magnificent. Bummer about the fencing theft. I hope they get caught.
Thank you so much. I love the dining room and we are also prepping the grand salon do sit and chat after dinner. 🥰. The theft was awful. And yes, May they be caught! 👍🏻😠👍🏻. Love your comment. ❤
What a bummert to have such a sweet day marred by frigging thieving jerks! The improv holiday set up looks sweet! Hope the thieves are quickly caught!
One of your best vlogs yet!
You are so awesome!! I remembered living in Germany as an American and inviting our German landlord over fir Thanksgiving dinner. It was wonderful. They loved it. You both are wonderful and I pray blessings in you fir Thanksgiving. I can't wait to visit France. I would love to live there!
You guys have made your dining room so lovely. I know that your Thanksgiving guests are going really enjoy not only the food but also the beautiful ambiance that you have created in your dining room. Happy Thanksgiving to you both !!!!
Thank you so much. It is really lovely. And the food, wine and. And it will make it a lovely day. Kitchen and grand salon are also involved. It is exciting. Hugs from us and happy thanksgiving. 🥰💖🥰
Our first Christmas in our home we had bare floors boards and we let the children paint a fireplace on the plaster walls. Your video brought that little memory back to me. Just enjoy your celebrations. Everything you do is memory making.
Thank you so much. I love you telling your first Christmas story. How fantastic. ❤. It is amazing that our little vlog brought that memory back and I have an image in my mind now. Love it. Your comment is magical to me. Love from the Chateau de Colombe. 🥰💖🥰

Hello Catherine in gorgeous CA. I love your comment and we thank you so very much. This means the world to us. Thank you for watching and your support. Santé and happy thanksgiving from us at the Chateau de Colombe. 💖🥰💖

I love your comment. 🎉🍾🥂💖🥂🍾🎉
The dining room look great you do not notice the walls. So sorry 🥺 for the loss of your fencing, but you seem to take it very well. I think the French who live near the chateaus, are so grateful that people are willing to come and restore them. take care 😊 love and hugs.x
There is nothing so much that makes me feel sick at heart than discovering someone has taken something from me be it small or big. I am sorry that you kind men have had to endure this. I am glad that your friends in the community were outraged on your behalf. It is really wonderful to see how you have been accepted into the neighbourhood.
Thank you so much Eleanor. You describe the feeling perfectly. But the welcome here is wonderful. Much love from us here at Colombe. 😘🥰😘
O.M.G I can not believe what some people do to others it's beyond beggars believe you poor lovely men, hope you get some justice. Loving the dining room it's beautiful Patrick and Stuart hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving, see you both Sunday take care x 💕🌼🌼🤗

Well done gentlemen! Who needs paint when you have beautiful furniture, a chandelier, fun artwork, food and good friends?! Happy Thanksgiving and hugs from your friend Ginny in Georgia! 🥰
Hi there Ginny. I love your attitude. And you are absolutely right. Thank you so much. Much love and a happy Thanksgiving from us in Colombe. 🥰😘🥰
The animal sanctuary is well maintained and agree the donkeys and miniature horses are adorable. Kudos Patrick on repairing the exquisite clock and I like the chime. I like the way you both put events in perspective and completely agree with you about the theft. The dining room looks wonderful and I think you made a good decision. Do what’s right for you, as there will always be nay sayers. The chandelier in the dining room looks great, even if it is temporary. I like you both and will have some questions regarding relocating to France as things progress. Take care, Ralph Rocchiccioli
My dear Ralph. Thank you so much for your wonderful comment. The sanctuary is so well maintained and the people so kind. And the clock was such a lucky buy. My great grandmother’s clock has to hang on an angle. That gave me the idea. 😳👍🏻. The theft is a blow and one does feel violated. However, when our girl was missing, that was truly heartbreaking. I love the way you phrased that.
It is true, there are people who have an opinion 😉. That’s ok. But I think we have a lovely room and will enjoy thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years and then we demolish the kitchen…. 😮😮😮 Please feel free to contact us about any questions. I know it is stressful but do not hesitate to ask. Much love and hugs from us. 💖💕💖
As a Canadian we have Remembrance Day and wear poppies also on November the 11th. We have 2 minutes of silence on the 11day, at 11:00 am.
I understand we had to do our bungalow up so at the Christmas we had a new kitchen but the lounge and dining had newly plastered pink walls, so I put the Christmas tree up and put the food out and drink then invited all our new neighbours and the builders we had a great night😊
The chandelier looked amazing after the cleaning, must have felt rewarding.
Hi there Marg and Jim. It felt very rewarding. Such a big change. Was great when we saw it lit all sparkly. Much love from us at Colombe. 🥰😘🥰
How lovely to be invited by the Mayor to the Remberance service but so sorry to hear of the stolen gates and fencing that was a planned theft you need to think about security cameras. You have both already stolen my heart but even more so showing me Donkeys and Horses I just love them. The dinning room is fine you have made it cosy with your own furniture and ornaments. Enjoy your Thanks Giving meal .Love to all of you Xxxx
Hi Rosa. It was such a lovely invitation. Too bad thugs thought theft was OK. We are grateful for your support watching the vlog a d commenting and we are so happy you like the charity we support……. There will be 2 donkeys here one day. We know we will find our rescue pair. 😘🤗😘. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. 🥰💗🥰
Do what makes you happy….painting will come later. Shabby chic!
Bravo for you to have dinner with friends which is far more important than what the room looks like!
Thank you so much Albert. We are very excited to host our first full blown dinner party at the Château. Always love your comments. Huge hugs from Colombe. 🥰😘🥰
oh guys, i'm so sorry!!! I would never have thought that in that part of the world there would be thieves of that type. what a sad thing !!! On the other hand, how nice to see your furniture integrated into your new home. I always look forward to your vlog with great joy. A big hug from Buenos Aires
Whoops I was so caught up in the animals I forgot to say how gorgeous the dining room looks. Very tres chic and and famously French in only a way the French know how to do! Bravo
Dear Eric. That is sooooo very kind and nice of you. What a compliment. Thank you so much. 😘🤗😘
If that dining room is a hint of what’s ahead, it’s going to look wonderful.
Hello there Dale. Can I just say that I love your comment? Ok, I love your comment. 💖💕💖. We will carry this through the downstairs rooms ( and some of the upstairs bedrooms). Thank you so much. 💕💗💕
You both seem able to turn your hand to anything which is really interesting to watch. Sad news about the gates, but heartening to know that your local community seem ready to support and look out for you.
Thank you Mary. Very kind of you. I was really angry about the theft. But no point on dwelling on it. And the community has very much embraced and welcomed us. Have a great weekend and hugs from Colombe. 🥰🍁🥰
I think your Thanksgiving will be charming. You can all reflect in later years (and dinners) how much the chateau has changed and how grateful you are to live in such a beautiful place. YOU DO YOU! BTW... The dog portraits are so fitting.
Hello Maria. I think you are right and am looking forward to reflect in future dinners on how the chateau had come awake again. We will have a great time and thank you so much for your support for the last year. Means so much to us. Love from Colombe. 💖🥰💖🥰
Were those cranes that flew over? Fencing can be replaced and maybe thieves will be caught. Dogs far more important. Lots of treasures love it🎉
So sorry about the theft. Love the chandelier. Patrick you have lots of skills including reparing the clock. You both have good taste regarding furniture 👍from 🇳🇱
How lovely to see those otherwise neglected and tortured animals running so freely and now and having a happy life thanks to that wonderful organization. Good for you boys to help by shopping to your hearts content and supporting such a wonderful cause. I love you generous nature and your love for all animals. So refreshing to see especially during these times. Keep well and Happy and healthy lads we love the see the progress of your gorgeous Chateau. Bonne Chance and merci beacoup!
Hi there Eric. Thank you. We love that organization and hope next year to have the opportunity to adopt 2 donkeys. We need to make sure, we have the time for them. Seeing them there is just fantastic. We support multiple organizations of that nature. But yes, at this one we can shop too 🤗😂😉. We wish you a happy thanksgiving and please stay healthy. Hugs from us at Colombe. 😘💗😘
So sorry to hear about the theft - hope someone finds the items and returns them. Animal sanctuary so sweet - loved the dining room being jazzed up! Happy Thanks giving. From Australia.
Much love to you, Veronica, in Australia. Maybe someone turns the thieves in. I hope so. However, the sanctuary is amazing and all of our dogs are here. 🎉. Happy thanksgiving from,us at Colombe. ❤😊❤
The sanctuary brocante seemed nicer than most and the clock, magnifique. Can't help but think that the idiot that opened your gate and let the dogs escape could have possibly been "casing the joint." My gut says the thieves will be caught.
So sorry about the theft. Love the chandelier! Everything is looking great!
OMG! I’m so sorry to hear about your gate. That is heartbreaking💔 After all your effort with your fencing to keep your dogs contained and safe and that happens.
I am so sorry someone did that to you
It was lovely seeing you placing your items up and around the Château, making it home, nearly done guys. Finishing touches when curtains and paint is done. Then it’ll just be renovations as needed. 😉🤷♀️👍👏❣️
Hi Ina. I wish there weren’t all those pesky bathrooms to renovate. But I approach this exactly the way you do. Almost there! Lovely comment. Thank you so much. Hugs. 😘💖😘
Very lucky to find such a gorgeous chandelier! ☺🌹 Sonia McVicar
Hi Sonia. We loved it when we saw it. ❤😊❤. Thank you so much. 🥰💖🥰
Salut Stuart, Patrick et les chiens! Terrible that you were raided! Karma will deal to the thieves! Were those cranes flying overhead? Stunning! Thank you for showing us the donkey/horse sanctuary and associated brocante. The chandelier resurrection is fascinating. You are so multi-skilled! Love the "shabby chateau" treatment for Thanksgiving dinner! Your vlog makes my heart sing here in Queensland, Australia. 🤗
Some great things to buy at the Sanctuary…. Especially the mirrors. What’s that theft all about ? Was it valuable ? Time for a security system .
What a week, so sorry to hear about the theft of your fencing, but nice to know you have lovely neighbours to help out. I love the way you want to make a thanksgiving dinner for your new friends, that's what it's all about, it doesn't matter if you've not finished your dining room its about makibg you feel at home. The chandelire looks beautiful and so worth the effort of cleaning and rewireing all the crystals. Xxx
I think you should ignore opinions on your home frankly!! Your dining room is looking fabulous and whetting our appetite for the future. Of course you need to get your beloved belongings out now. Well done on your repairs Patrick. I see you had a foreman pooch making sure you got it right🤣🤣. Can’t wait for the gathering. ❤️💕❤️
What a perfectly wonderful comment. We love the atmosphere in the dining room. The salon is also prepped for thanksgiving. All faded wallpaper and such. 😂. We will have fun and enjoy our new found chosen family. I am glad to have the pooch supervisors! I’d be lost. 😂🥰👍🏻
Stuart your voice is Broadcast Perfect! You could easily host a radio program that plays dreamy music especially when you speak French......dreamy ❤️
Wow, that is very kind. Thank you, Virginia! ❤️
@@JourneytotheChateau don't be jealous Patrick be proud you have a fabulous partner! Love to you both❤️ I can't wait to see your Thanksgiving table with all your Guests between the two of you it will be SPECTACULAR!!
You are very clever men…So sorry to hear about your theft, particularly as it has to be someone, in the know…. Dont despair about the lack of whole turkey….all the parts take different cooking times, this way they will be all perfectly cooked, no more overcooked legs…..
Wow, the Sun going through the Crystals, stunning take. So sorry for the loss of materials, only shows how important it is to have good neighbours. The thieves thought you were without friends .. Im happy that you get around to connect with the people there
Isn’t that pretty?!? The sun and crystals are a match! We have truly been absorbed into the village. Nessa gone and the theft have helped us to meet our neighbors. Much love from us at Colombe. 😘💖😘
I was going to suggest hanging some decorative tablecloths or sheets to use like tapestries to cover your unfinished walls for the holidays, but once you hung your artwork and plates it looked fine. After all, your family and guests are coming to be with you, not critique your restoration progress. But, if they do, then put them to work...lol. Good luck with all the Thanksgiving preparations and food sourcing. 😋 Oh, on the plus side, a turkey in pieces cooks faster than a whole bird. 😉 ENJOY!
Beautiful chandelier! Snowy greetings from Canada!!! ❄️⛄️🇨🇦🇫🇷❤️❤️❤️
Ohhhhh. Noooooo. Snow. 🥶. I am not missing that. There are winters in our region without much snow. But, I love your snowy greetings. Much love from Colombe to you in Canada. ⛄️❄️🌧

@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 Oh my, it gets worse. Buffalo is being hit by a huge snowfall due to lake effects. A couple of feet for them if not more. The lake effect will continue into parts of southern Ontario and then eastern Ontario by the St. Lawrence River. It's not going to be fun to commute anywhere tomorrow and Saturday morning. Christmas weather comes early? Enjoy your weather, lucky dogs!!
My Thanksgiving this year will be spent in a nursing home where my youngest brother is under Hospice care for liver failure. We will be serving all his favorite foods. I am not posting this for sympathy, this is for all the silly people who are making a fuss about an unfinished dining room.People are more important than paint.
Patrick & Stuart..There were some beautiful pieces at the Animal Sanctuary, especially the side tables. I am so sorry your fencing was stollen, but you have such a good attitude about it. Hopefully, they will be found. I watch many Chateau vlogs and I am always surprised at some of the comments people make, such as, “why would you have Thanksgiving Dinner in a room not painted”? I say “why not”? I am sure your guest know you are renovating and would be understanding. It looks beautiful with your pictures and other items hanging on the walls. Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks for the abundance we have and for spending time with loved ones and friends. I have such warm memories and I am looking forward to time with my family, especially since my Mother passed away almost two weeks ago. Enjoy your Thanksgiving Day with all of the parts of your Turkey.
I Totally agree with you mamabear
Dear mamabear. Thank you very much for your comment. First, our deepest condolences for the loss of your mother. What a terrible loss. I will light a candle for her in our chapel. Some comments are a bit odd and your take on is wonderful and I think absolutely correct. No one cares and it is quite magical, when you are in the room. We wish you peace and a wonderful time with your family and friends this thanksgiving. Bless you. Much love from us at Colombe. 🤗🤗🤗
"I am always surprised at some of the comments people make, such as, “why would you have Thanksgiving Dinner in a room not painted”? " I fully agree with you ; I'm already surprised that people can find this inappropriate, but above all dare to ask the question. Whether for Thanksgiving or otherwise, we invite you to share a moment of conviviality, sharing, love and joy. These are the little moments of life that we want to share with the people we love and appreciate. And that's what makes us happy.
Bravo setting up your dining room! No need to have everything perfect to use your lovely dining room. Enjoy yourselves & be comfortable-life is meant to be lived!
Love your comment. Bravo and thank you. Life is meant to be lived….. Absolutely. 🥰💖🥰
I Really can imagine how your home will be when you finish but I hope you take the attitude of Rome wasn’t built in a day just take your time both your parents are aware how your home was in America just Beautiful and this one will be even better you two have exquisite taste in all you do God bless the both of you and I hope whoever stole from you will get caught what goes over the devils back goes under its belly they will get no luck xxxx
Love the Dinning Room decorations. Looks stunning already without paint. Those dog paintings make me smile. Enjoy your Thanksgiving
I think it’s important to “live” in your new home….even tho you’re renovating…👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Of course you want to decorate it now. I don't think it's good to leave beautiful things in boxes and I think it's important to make rooms feel like home, as soon as possible. You'll paint when you paint. It looks lovely and you have some gorgeous pieces.
Well, Patrick, you can do one thing for Tony,to help him . You can take over his painting job in his Gite.Tony hates painting and he has to do a whole lot, so help him out.
Morning Patrick & Stuart, we will always have the poor with us, so will the wicked walk amongst us!! That was disgusting and shameful that the wire and gates were stolen. Thank fully nothing else. or the property damaged. It is a sad loss but move on. It would be great if the police could track down the thieves and they get their just deserts. Maybe they saw the goods on the video and planned their raid perfectly. A thief has no conscience or they would return the stuff. The brocante was lovely, and loved the donkeys, they are in good condition. Yup, stuff in the house gets awfully dirty, it looks passable but if you are on a trip to freshen up we find shocking conditions. Nothing that soap and water does not clean so a bit of elbow grease and all is sparkling clean. I am sure the Thanks Giving is going to be a huge success. Remember, it is all about kindness and sharing. Those turkey pieces will work fine, sometimes better than the whole bird. I am sure you will have quite a busy week ahead of you, so wishing you all the very best, don't stress, just plan ahead it will all be fine, have fun whilst getting the goods together. Do take care, Kind regards, Elize.
You need to invest in a good security system with cameras etc. Tony might help you with its installation. Then you can safely cross the channel and repair my clock, Patrick. 😆 Love you marquetry table, it is stunning. Your decoration of the dinning room made the space instantly cosier and grander. Fantastic. Who needs paint on the walls when the walls are covered in art! I hope you will celebrate Thanksgiving day in style with your friends having lots of fun. Have a great one. ❤
Chandelier. What patience. Fantastic results. 🥳 💝👏👍

💕Ps Love the clock 🕰 I have a chiming clock in my house & grew up in a house with 5 chiming clocks which my parents love & it’s visitors that hear them more than we do💕
As we all know, when you own and collect antiques, you're always repairing something. And... your improvised, as you put it dining room looks so much better with all your furnishings and decor than designer rooms in high-end magazines. And a Thanksgiving dinner with turkey in parts will be just as good dinner with turkey as a whole one. Happy Holidays and enjoy, Mark
Yes, saves carving eh! 🤣
Hi Mark. Yes to repairs and I actually love the repairs. Now to you comment about the dining room walls……. And the design. I love your comment. So very kind and full of insight. Made my day. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and a huge hug from us at Colombe. ❤😊❤

Thank you. It’s true, we are learning new skills every week. Hugs. 😘💖😘
To clean all the glass parts of the chandelier, just soak them in hot water with a table spoon of kitchen soda. Rinse and ready.
Oh guys, I'm so sorry to hear that . Wish I could kiss and make it better xx
I hope they find your fencing and catch those responsible. ❤️🙏❤️ What a beautiful chandelier. I bet now, dirty items will have more appeal since they all may turn out to be so beautiful.
Thank you so much. I hope so too. Dirty has a new meaning. 🥰😉🥰. Great comment. 💖😘💖
So sorry about the fencing! Crime happens everywhere, we just hate it when that fact hits home. I am so glad about the Mayor's invite to the Armistice Day festivities. Becoming a part of your new community is so important! The animal sanctuary / brocante tour was great! I love the clock and the chime! The chandelier and dining room are lovely! It is not painted walls that make a house a home -- it is the love inside.
😍😍
My dear Larry. You are so right. Becoming part of the community is key. And we love ours. Armistice Day was very important. The theft was awful. But there are scummy people everywhere. But they are few. Glad you enjoyed the sanctuary and like our dining room. I think it is lovely and we are looking forward to celebrating. 😘. Hope all is well and I am glad the plumber was nice. 😘💖😘. Much love from us here at the chateau de Colombe. 👍🏻🦃👍🏻
Wonderful video, as usual! You guys have achieved shabby chic extraordinaire in your dining room! I love it 🥰 Hugs and Love 💕
I think it's time for discreet security cameras around the chateau. Someone Definitely knew the fencing was there, and that you weren't at home !!! But as you said nessa missing was worse, the dining room looks fantastic, what's the point of having beautiful thing and wonderful taste if you and others can't enjoy them !!!
Patrick and Stuart I’m so sorry about the gates. I’m amazed at the way you put things into perspective and move on gosh you are both an inspiration xxx I wish I could come and build gates and fences for you. No couple deserves more help and success. Your outlook and genuine natures are a rare qualities indeed. I hope you both have the best thanksgiving ever. Lots of love to you both xxxxx
Hi there dear Helen. Thank you very much for your kindness and wonderful comment. Made my day. 😊😊😊 Have a happy Thanksgiving and much love from us at the Chateau de Colombe. 💗💖💗
Beautiful clock
The dining room is beautiful who could possible expect it to be painted? You just moved there. Some people do not even start renovations until they have lived in a place for a year.
So sorry that you had fencing and gates stolen :(. Nice to be once more surrounded by familiar things and special treasures.
Spot on on both accounts. 💖🥰💖
May I recommend cameras on the property in hidden places.
Sorry you had a theft of your fencing. I really did not think this happened in your part of the world . Were we live we lock up everything. Your dining room looks very festive well done
I wasn't sure...but I think I like the unfinished walls!
Hi Jennifer Thank you so much. Yes we will install cameras but first we need more wires to have the electric. 😮. It was nice to be invited by the mayor. She is lovely. And it is an important day to commemorate the many fallen. We will absolutely enjoy Thanksgiving. There is really no point to wait living until everything is ready. 😉😘. I wish they’d place the donkeys but since they were all abused, they will live there for their entire lifespan. ❤❤❤. My dad will bring a goose for Christmas. 😊. Have a great weekend and much love from Colombe. 💖🥰💖
Lovely as always. ❤ Oh, my dears, I am so sorry about the break in. Nothing more unsettling than being burgled. Thank goodness it was nothing irreplaceable. ❤ I fully agree there is no reason to wait until the dining room is finished before setting it up to use. Some sense of normality is definitely a must, and who knows when it will be finished. And frankly, it was lovely by the time you were done, from what I could see. Even without a fresh coat of paint. And next year you’ll have all the more to be thankful for, once it’s all done. You might not have heard, but there is a huge turkey shortage in the states this year. Especially large turkeys. I might have to cook two for our group of twelve, because it is nearly impossible to find a bird over ten pounds. 😳 I’m thinking about switching it up to a rib roast or maybe both a small turkey and a ham. Looking forward to seeing your spread. Big hugs to you both. ❤❤❤
It is funny, that there are so many people who have such strong opinions on us putting furniture in the dining room before it’s done. We’d have to not have any furniture here at all, because there is not one room finished. 🤣🤪🤣. Quite honestly, it looks kind of interesting. And yes, next year, we can feel even more grateful. 😊
I did read about the avian flu and that millions of little turkey babies(ok chicks) had to be culled. Makes sense that there would be a shortage but who’d think about that! I love your ideas to bring it together. We know whatever you do it is going to be a fabulous thanksgiving dinner. Hugs and kisses and I will wear the pink apron (pink makes me look like Miss Piggy floating in space). Much love from us 💖🥰💖
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 😂😂😂 OMG! That’s quite a vision emblazoned in my mind. Who doesn’t love Miss Piggy??? Can’t wait to see that. The pink was my favorite, though I loved them all. I should’ve ordered one for myself. Perhaps I will… 😀 Of course, if I did a rib roast, I would have to change the entire menu. And I really do love the classics. So we’ll see how it all turns out. Hopefully I’ll be able to find a large turkey somewhere. ❤️
Hello there (next week there will be aprons….. just saying) 😙😉. It was awful and the community is angry on our behalf. I feel violated and not in a good way 🤣. But as I said, Nessa missing was really awful and we will figure out how to replace it. It is stuff. You lost your baby. That is truly awful. Ok…. Enough said. 🤪😳🤪
@@jaysonbelyea8981 it is a vision……. Better unseen. 🤣. But we all will. I love that aprons. Thank you very much. My dear, you’ll wear one someday when you come visit. 💋😘💋
How lovely to be taken in as part of the community so quickly! ♥️ Ugh, the fence! Grrrrr… what more can I say? Great work saving the gaming table - a lovely piece! I totally understand your reasoning behind moving into the dining room. Indeed it’s important to feel at home. The duct taped curtain solution is brilliant. When you have it all “just so,” this will definitely be a staple of your “Thanksgivings to remember” stories! My sister and I still vividly recall when we in college and transformed our dreary basement apartment by adding a home made painted “flagstone” fireplace, with a massive oak (painted cardboard) mantle for the stockings etc. Of course, your efforts go way beyond ours and are in a space with incredible bones, so the result is correspondingly more successful. ♥️ I did want to take an hour, a wide paintbrush and some very watered down white paint and turn the white blotches into a temporary large impressionistic chinoiserie floral, which I think would have suited the background of the mottled sunshine yellow old paint, but that’s me. 😉 And it would have taken far more than an hour for me to fly + drive there from the midwestern US - I know you don’t have time for such shenanigans. 🤣 I guess I haven’t gotten over the fireplace. 😉♥️ What an amazing chandelier rescue! Tony is a total sweetheart and skilled to boot! And you two could never be accused of not working hard enough to transform your space. ♥️♥️♥️
Thank you, Peni!💕
Hello there Peni. Grrr is right. We hope we will get the fencing back….. Even though it’s unlikely. But it was unlikely that Nessa would survive 9 nights in the forest. 🤗🥰🤗. It is likely we will remember this Thanksgiving for a long time. 👍🏻🦃👍🏻. I love how you transformed your basement apartment with your sister. What a great story and memory. 🥰. We would have loved to have you hear and transform our walls. The image I have in my mind is so pretty. Tony is wonderful, and so is Jane. Thank you for knowing how diligent we work every day. Much love from us here at Colombe. 😘🥰💖
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 I'm so glad that now you have the fireplace truly transformed in your kitchen now (3/29/2023)! ♥♥♥ Much more satisfying than our cardboard fireplace (though a lot more work). 😄 Not just a theater prop - the real thing. 😉
Patrick, is there anything you can't fix? The clock is exquisite; I see why you had to have it, and the chime is lovely. Love to see you prepping the dining room for the upcoming "friendsgiving." I loved your comment about thinking in three languages, Patrick. When I was learning Italian I kept lapsing into French! Tough. Keep smiling, guys. I have faith your stolen fence will be returned to you.
I think your dining room has come together very nicely. Well done!
Thank you so much Jeff. I do appreciate your comment very much. 🥰😘🥰
Use Tea Tree oil very small drops to remove glue from stickers . HAPPY THANKSGIVING 🦃🦃🦃💞 great job with Chandelier it's beautiful and I love the Dog paintings how lovely xx
👍🏻 thank you. ❤
Beautiful room in all it's faded glory. It will be stunning when it is restored ❤️. So sorry for the theft! Nobody was hurt and no damage to your home, so that's good. It's amazing what a little bit of soap and water and some TLC can do! What a lovely chandelier but definitely too small for the room. It's very beautiful and created such a lovely glow.
