@@savesutd91 Not if that's only what they do. He adds to that that there's no side or diagonal runs except for very specific players like some icons, Haaland and MBappe. Lots of times there are lots of space besides the defenders and the attackers usually only make back and fooward runs, running into the the defenders way, like we were supposed to always use L1 to command them to run differently, like dealing with 71 depth lack of space to pass or dribble wasn't enough.

I've been saying that since like Fifa 15. Scripting is just undeniably a thing. The odds of you locking a guy down all half and him miraculously scoring in the 45th or 90th min is not only incredibly improbable but basically impossible when you consider it probably happens to each of us multiple times throughout the year.
Gaming companies, game developers hear me out, look at the game market, this is your chance to change your life. Give us a football game but don’t sell it to EA. Come on young people make it great again.

A hypocrite in this context would be someone who only complains about the game when things aren't working in their favor but loves the game otherwise. Inception is consistently critical, even when doing his job. I also never understand this logic of "if you don't like it don't play". If you went to a restaurant and ordered food that came out undercooked, you would want your money back or your dish exchanged. And if they told you "oH wElL iF yOu DoNt LiKe iT dOnT eAt It" without rectifying the situation you would be upset, and rightfully so. Even tho you have enough disposal income where the 100 for the meal is insignificant, it's the principle. If y'all are so content with this game, then keep it moving. There's a REALLY big problem with games wanting to be more realistic, because they will never be the reality. You can't control the movement, positioning and everything of the 11 players at the same time, you can't force multiple players to make the runs you want them to do, etc... One great example is GTA. Imagine having to stop mid heist to fcking put gas on your car's tank, while the police is pursuing you! It would just make the experience of the GAME worse!! That's why this situation is so absurd, nobody can make me think that it's acceptable for a player to not hit the most obvious chip shots in football history just because the player doesn't have the chip shot playstyle.
That is just false, Did you learn nothing from OAI Sora? Graphics have been linear since the dawn of gaming so that won't change, games will continue to look closer to reality until it is near impossible to distinguish what and isn't real. In terms of the Gameplay aspect you are all over the place. here are the assumptions you are making: -Everything must be in control of the user at all times. -Adding gas to your vehicle in GTA is an objectively bad feature (It's your subjective opinion at best) -That EA FC play-styles are realistic all of these are baseless.

@@FactsWithActs well, I am refering to gameplay, so I'll respond to the second part... -Obviously, it is impossible to control all 11 players, but my point was that the game will never be realistic in that manner bc they will always rely on player switching and AI (in which, at least for eafc24, is almost non-existent). -Adding gas to gta was just an exemple, but it really fits in as it IS objectively bad for the purpose of the game! There are plenty of reality focused car games, and GTA isn't even a game about cars!!! -Play-styles are conceptually realistic, but the way some of them are implemented causes it to be unrealistic! For example the "Long ball pass" playstyle, that makes it more difficult for the opposing team to intercept the pass. Again, the execution is different than the concept. This mechanic makes your player, even when he's exactly under the landing point of the ball, randomly miss it!

Last monday to wednesday i made a push from low div3 to div1 cuz i had time to finally try out. In 3 days i ve maybe (and its actually just maybe) i lost around 5-6 games at max and i won around 20. I made it into div1 with ease and then went on to win more games, so if wasnt for the season reset, i would have been in elite at thursday. But hey, its pretty fucking much not the case. I just cannot score a fucking goal sincs thursday. I feel like everyone defending with 12 people and my attacking ai is around semi beginner level if you know what i mean. The gane feels slow af, my toty best is like a gold rashford and just pretty much cant do nothing, because they be missing open net shots. There js no way that i “forget” how to play the game or anything like that

Fifa 23 was different with those bicycles. This year it isn't as easy to score them I've found.

I'm one of the calmest people I know. But this game literally brought out the demon inside me that even I didn't know existed. Last weekend, playing the FUT champions, at one point I got so frustrated that I picked up the controller and threw it as hard as I could against the wall, with the sole intention of breaking it. Never have I ever, broken anything in life out of frustration (I'm 27 btw and I mean never have I ever part here). A piece of the controller bounced back right at my eye and I had only I fraction of a second to react, managed to close my eye, but I got a really bad cut on my outer eyelid and under my eyebrow from the impact. That's that. I'm never touching this game again!

Agreed on the homework base, etc friendly match max 5 per day, objectives play 3 matches for exp or packs. That means you need to be logging on every day just to play all of this. It’s difficult to keep up especially if you have to work shifts
I got all the time in the world but I choose not too play online game’s horrible to play competitive it’s just not fun I have much more fun building a squad and playing against my son at weekends
Always been someone who would play fifa until the summer was always kinda addicted to the game until this year lol after TOTY I haven’t played once. I’ve always loved the grind of menus and objectives and things like that but this year everything was ruined

This year the game is all about machine learning that determines gameplay and packs. 1) Gameplay Futchamps - Based on your historical data, the game determines how many wins you usually get. EA will then manipulate the gameplay of equivalent games and give you forced losses. Misplaced passes, defenders running away rather than marking, midfielders ball watching instead of intercepting, no headers won, your all players marked vs opponents free roam plus many more are simply adjusted gameplay a.k.a DDA/scripting. Worst part is where you know what your opponent is going to do yet you can’t do anything just because of gameplay adjustment your players are bronzed. These forced losses go to weak players (no offence) so that they enjoy playing, feel pro and continue to play more. 2) Rivals gameplay - Sweaty as Nick always refers is common for all. Once again all these adjustments apply during the matches specially during the last matches before promotion. EA wants you to spend hours playing just to get that promotion. No wonder the amount of draws are significant. 3) Pack luck - Once again EA learns the amount of time you spend on trading and SBC. If they give you a top rated card frequently then would you spend more time on trading or SBC? Of course not. They know you will spend time on console, web app or companion so they will restrict your account from top rated cards. All packs have equal weight is all BS. Having played this game for past 20 years and then you get forced losses is not what I expected from your childhood favourite game. Anyway the game is dead for me. Will not be wasting a $ more on this from next year.
Finally someone who understands how manipulated gameplay is depending on a users abilities. Beginners or less skill players get massive amounts of assitance and good players get alot less assistance. It's why I have so many games where I need 15 shots from 1v1s just to score 3 or 4 goals meanwhile my opponents will do such simple things and get space always like my AI are zombies and ofcourse my opponents score off every shot and thry have 3 or 4 shots. This game is so obviously gers adjusted. I've never lost to so many bad player's before this game. I get 15 to 18 wins In champs. I've seen pros get destroyed by guys that are so bad at the game. Ea don't even try to hide it anymore.

About playstyles, I've always saw this as a problem, even for career mode, back when it was called traits. Like, we have young academy where we can breed new players, but we couldn't get them new traits, and now we can't get them new playstyles. And for them to come with a playstyle/trait at all is very rare. So we can get 99 rated young players who suck at short fast passong because they don't have "tiki taka", who don't know how to shoot outside the box because they don't have "power/trivela/finesse shot". And now it's the same nightmare online, because of the gap between having playstyles or not. BUT... If they at least added a way to get any playstyles for any player, like an evolution or a "training consumable", it would at least be less worse. Because there would be a way around it. But no. We need Eusebios to finish decently, Xavis to pass properly, Van Dijks to win headers etc. The saddest thing is seeing the game has a great potential and EA just trows it down the toilet.

@@PaylessNikes Lol... They can have them when they first pop up in the academy, but that's about it. It's rare and they can't get new ones. I've seen people saying the playstyle they have can go plus after the related stats get past 80 or something, but I didn't play career mode enough this year to see it. This was a reason for me not to play it too.

Gameplay WL this past Saturday was the worst I’ve had. I felt as if my players were playing underwater. They need to invest in actual servers and not p to p connection.
You can't blame the devs. You work for a company, have a project manager who is forced to get you to work on more micro transactions/packs who gets pushed by the board to generate more revenue to grow the company. Greed if anything. As for gameplay, they won't care because you keep buying packs and spending money. The second that takes a big decline they will start to listen.

I could tell early on this game cycle that FIFA 23 was clear. It’s a real shame, it felt like the end of an era. They even put together probably the best soundtrack on any fifa ever by combining the best songs from past fifas, there weren’t any TOTY Messi’s being handed out, and packing good players was still a nice feeling. This year, it’s a drag to do anything - I have to force myself to finish WL, this coming from a rank 1/2 player.. what’s the point it never feels fulfilling. I already have an end game team with TOTYs, icons, best SBCs, thankfully I’m still a RTG type of player so if I were to quit now all I would’ve lost would’ve been time, I feel for all the people who have spent their hard earned money on this garbage

Nick it was great to hear your rant. After hundreds of dollars into Fifa for the last few years, I quit completely this year and switched to eFootball. Do I miss Fifa? Yes. But was I going to take another year of the trash they put out, the gambling, the terrible gameplay? No. And eFootball is certainly not complete in any way or a real competitor, but at least it feels REALLY good when you dribble around their players and score a quality goal. Like you earned it. Respect to you for being self aware!

I play 4-3-3 (2-5) and have been able to find a way to play my favourite kind of football which is a blend of total football, tiki-taka and gegenpressing. I've been doing this for the past 3 years, but the funniest thing about it is watching the dichotomy of my opponent playing really robotic and programmed fifa ball while I play a simulated, video game version of real football. I kind of understand playing the full meta in elite, I never did, but I get it. Today I like to chill in div 5-4 and still see people playing the meta, like why? For a jumbo gold pack? Anyway, I hope EA fixes some of the issues man. The game can be so much better, aspects have stagnated, some have gotten worse and other aspects are better.

I normally play 30-40+ days per year but after TOTY Messi debacle and not packing anything I haven’t logged in since and I’ve been enjoying PS5 games since, miss fifa 17-21 vibes when you not every pack is untradable and promo cards are 4.5m that should be 1-1.5m they’ve burned this game into the ground with greed.

We really had no idea what we had until we lost it. Fifa 14/15 F9 with IF totti if el sha and 7 chem cr7. Atleast the game was good enough and i was passionate enough to break controllers over, past few years ive just been apathetic. Its such a shame how bad fifa has gotten. I remember the adrenaline rush of that FIFA 17 style of play. My tika taka style of play was hard to beat…and a slower ST like Lewandoski with top tier finishing were always in the right position. I'm writing this at the 45th minute (approximately) of the video (and stayed to the end), and it made me remember the time I started playing FIFA, which was like 1998 (yes, I'm old; I'm 46). But why this now? This huge text? Because I'm enjoying FC 24... and hear me out: just like you, I love football, and I'm from a time that football games didn't have an online option; it was all offline. So, the online thing that became very exciting to me was the Ultimate Team game mode (when it was day-viewed, and I don't remember when); so, the possibility of creating your own squad, with legends of the past (I've seen R9, R10 the infamous Dinho, Henry, Platini, Zidane, Maldini, Baresi, Totti, Buffon, Alexi Lalas, Tony Meola, Kaka, Rogério Ceni, Romário, Bebeto, Zico, Raí, Matthaus, Voller, Klinsmann, Maradona, Careca, Redondo, Riquelme, Simeone, Zubizarreta, Guardiola, Butragueño, Caniggia, Crespo, Gullit, Van Basten, Rijkaard, Owen... and so on... LIVE) became to me something amazing; impossible to resist. I quit fifa around 2008 (because life happened) and then, around 2018, when my son told me about a draft game mode where you could pick Pelé, R9, Gullit, I came back. I dove into FIFA like a kid with a new toy. But I still don't play online. You can judge me. It's fine. I come home, play my football game, on squad battle mode (professional or sometimes international), with my God squad, and have fun; the online option of buying and selling players and squad building is enough. I don't need to play in the competitive mode (not everyone needs the online modes, I guess). Furthermore, I'm not a very good player, I'm really a casual player, but it feels good and it's fun (for me at least) when I crash the AI with a 5x0 score. And the best this year's addition is the women (not evos for me). I also like the SBCs and I put some money as well for pack opening fun purposes. Well, this video of yours inspired me to write this. Hope it can somehow relate to someone or even to you. Peace out!
its quite nice to see someone enjoying this game, but the issue with the competitive game modes is that it gets people addicted. Like when you play the first month or two and you pack a very good player, you get very excited to try the card out. And after a couple of days you will go back to normal, but will try to find the same excitement you got and try to get another good player. Here you have two options 1. spend money(which is their goal) 2. play more to get more packs. After a while you pack someone good and then go back to normal. So you are stuck in this cycle of trying to get good players which usually results in people gambling with 100s of dollars to get good players. But overall the game itself is fun when playing casually with friends or against AI.

Playstyles didn't add to the game, they removed functions already on cards from stats and removed them from anyone who doesn't have the PS. Basically made everyone without it worse rather than those with it better.
the defensive playstyle issue is the worse. My 88 evo konate has perfect 99 tackling stats with a shadow, with 97 strength and 90 aggression but will still just get the worst tackling animations, or none at all sometimes, when he is literally tea bagging the football he's that close, all cos he doesn't have anticipate regular or plus.
SBC rant around 1:50:00 is bang on. The ratio is 1 good to 5 bad player sbc's, so duplicate fodder ends up in the Icon player picks, which inevitably give sh!t players out too!
i did the Lloris SBC and was pumped, finally managed to upgrade my Pope, and he is absolutely TRASH
Ea know this it's one of the reasons thry give so many dupes because it encourages you to empty more fodder to use dupes

Playstyles is the worst thing that ever come to fifa. I haven’t played last year and watched some videos… the passes you could play and now the game is trying to tell me that players cant play a simple through ball without incisive pass.

Abou the 442 example at 54:40... Im always playing basic 442 with default settings. Ok I gave Messi false 9 so he falls back a little and fullbacks on stay back and overlap, but im doing that since fifa 18. Otherwise im on default settings and my team STILL parks like crazy. No matter what depth I play and how aggressive my tactics are, my team is all the time behind the ball.
I always remember where I am when the yearly rant video drops.
So right about the tactics i usually like mixing it up this year, its 532 4411 or 4321. 433 feels better than recent years but there no point as it a just a worse version of 4321
I'm playing currently with Wildcard Courtois and when it comes to defending corners and making corners Courtois is insanely overpowered.

I’ve noticed most people that complain about this game, and its gameplay enjoy Football/Soccer. They’re making this game more like a hack and slash where everything is RINSE AND REPEAT!! The logical sense of Football/Soccer is none existent in this game. Literally I play videos games to PLAY them, but instead we have to let the game do the work for us because gameplay is just horrible. I miss the days were you didn’t need META. You could actually use LOW RATED players and have fun. This is my opinion on the topic of discussion.
8:00 the most BS switching the game does is selecting either RB or LB but never your CB so you can block the run 🤣 and the Full backs always tend to run away from the damn attacker instead of towards them.

the thing that gets me the most is when a top striker shoots even a basic shot, our top keepers don't save it. How is it mbappe can score with hardly any power against a van der sar but a 100% power shot with an average player pulls off a worldie save?
I personally like Playstyles. If we are going for the realistic vibe then it makes sense that certain players are better at certain things and not everyone can do anything. The players are also different in real life.

I don’t like the auto switches when I comes to loose balls. Bro I hate waiting like 4 seconds for the ball to come down and my L1’s switches me to another player. Then VVD comes and slam dunks over my smooth brained ai. I stopped playing seriously and just been playing for objectives. It sucks bc I’m very competitive and champs sometimes is fun. At least I’m young enough to play irl but I couldn’t imagine being a football enthusiast and EAFc is your only option

The game definitely messes with your in game ai and abilities. One minute I’m smashing a decent player 5:0 next game my defence play like dogshit, not running back, leaving open spaces with same formation and I’m losing 6:0.
