Adam kinda deserved it though tbh, 1) Don't gloat until you actually have the money. 2) Don't show your ticket to anyone, just take a photo of your ticket if you only have a physical copy. 3) Buy online so its attached to your account, that way its impossible for anyone to take it or for you to lose it.

Good thing this doesn't happen in a country where you have to be registered to play the lottery, so the system knows who won, and the company calls you instead of you contacting them.
Good thing such things can't happen if your not a tool.
Even in countries where you don't it can't really happen. All you do is file a report saying it was theft and they can verify through CCTV if you bought the ticket or not. Since the tickets are registered they would know what location and around the time the ticket was sold.
My anxiety kicked in as soon as he set the lotto ticket down and Rowan had easy access to it.

*Fan theory: This was all a scheme by Adam, Alan, and Ellie!* Here's what actually happened, and I will explain why: 1. Adam was venting to Alan and Ellie about how much he hates Rowan, wishing he could say it to Rowan's face. 2. Alan and Ellie devised a plan to allow Adam to tell Rowan off. 3. Ellie took some time off to make a fake lotto ticket because let's be honest, she's getting paid enough.....Adam took some time off to think of everything he wanted to say to Rowan.....Alan covered both their shifts because we all know he's the MVP. 4. The video 5. Adam, Alan, and Ellie all watch and rewatch the footage from the hidden camera while drinking beers together after work, laughing their asses off. They all, especially Adam, have now regained enough morale to keep going. Every time one of them feels down about their job, the others just put their arms around their shoulders and say, "Remember, Rowan's a millionaire." And then they all laugh hysterically. How do I know this is what happened? Because: a. The chances of Adam winning the lottery are extremely low. b. The chances of Rowan trying to screw Adam are extremely high, and everyone at Playtech knows that. c. We know that Adam, Alan, and Ellie have each others' backs, especially when it's them against Rowan. And we've seen them conspire against Rowan (see "Cookie Revenge" and later "Return of the Cookie"). d. There is no way Rowan would have continued working at Playtech if he actually had a million dollars. He has already demonstrated that he would rather spend his time on a beach in Fiji given the funds. *So: Big prank on Rowan that everyone else will be enjoying for a long time.*

Don't they have security cameras? He could just call the cops and they could see what happened on the camera BTW if anyone who reads this finds out they did win a million $. Then I would recommend not quitting. At least, don't burn down any bridges because there is no way you can live off of such little for the rest of your life. Put the money in some investments and let it grow after you buy the handful of things you want or need.
You're not including inflation and what not. But yes, you could live for 20 or so years. But after that, what do you have? Depending on your age you will have to go back to work WITH NO MARKETABLE SKILLS (assuming you lived like a bum). Like all you would be able to show on a resume is you last worked about 20 years ago, and you most likely didn't even attend school during that time. And since the world obviously changed a bit in that time. Your skills are gone, you can't show you will show up to work & stick around, and most of your contacts are most likely not in contact with you anymore by 20 years time. And giving you or someone you love gets hit with something like cancer, then that will eat the bulk of your money. I think it's best to stay at a job until you can retire. Even more if you have benefits and what not. Like you can walk away for a good 6 months. But I think after that, you really need to at least show you can show up for work and hold a job. This is a major thing that screwed me over when I went to work for myself. When talking to many companies about getting hired or what I can improve. That is the single biggest thing all of them mention since by working for myself I make my own hours and what not.
