    • Same! I had the worst experiences at different dentists for so long that I simply got too scared and stopped going for YEARS. Up until recently, I decided that it was time to get empowered and overcome my fear of the dentist. I went, got my wisdom teeth removed and now I'm actually excited to keep taking care of my teeth! And these videos have been soooo helpful.

  • I had my first regular teeth cleaning in 9 years. My hygienist made note that my gums are very healthy and she barely found any tartar. I did have some pre-cavities though (incipient cavities) and I did need a crown on a molar that was cracked but to hear my gums are nice and healthy was amazing. I attribute this to me drinking a gallon of water a day and always swishing water after I eat. Matter of fact, swishing the water around in my mouth was something I always did even before I knew it was a benefit! I also eat a ton of dairy (keto)

Then in Sept began eating the bad foods. Gained a few lbs, not lots back. Now Christmas Season with choc. N candy canes n desserts. In the new year I'm definitely going back to healthy eating. Those healthy foods for teeth also give us energy. While the bad teeth foods make us sluggish. Thanks for all your great info. Been watching u the last 2 weeks. I am excited to go to my dentist in the new year.

  • Great Video! I have a gum recession issue in few teeth due to harsh and excess brushing over course of 10 years. This has resulted in severe tooth sensitivity every time I eat something cold, apply tooth paste etc. My dentist carried out a deep cleaning of my mouth resulting in lot of blood etc. Thereafter, he has done two types of filling, GIC and bonding (white cement like substance) to cover the exposed roots. My main moral had a very long exposed root. I got a lot of relief with that. However, over course of few months only I started developing sensitivity and spacing in upper jaw (lower jaw had bonding done by dentist) near morals. I have now corrected brushing technique, toothpaste and tooth brush, all. I am even doing salt water gargals, flossing etc. to keep teeth healthy. Also, I do not have any cavity. due to lifestyle or brushing issue.

  • I just want to say thank you to whitney for these helpful and inpiring videos, because I come from generations of english people who didn't know how to look after their teeth or teach me how to, and some even afraid of dentists all together! this fear was passed onto me, and I was not encouraged to go dentist or make appointments! Since watching your videos I have gone from yellow stained teeth mainly from smoking and coffee, to clean white, almost as white as my eyes so quick! You've inspired me to quit smoking, start eating healthier foods daily and regular use water floss and tooth picks! These things are really more important than tooth paste because that didn't work and I'd still have to go dentist and bleed. It was seeing how quick you got rid of plague & tarter with just a water jet that inspired me to do these other things, that there was still hope of getting my smile back! Lucky for me, I don't eat sugar sweets chocolate or drink beers, fizzy drinks etc so never had fillings or teeth removed! I am so pleased and greatful to you, whitney!. I have been able to get my teeth to a point I can smile at someone and I will be able to smile more on my music production videos or live stream, rather than being off camera thanks to you!..i'm forever greatful to you teeth girl, thank you so much. :D

I'm just not very good at it at all and you know, couple that with the paralyzing fear of going to the dentist...or Odontophobia if you will...you can see why things could turn bad really quickly. I'm always looking for a better diet for my teeth. I realize I'll have to cut sugar and consider that list of yours, but thank you again for this information

And also that not every tooth has to be couretaged and ı didint much understand this part because ı thought that these procedures had to be applied all over the mouth but they will do a plaque cleaning allover but the couretagge to only some teeth. Oh I hope I will recover. You are my tooth fairy please wish me kuck and would much appreciate if you answer about the 'no cutting and stitching' part thank tou so much and peace love and teeth

  • I am a recovering opioid addict who has been subscribed suboxone. This medication has been a life saver, but bad for my teeth. I believe that there are 2 reasons for this: #1- Suboxone is highly acidic and has to be dissolved under the tongue. #2- And this is the one I may be incorrect about, but one of the side effects of this medication is dry mouth, and this is bad for teeth. I have been using the subscription toothpaste (1.1% fluoride) and this seems to have halted my dental issues.

  • Apples are good for your health but as any sugary acidic fruit it may cause the decay as well. Apples do not clean your teeth, you still need to rinse your mouth and brush it 30 minutes after you consumed acidic foods. Acid softens your enamel, so if you brush it right away it, you may actually damage it more. It also depends on your teeth density, some people have strong teeth, some folks have thin sensitive teeth. So, there is no one solution for all.

  • In a previous video about harmful foods for teeth you said tea was acidic and would break down your enamel but in this one you mention the fluoride it contains is good for you teeth. Also there is an issue of dry mouth from the caffeine it contains right? (Even decaf has small amounts of caffeine) I drink green tea regularly so is it good or bad? Additionally about the nuts, don't they contain phytic acid that blocks the absorption of calcium, phosphorous, zinc, Iron and a few others? I have been reading up on things and have found so much conflicting information. Also I like oat bran for its other great benefits I've always known about but recently discovered it contains physic acid. Is the physic acid it contains hurting my teeth by blocking my absorption of these essential vitamins and minerals? I would much appreciate your response and enjoyed your video. Thank you!

  • It's generally a great list and presented very well. Thank you. You did not include red meat, which requires chewing, is full of vitamins and minerals and natural fats and proteins that our teeth and gums need desperately. Our ancestors, prior to the package food revolution, ate as much meat, fish, eggs, dairy as they could. And it was all grass fed and wild caught

  • Actually people who consume more dairy have more osteoporosis and inflammation in body. folic acid is not in greens, folic acid is the synthetic form of naturally found folate.5-MTHF is the predominant natural dietary folate and its much better to get. And green tea which is awesome in multiple ways causes most of the teeth yellowing, more even than coffee

  • I just realized i dont have any black triangles in between my teeth. Ive looked at videos of bad teeth so much i honestly forgot that my teeth arent that bad even though i brush them at least 2 times a day and floss once a day lmao! Can you also tell me is it good to have your teeth really close togerher? Mine were extremelu close when i was younger now they arent as close anymore(im 24) and the dental flossers fit between my teeth easily but trying to floss with dental floss is just painful because i literally have to yank the floss out(and dentist have had to as well they honestly pulled so hard i was afraid they would lossen my teeth)

    • I have a same case and i enquired my dentist about it. He said i should floss once a week if i want to. You should ask your dentist about it he can guide you about the same

    • snacking is worse for teeth than eating full meals all at once. always rinsing with water after (whether it's a snack or a meal) is good! hope this helps!

  • I’m 60 and feel my teeth are as good as when I was 20. The dentist said I have really good teeth but seems 1/2 my mouth is fake. I eat almost everything on this list as my main diet. After lunch I usually refill Diet Coke as swish that around.

  • In another video you said tea was bad for your teeth because it dries out the mouth and causes cavities. Is green tea the ONE exception? Or do I still have to worry about dry mouth?

    • Green tea is alkaline and has natural anti-bacterial and plaque-reducing properties. So it is a great drink. She was probably talking about coffee or black tea.
