Fun to watch - just highlights how far ahead Spacex really is both in the hardware and programming. That was the hardest soft landing I’ve seen.
The dust cloud is the retrorocket thrusters on the bottom, not the capsule itself hitting the sand. It looks rough but it probably is a really soft landing. I'm saying this as a SpaceX fan. Just fairly pointing out what your eyes see.
@@iMeatbag agreed, still love the spacex rockets more
@@Jaysin999 Agreed, but in my opinion they are apples and oranges. It's like comparing a 747 to a prop engine, private aircraft.
@@iMeatbag Speed indicator went from 17mph to 0 at the same moment when dust cloud started to form up, parachutes remained fully inflated till that moment, and few secs later you can hear loud sound , which sounds more like crash than thrusters engaging. Looks more like no thruststers got engaged at all and it just crushed. So more likely that your eyes see what they see.
@@AG-ig8uf Yes, using your limited knowledge of the situation and complete lack of extra research to base your entire argument on. Good for you! You win Internet points! FYI, I've actually looked into it. It is much slower than the data on your screen suggests. Second FYI, the data on your screen has latency and is not accurate. It is a rough estimate to give you something to look at. This is why they needed to wait for accurate altitude data rather than just rolling through the video stream frame by frame to see what the highest number was. Sorry you're more willing to fight some stupid argument you legitimately know NOTHING about instead of spending 5 minutes to Google the correct answer. Last FYI, you're not very smart and should probably stick to 5 minute crafts videos.

@JedStrogan It reaches 3,568 km at 41,000ft - yep, that's supersonic.. Also, in a test launch it reached Mach 1.2. It's not about acceleration.
@JedStrogan Yea but we were talking about speed, not acceleration. Look man, all I was saying is that it went supersopnic. That's all.
A guy that jumped off a balloon went supersonic going face down on his belly and spinning like crazy. Very blunt
@JedStrogan the so called terminal velocity is ridiculously high past the stratosphere. This was a famous attempt from a custom made balloon and the skydiver was wearing space suit.
@JedStrogan Gravity is not the factor that limits the speed of the fall but the air friction. That's why at high altitudes when the air is thinner, the terminal velocity is much greater than at sea level even though the gravity is weaker, though almost negligibly weaker.
I'm confident that landing was anything but gentle. Notice they didn't give a close up of that part.
