Barack Obama made a surprise visit to my town of Bloomington, Indiana (March 11th 2008). Music by The Hooters, "Man In The Street" from their CD, Amore. They are an independent rock band from my home town of Philadelphia. This is their version of The Skatalites' "Man In The Street," a live demo from the very first Hooters recording session in 1980, which was also the band's first song to be heard on the radio. I think it was first played by Pierre Robert, WMMR-FM 93.3. Pierre, correct me if I'm wrong.
The Hooters are an independent label band, so the only way to buy 'Amore' is through their web site www.hootersmusic.com/ Just click on store and then the album 'Amore'. There's a choice between cd and lp. It's only $12, and worth it from start to finish.
I highly recommend this album. It's one of the best that came out of the early 1980's that most people, except those of us who grew up in Philadelphia, know about. It's definitely a hidden treasure.
This was a lot of fun. I can't recall this much enthusiasm among people since RFK in 1968. I'm happy to have been able to have been a part of it.
God bless America! I'm ready to get my country back after many many years in the wilderness.
I miss him already
I love itttttttttttt!
Believe it or not, this song is THE HOOTERS from Philly. This was their first single here in Philly. I can't believe they used this song in the Obama photage. Glad you like it. They were a great party band to see live :) Take care - let 's hope for the best in this election.
Absolutely inspiring...I like the music too:D 5 stars
Yeah? I'm from Philly. I grew up listening to them on 'MMR. I made this video - not the Hooters. I live in Indiana now and Barack Obama came to my town. This is video of him here - I just added the music. I'm hoping for the best too. And, after quite alot of thought, I'm voting for the most qualified candidate. Just 13 days left until President-elect Obama!
Thanks Jim, I hope you didn't mind me using your very cool WFHB footage as part of my video. I appreciate you putting yours up there too. I was on Kirkwood to make a quick stop at Monroe Bank and left just about 5pm Friday. So, I just missed Obama. Could have kicked myself. Your footage put me back in the vibe. ~Scott
He signed his name upstairs at Nick's English Hut on Kirkwood.
England for bama! Wohoo!!

Thanks for the comment by the way - I never thought anyone actually would see anything I put up here. Go Phillies '08!

Ain't that the truth!
You don't need a God because I'm here now!!!
It's called sarcasm, to bad you don't get it.
