    • Vanos on the M50/M52 engine is actually pretty easy to maintain. Try going at the Vanos in the M54 or N52 engine, that's a hassle.

    • I didnt even know there was a check engine light.. Mine must be burnt out xD Got an airbag and brake pad light on all the time, and my OBC says "CHECK COOLANT LEVEL" for like 30 seconds everytime I turn it on or off. It's fine btw, you don't have to keep telling me, car.

    • Vanos is ok if you check it before and with a good oil Cooling system is greatly improve without ac condenser and a 70c thermostat and of course good pump (whit less than 300k Mile and a ton of silicone gasket), radiator (not clogged)

    • I have had 2 e36s and 2 e46s. I have never had to fix vanos on any of them. The one i drive now has 265k and its great. My wife has a 530i with 297k and no vanos issues.

    • @@knation92 what do you still have to do? My main concern is throw out bearing is bad so it’s making the clutch slip so I’m dropping the trans and doing that plus the clutch itself, rear main seal and a fluid flush while I’m there. Problem is header bolts are rusted up good so I can’t take the exhaust off which also needs a section replaced cause of a rust hole. Other than that and some RTAB it’ll be fine. It’s been on hold though because of med school exams but come fall it should be up and running.

  • This brings back so many memories of my e36 m3 I had. Cosmos black with a ghost racing flag on the driver front fender under the clear coat. I used to use a Bobby pin to touch circuits under the hood to reset the oil life. It was an auto so I learned a trick for a down shift, if you click the button under your gas pedal with your foot then stomp on it you’ll have a good time when it drops a gear or too 😂😂😂 loved that car.
