The new era of automation has begun
THE FACTORY MUST GROW
this finally gives me a reason to sort all the stuff i get from my mob farms
just as planned… the AI revolution is now spreading into mainstream media and video games. It’s almost complete…
I wanted to say the same words
INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION!
i love the idea of being able to automate everything in the game and just have a massive room with chests auto filling up with their respective item
You should try modding then!
It’s possible now!!!
I believe both sand and gravel can’t be automated with out duping and have to be harvested by hand. If you don’t consider afk farms automated then you lose access to things like string, gunpowder, blaze rods, gold, red stone, and glow stone dust. Mob spawns are based on player location so the farms need players nearby or operating them to work. Also tree farms for wood still need players to place the saplings.
@@johnlynch1353 gravel can be obtained from piglin bartering
@@johnlynch1353sand can be obtained from husks, but that can be inefficient
The ‘copy written books’ craft technically means you’ve invented the printing press in Minecraft.
Just realized that this will make bee farms so much better. Now we can have limited bottles in the farm but still get unlimited blocks
This will make almost every farm much better
Now i kind of want to see a Minecraft Version of the Lazy Bastard Achievement from Factorio where an entire proper playthrough is done with only one manual craft, that being the crafter itself.
That's a cool idea, it would be really difficult to get that original crafter. The iron could be gotten by killing an iron golem, crafting tables (both as an ingredient and to be used to make the crafter) could be found in villages/pillager outposts, and redstone from witches if nothing else. Sadly droppers don't spawn naturally as far as I could find, even in ancient cities, so you'd have to make 2 crafts
@@Hubcat_redstone can be found in plenty of chests, trading with villagers, in ancient cities and jungle temples or mining redstone ore
@@icespirit I figured there'd be a simpler way, I just wasn't certain if it spawned in chests, and didn't know if it was possible to get a pick good enough to mine it without crafting since the village changes, I should've remembered villagers and structures though
crafting tables and redstone could be dropped with a creeper explosion, so you could even try a no block mined challenge
@@Hubcat_ creepers can also blow up a redstone ore
Great design! I'm assuming this gets around the weird hopper priority issues people were having? I had a lot of fun making my design for this and mine shares lots of elements with yours!
I remember him saying that if you chunk align it, hoppers and droppers will behave properly.
It does not, but it's a pretty easy fix. You can replace the redstone on the barrels with observers, redstone output facing down, and put repeaters or observers on top of the observer chain so that all the droppers trigger in order. Put the comparator that's reading the crafter into compare mode, not subtract, get rid of the repeater and redstone on the crafter and replace it with 1 redstone where the repeater was. Then run that signal up into the observer chain. If you're using repeaters above the observers, you can use a T-flip-flop to toggle the repeaters on/off with each craft and it works perfectly.
Well now the ultimate challenge is to see how many things you can auto craft in 1 chunk.
when the update launches i'm hooking a tnt auto crafter to my gunpowder farm, and that to a minecart crafter hooked up to a iron fram
Holy crap i hadn't rven thought of auto tnt crafting
And where will you get the sand for it?
@@TaxEvasion1452sand duper probably
This block scares me with so many things it can do 💀
All you need now is a simple item sorter so you can throw in tons of items and have it all get sent to the proper storage so it can be crafted in the correct order.
Dang man! You’re a beast! I’m sitting here thinking that using autocrafters will be insanely complex and then I see the last version and I’m like, “that’s so simple it’s genius.”
Same bro, I thought these things would require insanely complex systems for the item imputs
If you just add a sorter to the "crafting everything autocrafter" then you could put dummy items into those barrels that can be filtered out for recipes that have empty spaces instead of locking the slots.
🤯🤯🤯
My dummy item of choice is light gray glass pane
Would have to be half as fast tho, in order to allow the hopper below crafter to remove the filler items before the craft starts. should be fairly easy tho, hard part is making it able to switch between different crafts, since you need to ensure all hoppers are empty before switching, and also need some way of storing a lot of different setups of sorters for each item
@@tonig2255 That's where you entirely give up on the "1 dropper per slot" idea, and switch to 1 dropper per item type. Downside? It is harder to program the recipe and a bit slower to operate (can be made significantly faster with an instant dropper). Upside? You can have different recipes in the same system, and refilling is easier logistically. Plus, you can encode chains of recipes for multi-step crafting with one single crafter. For example: -Make 4 planks -Make 8 sticks -Make 8 redstone torches -Make 4 repeaters. For a total of 80 instructions, or 3 shulker boxes of discs (-1 slot) worth of information. The system is harder to build, but MUCH more powerful.
@@tonig2255 yesterday I made one that takes recipe-arranged shulker boxes with ingredients as input and automatically crafts items using those ingredients and given recipe shape. You can also queue up multiple recipes (pretty much as many as you like, as long as you have enough queue storage) and the machine will automatically craft them all without any further human interaction needed. However, I kind of gave up on it since I later realized that the 1 wide shulker unloaders I used were not really tileable (sometimes empty shulker box would end up in wrong hopper, clogging up system, breaking the whole thing) and didn't know about the hopper priority issue which I learnt about once I reloaded the world. It is still possible to fix all of these issues, but I'm not in a mood to do so right now.
I would love to see the last design but using binary stored data to determine which items needed pulling it out of an storage. And use temporary filleritems at each point where a blank is needed. Under the crafter will be a locked hopper which only accepts filler items. It opens after the full recipe is in the crafter and it gets rid of the filler items.
I've beens working on something similar, but using music discs and a redcoder. It only allows for up to 14 different inputs (15 power levels-1 for "complete craft"), or 11 counting only the disc farm discs, but it allows to order a chain of crafts from the same crafter. My current prototype can only handle up to 2 slot fillers per recipe, but it removes the dummy items and crafts with only one instruction, and it's enough for most stuff. Sad thing tho: crafting a crafter starting from logs, cobble, redstone and iron ingots requires 28 instructions, which is one more than a shulker box can contain. (log, craft, plank, plank, slot filler, plank, plank, craft, cobble, cobble, cobble, cobble, slot filler, cobble, cobble, redstone, cobble, craft, iron, iron, iron, iron, crafting table, iron, redstone, dropper, redstone, craft)
I can't imagine how much will be possible after the release of 1.21!

16:11 an easy way to fill all the dispensers equality with the right items is use a row of item filters and a hooper/chest minecart, the minecart reparts all items across the hoppers, and it a filter is used only the right items will enter, is slow but that way you can just throw all the materials on a same input and still get the crafted result
Smort
@@RaysWorksThen just connect the torches and/or comparatorw connected to the droppers so they block the item filters from accepting anything once the dropper has filled to a certain level, maybe just if it has one item, that way you can kinda mimic the behavior of the crafter itself, put one item in each dropper, then send all to the crafter and accept the next group of materials
@@RaysWorks or make something to let te items stack in a chest before the hooper, then once there's enough of each material, unlock the hooper, fill the Minecart and let it work until materials are low already
@@RaysWorksOr an alternative might be interested of a minecart, use a system of double chest, chest boats and hoppers to distribute the items , and again, you can block certain hoopers to let the materials fill, then let them go once enough have stacked
13:00 If anyone is having trouble with the last design breaking after a while, here is a soution: Make the crafting-circuit power a mono-stable repeater-pulse passing by some observers which power the barrels, and thereby the droppers. Then rework the circuit for the stopping mechanism by routing the signal in the back to a piston which pushes a redstone block into position next to the Crafter's comparator. You can now remove the 18 repeaters powering the hoppers, as they are not needed. It should now work flawlessly!
+1 this worked for me as well. I couldnt get mine work at all even if I rearranged what was in the droppers. It also made me learn what a mono-stable circuit was. To slightly add on if you put a lever on the back on the block that power the piston you can also still turn it off manually.
ive been sat 2 days straight strugglin tryna make a dispenser crafter and you come here with the simplest god damn design. please stop being smart i hate being outsmarted so hard
The more I think of how I could use the crafter, the more i realize just how incredibly useful it is
I built my own autocrafter prototype to toy with the idea, and it was working out pretty well, minus a few issues that needed to be fixed. But I will build a simple one from your tutorial tonight. Thank you so much for making this. Hoorah to a new era!
Just the realization that a full composter puts out a signal strength of 8 is a fantastic reminder for the crafter, specifically. It’ll save me a fortune in books and lecterns.
You can replace that with a Pot, put in 1 to 8 items :D
After he reads off all the different items each machine can make I fully expect to hear a “we didn’t start the fire!” afterwards
We need to start calling those "Factories"!
Highkey they're no longer 'farms', we're going through the literal industrial revolution in Minecraft.
These auto crafter designs looked really cool 👍 You also managed to make them incredibly compact, even with the restriction of even having them work in Bedrock!
This really changes a lot of things on the "Farm Everything" list as now no gui is needed to craft anything anymore! Can't wait to see
I really love the Minecraft community!!! It's been 3 to 4 days since Crafter was released inside the game, and there are designs for all the craftable items that the Crafter can do. Truly amazing!
Dude this is brilliant. Well done.
Amazing work as always Ray.. can't wait for this to come out.
Hopefully you can lock a recipe, so the timing systems aren't required. I mean, you can still automate, but locking a recipe would be very useful.
Wow! This is insane, thank you!
This is the video I've been waiting for.
the last design gives me classic auto potion brewing vives, thanks for your work
Now we only need that dispensers can finally milk cows.. and we have infinite cake!
For the distribution in the larger version you could use a hopper minecart over item filters, it will make the contraption bigger though
@@RaysWorks then the solution would be to work around the slowest input, feed the different materials in their respective chest before the feed chest for the minecart, once all chests have enough materials then they all start sending them to the feed chest in the amounts needed, maybe using a clock so it's harder for the amounts to mess up
This is insanely useful! Absolute GG! Question though, did the Diamond Farmer Tier requirements change? I’m not on it anymore….
fantastic job keep it up
I made an "everything crafter" before watching any tutorials and yours is waaaaaay way smaller and less complex than mine lol.
THIS IS SO SICK
One thing worth considering. It’s good to make tileable designs and use droppers instead of hoppers wherever possible if you’re dealing with high yield farms, otherwise you end up with your storage having the potential to get backed up pretty quick. My fastest compact compressor (ie dust, ingots, etc. to blocks) can do a double chest in ~3 minutes(slow I know) but using just hoppers would be twice as slow at just under 6 minutes. Edit: fastest compactor I made is now 1:28 for a double chest
the bones to bone blocks auto crafter will actually be so useful for my skeleton farm
For the final complex design. You can have every item in its own chest. And hook up the empty chest detection system to a redstone lamp. So it tells you which chest is low on items. I’m definitely going to be making that. Making an auto dispenser machine and redstone components. As well as cakes. Going to be amazing.
He said auto-crafting dark prismarine and sea lanterns. Instantly sold on this lol
For the second round of crafters that read the contents of the hopper, it might make more sense to have non-stackable filter items like named swords or bows to get around having to have 5 stacks of glass or concrete in a hopper to “prime the pump” for dying purposes. Great video, the crafters revolution is upon us
Well damn. I built some (2) different versions for a single type of input item, and one that crafts automatically with up to 9 types of input items that's easily customiseable, including the number of slots in the input item list, but your versions look rather useful. Especially since most recipes don't require more than 2 types of materials. Also your last showcased design that can take up to 9 types of materials, seems way more compact than the one I managed to come up with. If you add levers on top of the blocks with the redstone torches, you can also customise the number of items you want to input for the crafting recipe, so I guess even featurewise, all mine has over yours is having the crafting itself connected to the input counters, meaning it starts automatically once there are enough resources of ever type to craft even just 1 more item of the requested type. However, it seems to me like your version can leave items in the barrels/hoppers when it runs out of items. Up to 1 more craft's amount. What I did to avoid that was to add a block that can cut/connect the redstone line between the pulse that starts another crafting process, and the line that activates the droppers, when one of the materials runs out. I guess my simpler designs are more chonky because I prefer to make my redstone systems input based. As in: it'll activate automatically based on the input, do it's job, and empty itself out (as much as possible) while working. (The smallest one was 2x2x4, but I've seen an interestng design on the prototech discord that's 1 wide tileable already. It is 1x4x5 though. It is double hopper speed. That said, looking at it, it might require one more observer in an extra line at the bottom, making it 1 taller, into 1x5x5, to add overflow protection.
Thanks for making it work in bedrock also!!❤
Very impressive!
Incredible video
These are great! Though i do feel like the most interesting crafters will be the complex chains of crafts.
This is epic
I'd love to see your farms be chained together!
Nice video man!
Recycling metal from mob grinders is now viable. Melt down all that old iron and gold, and store them as blocks.
man, i was trying to do this system to craft Hoppers but i didnt find how "make it small" thanks for the video :D
It seriously has. So many farms could benefit from this update. Another thing is dispensers could be so easy to craft with this.
It feels good that a another useful redstone item has been introduced into the game.
The thing I'm most excited for with crafters is being able to connect any bone meal based farm directly to a skeleton grinder. It's the little things.
ray good luck finishing all things farmable
Wouldn't necesarrily say that it has no problem whatsoever, since the hopper order is broken as soon as you relog, breaking any crafting recipes at 15:45. I'd say its a major flaw in the way Mojang coded hoppers, but luckily you can get around it by replacing the hoppers with droppers, and changing the curcuitry out with observers and rails for a 100% reliable design. You'd have to spam the droppers that are replacing the hopper chain, but you can turn it off while the farm isnt running, but you'd have to turn off the spam clock on a delay so it doesn't break the crafter.
the main use in survival will undoubtedly be compacting into blocks for high efficiency. Gold farms, slime farms, iron farms, kelp farms for fuel, ect.
Megafarms collecting system will improve so much. This feature is actualy game changing on most technical smp severs.
12:32 I had an idea to improve the any 2 item autocrafter You could use autocrafters, not as a crafter, but as an item counter. For the first 9 items, every time an item goes in, you get a new redstone signal strength. You could use that to detect when the right number of items are queued, then put them into the actual crafter for crafting
Hermit craft is going to have a field day with this one!!
It will be cool to make autocratic like in Factorio. You select what you want in any amount and autocrafter makes it, but when you need another item to do, it's add this recipe to a buffer
This is *insanely complex* actually. It would require an actual redstone computer.
@@witherschatred stone computers may seem really complex, but even in the simplest forms it’s usually very worth it to make one. With relatively basic knowledge of computer science, you can massively upgrade your red stone machines
That last build is perfect for most farms i think. Sort items into the correct containers and boom, you're done.
Great video keep the great content up
The first thing I thought of when I saw the auto crafter was how easy the collection system for gold farms will be. All gold to one chest, rotten flesh to another and throw away all the swords. The gold gets crafted into gold blocks and can be put in shulkers.
I found the C-BUD issue while working on my design for a tileable module that can be slotted into any item sorting system, but which stores all nuggets, ingots, and blocks in block form in the output chest. I ended up working around it by having the signal that triggers a craft also pulse an observer next to the comparator, which updates it, but I hope it gets fixed because it was annoying to discover and deal with while trying to keep everything compact and tileable.
I've got a design that can build around 2000 complex recipes per hour it's crude and needs compacting. It can break when it runs out but it's an easy fix. You have a few designs that will help me with mine.
I completely forgot you use a steam controller. Not many of us left with these it seems, they're starting to get rare.
Now we need a block that mines so people will make machines that speedrun minecraft.
Lol chill bro, the update probably ain’t due until next June. Also good job on the video!
Keep it up!
I wonder if you could speed up the any-item crafter (and the others) using an instant dropper line. It should be able to handle full hopper-speed, or even dropper-speed.
The crafter would really benefit from having a recipe book installed into the interface so players can "choose" what they wish to automate.
Ruins the creativity
9:03 how do you deal with the overflow on this design? It produces faster than hoppers can handle the output. So no matter what, the container above the Crafter will fill up. Tbh if you produce so much that it overflows, you are producing faster than you are using so it doesn't matter if you lose rockets, but what I'm worried about is potential lag. My 2 solutions are, either: 1. comparator to measure when container is full and stop the machine. 2. just cover the container in lava to automatically burn the overflow lmao.
Now we just have to figure out how to make one of those fancy portal loaders so we can combine a witch farm with a nether fortress. We may be on the edge of fully automatic potion brewing.
This just revolutionized the bowl farming meta.
for me, this is Minecraft reborn
best crafter video
I think we can use the last crafter along with some binary logic to automate a large-scale crafting system.
Okay, imagine this... A self replanishing storage room which combines all your farms together with the autocrafters in order to make every automatable item and have it stored in a storageroom Might be a fun idea for a series too
You could use an item filter for the last syiston so it fills it up automatically whith a hopper minecart
For example your very first farm, unlock all those crafting slots and it still does EVERYTHING you said and designed it for but also crafts diamond blocks emerald blocks etc. MANY of these farms have comparators when they DON'T NEED THEM AT ALL and if that's not bad enough you gave them two
hmm hook up an autocrafter to like smoker that makes dried kelp to make dried kelp block and the smoker is hooked up to a kelp farm and a good bamboo farm to keep the fuel up and running. or the bamboo farm hooked to another crafter for bamboo blocks which is transported to the smoker as fuel
For the final one add a item sorter to it then have your farms hooked up to a water stream going into the auto sorters
I think movable tile entities on bedrock means you can just swap out your different crafters with some logic too so you could build one machine that crafts anything
That is amazing not to take away from the amount of work and effort you put into this because like I said it's really amazing I do however still think that they need to add a recipe book into the auto Crafter so you can set what is going to be crafted
Feels like we're gonna have a LOT of running redstone clocks at all times once this comes out LOL
I had built a design similar to 14:49 but solely using hoppers instead of droppers. However when you power the whole line at the same time into the hopper line to the crafter, the item order is consistently inconsistent. For example if using 9 different items for each slot, the FARTHEST item somehow gets to the crafter first then the expected order from close to far. But then if you swap the items for a different recipe (and nothing else changed), it is a different order. Any ideas on cause (At first I thought it was Redstone dust update order but that wouldn't explain a difference between recipes)
It's due to the way hoppers update inconsistently. That design works well until you restart the world, then it breaks. My solution was to have a line of observers, redstone output facing the droppers, and run a line of repeaters or observers or something in front of the observers. Then you can trigger all the droppers in the correct order and the items always arrive correctly. My design used repeaters and a T-flip-flop to toggle the repeaters on/off with each craft so that the observers/droppers only fire once. Hopefully Mojang will fix the hopper bug before 1.21 releases, but I wouldn't count on it, as it's been a known issue for a long time.
@@PseudoResonance I did mostly the exact same. My solution was to make the crafting-circuit power a mono-stable repeater-pulse passing by some observers which power the barrels, and thereby the droppers. I also reworked the circuit for the stopping mechanism, by routing the signal in the back to a piston which pushes a redstone block into position next to the Crafter's comparator. I then removed the 18 repeaters powering the hoppers, as they are not needed. It now works flawlessly!
Out of curiosity, in a similar way that the last design works, couldn't you use another unpowered crafter and a hopper as a buffer to line all the items up at once?
You should add to your farms with the crafter to turn wood into doors, gold nuggets into gold blocks, ect.
you forgot to mention that last setup w/ all the barrels and droppers can also make the crafter itself
I have one thing to say: kelp farms will be OP now
The crafter could be sooooo useful in ingot farms to craft down the outputs for more storage
Can't wait to see someone's design for a storage system that will auto craft whatever item you want with the push of a button.
Can you please do a tutorial on using crafters to turn nuggets to ingots and ingots to blocks please! 🙏
We need someone to make a contraption that can you press a button for ANY craftable item to get it.
im thinking of a nice and fast design but it would be directional, you have three hoppers going in to it, in the order of west, north, east, south, because that's the priority, but eaach hopper is responsible for three items of the recipe and it fills a row at a time, that way you can fill the recipe in 3 hopper ticks and craft on the last
I too used 3 sets of 3 hoppers, but I don’t use a comparator on the crafter to craft once it’s full, instead I added a clock that’s on whenever all the droppers aren’t empty which sends a pulse to the droppers, then a delay that’s long enough for all the items to make it into the crafter, then powers the crafter. The clock then repeats so there’s no delay between crafting and sending the next set of items in. The benefit to doing it this way is you can keep a set of items inside of the crafter as a “recipe” so you can fire all 9 droppers at the same time and the order in which the items go in doesn’t matter since they’ll just stack onto the items already in the crafter meaning the order of items is always preserved. It also works with a single type of unstackable item like the milk in cake since they would just take up the empty slots. Only issue would be recipes that use multiple types of unstackable items, that one would still need to have timing or at least put one of the unstackable items closer in the chains of hoppers than the other. It’s nearly tripled the crafting speed for me.
I was expecting one machine that can craft anything, you should build that next.
wym? the last one can craft anything pay attention
@@samuelmoli5197 I mean like without changing settings or whatever. That one can’t craft a sword and then a pickaxe without you fiddling with the crafter and then changing out the items. One machine that does EVERYTHING, not one machine per item
@@veryblockyI'm looking forward to seeing when someone figures out how to build that monstrosity lol. It'll be amazing
@@bcalriss8906Someone already figured it out by using dummy items instead of disabling slot in the crafter you can use item filter to suck the dummy items out before generating a pulse to activate the crafter. The issue is then reduce to delivering the proper items into the corresponding input hopper.
@@RaysWorks come on, you’ve got to admit a universal crafter would be pretty cool
