  • Dr. Neil, your many abilities are brilliant and seem as unlimited as the universe and beyond. I have great respect for all your work, personal understanding of making the best use of ones personal skills to learn and inform others and still respect others opinions or beliefs. I just had a thought cross my mind though. If you were a female, instead of male, I wonder what the different hormonal influence would have on what other possible avenues you would explore, calculate, prove and define.Obviously this is a theoretical question, but I just had to put it out there.

  • Man.. Neil's ALWAYS finding ways to melt my mind across stardust while it's blown into an ever elvolving dimension spread amongst an infinitely-repeating continuation, existing as a doughnut-shaped plane.. forever expanding into it's on rebirth. But I've usually heard the same answers/teachings from him on a previously recorded KZhead vid, Documentary, College Course, etc. So it's not the statistics of the craziest science and astrophysic facts & figures, his way of comforting me through storytelling and growing my furthest intellectual frontier, or any of the usual stuff that you'd think would cause my blown mind. Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson was just able to blow Kelly Clarkson's mind in a way she had never considered. Mentally, she was prepared to be in the usual awe he's so well-known for and to be aware he can change her veryvperception of reality. That's when it happened.. (and this is the part that justifies why I still watch the newest N. Tyson videos, knowing he's still got the touch).. He showed Kelly he was a fan of her music, and complimented her ability to add so much emotion and soul through her artistry.. and right then, she was dumbfounded. She realized the celebrity Astrophysicist she's always been amazed by, has been amazed by her because of her music. They're fans of each other! Boom! Her mind was blown by Neil! And that was it.. He blew my mind in this video, because he blew Kelly's mind in this video without needing to recite the same facts from science stuff! That's crazy! How can he still blow my mind like that?! ..also, the same space facts and figures over and over.. I like that. I want to make sure I have a firm understanding of everything science has taught us, and repetition's key!

  • Grok /ˈɡrɒk/ is a word coined by American writerRobert A. Heinlein for his 1961 science fictionnovel Stranger in a Strange Land. While theOxford English Dictionary summarizes the meaning of grok as "to understand intuitively or by empathy, to establish rapport with" and "to empathize or communicate sympathetically (with); also, to experience enjoyment", Heinlein's concept is far more nuanced, with critic Istvan Csicsery-Ronay Jr. observing that "the book's major theme can be seen as an extended definition of the term". The concept of grok garnered significant critical scrutiny in the years after the book's initial publication. The term and aspects of the underlying concept have become part of communities as diverse as polyamory (in particular the Church of All Worlds) and computer science.
