Did you not read his facial expressions? He wasn't upset but he clearly wasn't anticipating holding her up for that long. He would have preferred there going a chair for her to stand on at least partially through her thank yous. He was a good sport (kind dude) to push through what I'm sure wasn't easy. Holding up a child I'm that position, for that long, isn't easy especially if you weren't prepared for it (and even if you're strong).
