The Last Story is such a beautiful game. The way you build chemistry with your companions and the love story between the main characters are masterfully and tastefully done. In my opinion it absolutely deserves to be in the greatest RPGs ever made conversation.

Ive owned this game for a few years now and absolutely need to play it. I might take a break from current games and tackle some older ones during the summer.
Red Steel 2, Trauma Team, and Little King's Story are some genuine forgotten gems trapped on the Wii that deserve modern ports

Little King's Story got ported but it isn't recommended.
Last Story is a stellar game that got overshadowed by Xenoblade being released at the same time. Glad to see it got a shout out. OST is top tier too!

I'm not surprised that The Last Story made it into the list. Sakaguchi really did great with this one along side Lost Odyssey for the Xbox 360. The only reason why I bought a Wii and 360.

Glad to see Castlevania Judgment and Trackmania mentioned here! Castlevania I ended up enjoying far more than I expected based on the reviews it was receiving, and Trackmania was a hidden gem for sure. Also, Sin & Punishment, absolute banger for the console! There are a few titles here I need to also check out. Such an underappreciated console! Also, sweet DS collection shown at the end! Great episode as always man!

I've Recently Started Gaming in Wii and i realise this is such a Masterpiece Console A Great Console From Nintendo History and Nintendo Put so much Potential and Effort in this Console so much detailed. I was like why i not meet the Wii in many years. ❤🎉😮😊
The Last Story also had some of the most hilarious dialog and fun gameplay, I really wish it would get some love too because it was the reason I decided to try Xenoblade Chronicles

Castlevania Judgment was surprisingly fun! Eledee's or Elebit's in some regions, was also surprisingly good, and made unique use of the Wii remote. I also completed Last Story, but got stuck in hard mode, when i couldn't get past a qte boss fight, from what i remember, but the game is definitely underrated.
What i like most of your lists is that it makes me want to play every game you mention, always with respect for the work of developers and focusing on the positive aspects that we as retro gamers are looking for, many other channels make lists that don't make you want to play any game because they always insist on making fun of the flaws in old games. Spyborgs CAPCOM) and Madworld (SEGA) are two Wii titles most people either never heard of before or completely forgot about. Another game called Creatures was actually really good too.

Fortune Street is my favorite Wii game, and by quite a bit. Also, Rooms: The Main Building and Lost in Shadow are serious sleepers.
Fortune street (boom street over here in PAL territory), is the Wii game I played the most by far, and the main reason it's still hooked up to our tv. It's my wife's favorite game, so we still play a few games a week.
Im acually trying to get back into playing the Wii via backwards compatibility using the Wii-U i think the most under appreciative games are resident evil umbrella cronicoles and darkside chronicoles also super mario galaxy i know its on the switch but it came out to a limited release but the original still holds up really well and sounds fantastic.
Love the RE chronicle games and all the extra story lore!
Another excellent episode! The Wii had so many great games. I have a pretty large Wii library but you showed me some gems I did not even know about. Back in the day the Wii was always dismissed as a motion gimmick machine or an underpowered non-HD machine. I hope now people are able to discover and appreciate just how fun the games on the Wii actually were.

Tatsunoko vs Capcom is fantastic. I play it regularly via Dolphin on everything I own that you can install Dolphin on!

Little Kings Story is a fun game. Pandoras Tower is unique with amazing boss music. Much more games are stuck on it. Wii era was pretty good.
Tatsunoko vs Capcom was a fun game, might've been the first Wii game I ever finished, at least as far as playing arcade mode once or twice was concerned. I loved playing as Zero and Batsu. Soki too. Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo is fun too! Not too many original Dragon Ball games out there since everything is either Z or now Super. I haven't finished it but I did get it for my Wii. Same with The Last Story. One of my close online friends was really into it as well.
Tatsunoko vs Capcom holds a very special place in my mind. I actually vastly preferred it to MvC3 and MvC infinite
I consider myself quite the fan of the Nintendo Wii, but the girl on the thumbnail alludes me. She looks like Final Fight's Lucia (at least the version that appeared in Street Fighter V) but I don't recall any physical Final Fight games appearing on the Wii. 0:26 - I do own Zack & Wiki but I'll admit, I'm not the smartest when it comes to puzzles and point and clicks (Broken Sword put me off the genre for a long time as well). Hopefully it's headscratchers won't be... too itchy when I get around to playing this game. 1:13 - It sounds like blends 3D action with it's Point and Click genre rather nicely here. An interesting combination that certainly feels best suited for the sort of experience the Wii can provide. 2:25 - I do like my fighting games, especially 3D Fighters, so Castlevania Judgement does appeal to me. The game still alludes my collection though. 3:28 - The road and vehicles look surprisingly smooth. A rather pretty Wii game and fast in motion. A more arcadey racer certainly appeals to me. 5:31 - Tatsunoko vs Capcom is one of my favourite games on the Wii, and I'd even claim that it is the best of the Vs Capcom entries. Despite the Capcom publishing, it's interesting to see 8ing also worked on this game. They did some glorious work on the Nintendo Wii! 8:32 - The homing attack was a fun element to it. A fun Dragon Ball game and I wish we got more games that focused on the OG series. 9:47 - My brother adores Dewy's Adventure... meanwhile, my blood pressure shot up to insanely high levels. I love a lot of the elements, especially the weather mechanic, but it can be quite frustrating with some of it's camera angle changes in a game about balance. 13:03 - Interesting to see the hack and slash element here in what is otherwise described as a railshooter. I'm looking forward to playing this game (love rail shooters) and managed to download the original N64 game through the Wii U eShop before that closed.

The Wii version of Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands if phenomenal. Is completely different from the other versions, more in line with POP2008. I was blown away by how good this game is.
You forgot to mention Pandora's Tower; that one hasn't been seen on any other console outside of the Wii

Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon - Psychologically dark, depressing and all but forgotten. We barelly see anyone talking about this game, even when it was launched. I've played it in a particularly dark time of my life, and I must admit it wasn't my best idea. The game isn't particularly scary, but it touches on subjects of solitude and deep abandonment that I found to be somewhat disturbing back then. Don't know how I would react to it today.

Castlevania Judgment was cool, I loved that you could play as Cornell from 64LoD. That was the first Castlevania game that I beat.

It's not on this list, but my favorite it's the weird jrpg "Opoona". This game has such charm. Sure it has flaws (bad localization, can be confusing, etc) but it's so unique. The soundtrack made by Hitoshi Sakimoto/Basiscape is so good. Also the game is made by ArtePiazza (the same people from the recent Super Mario RPG Remake). 😁

Not sure if it's been mentioned but Fortune Street is known as Boom Street in Europe and Oceania for anyone in those regions looking for a copy.
Although people associate the wii with shovelware as this video shows there are some great games on the system.

I still have a copy of The Last Story. I remember it almost wasn't released in the west, along with Xenoblade Chronicles and Pandora's Tower.

Wasn't it only the States that almost didn't get it? I mean Europe got Limited Editions of both Pandora and Last Story, but both took ages to get to the US despite being in English n all.

Next after the PS2 the Wii is my favorite console when it comes to its library of obscure gems like these. They aren't gems by any means, more like shitty guilty pleasures, but two titles I really enjoy are Cursed Mountain and Escape from Bug Island.

lol the Last Story...this game tried so hard to be a "AAA cinematic" Wii game and it suffered so much for it. The graphics range from fine to good but only on a CRT, the footage here makes it look awful. The action gameplay? The magic and circle buff mechanic is legit good but the melee system is laughably simple. The 3rd person shooting is completely tacked on and feels like a last minute addition because of the 7th gen console shooter craze.

Zack & Wiki sums up in one game everything I loved about the Wii, and everything I hated about it as well. An amazing game, but my god those motion controls made the game 10x harder than it ever needed to be. I always hoped that game would get a reboot, or PC release where an actual mouse could be used. Sin & Punishment 2 is probably the exact opposite, as it uses motion controls, but it works almost flawlessly, and is one of the best games worth having a Wii for. Great vid, thanks for the Wii love, although I personally can't stand the system, but great games, are still great games and letting a wider audience in on them is never a bad thing.

@@michaelangeloabarreto4588 It's underrated, meaning underappreciated. And the Wii is disliked by lots of gamers. So it is underappreciated in some people's eyes. Sales don't matter when we're talking about how appreciated something is almost 20 years after it's launch. As an example, if you win a race, but no one acknowledges you, are you not underappreciated? In a similar vein the Wii has lots of great games, but many people don't acknowledge it. So it's underrated.

I don't know why. but for some reason, the Wii was (and still😅) my least favorite console . I don't remember playing any Wii games for more than 10 minutes without getting frustrated by the Wii motion controls

There's lots of games that don't or barely use motion controls though. There's way worse, like everything pre-NES and PS5/XS lol
Zack & Wiki, well... rather crap puzzles (some even broken), crap game design (replaying the levels after a game over, which renders the trial and error design extremely frustrating since you do not want to try things if you can die if you do it wrong) and completely broken controls which messes up the final stages. But, forgotten? Rather having been talked about as a hidden gem since even before its release up until now. But, shit it is. Shit with wasted potential. Dewy's Adventure is a fantastic and truly original platformer from start to finish. And, yes, it flew under the radar from day one. The Last Story? Is it really forgotten?
Very disappointed with you, That Video Game Show. You didn't include the masterpiece that is Red Steel 1, the FPS game where you can use motion aiming to shoot sideways like a true Gunit.
