Sonic couldn't go Super in the first game because he didn't have the seventh emerald.

I think originally, there were several emeralds on different locations, of various colors and effects, some games showed 8 or even 16. But as they started progressed the lore, they simplified it to have always been 7 that have moved around across all these locations.

Hyper Sonic to me *IS* canon, but like other forms other than Super, they're temporary.
The super emeralds are in a different universe rn. So Sonic can't get his hands on them.
Or the super emeralds were turned Back into the Chaos emeralds by tikal for using the Form too much

Hyper forms are definitely canon. It makes sense being able to use the master emerald to get a greater power that isn't achievable with the normal Chaos Emeralds

@@zephyrstudios3013origins isn’t the definitive method to play 3&k the most definitive way to play 3&k is the original Sega genesis lock on tech or the Nintendo GameCube mega collection or Sonic and knuckles collection on PC are the most definitive versions to be play because origins is a remakes and remaster combined with more modern hardware to play
If we want to use the idw argument starline had all seven chaos emerald in forces and yet during thoses event on cutscenes while fighting infinite he performs chaos snap. In a earlier issue of idw shadow performs chaos snap when teleporting to mr tinkier and he had no chaos emerald since starline had all seven. He also used chaos spears several times throughout the book with no chaos emerald in his position. Shadow does not need a chaos emerald to use his chaos power however you can argue chaos control is something different so all his other chaos abilities from snap,spear,and blast he can use without a emerald but he requires a emerald for a full chaos control.

To be fair Knuckles super form is normally switch’s between being called Hyper or super form Amy on the other hand is definitely in a Hyper form I mean the form is pure white

I heard in one game Shadow could use Chaos abilities without an emerald by “having Maria in his heart”, which I believe means he can use his own energy or life force as a substitute. Kind of like Edward Elric transmuting his life force to heal himself in place of a Philosopher’s Stone.

I think that if the series ever does get a finale, they should end it with a threat so incredibly strong that Sonic has no other choice than to go all in unleashing hyper sonic. It might not even be a boss fight, maybe a snap of the fingers. Maybe in the movies or something.
I wonder if Sonic (who we know can time travel) can go back in time and get the super emeralds. Also I believe bits of the Archie comics are canon (like Sonic’s power level and abilities and stuff and possibly some of the characters)since Sega rn is trying to weave a lot of the canons together, like how Amy mentions Sticks in Frontiers.
3:56 well there is super amy (somewhat) since she can go super but the trailer for the plus dlc states it as supercharged so its amy just using 1 chaos emerald and is probably the same power level as charged sonic at the end of sonic movie 1

Did you know that originally each island had it's own set of chaos emeralds. That's why in sonic 1 there were 6 emeralds. In some of the game gear games there were 5. And in sonic spinball there were 16. That's why they all look different and in Aosth im pretty sure there were like 4 or 5 different emeralds as well.
I really hope the movies dive into Sonic's other forms. and maybe even have the werehog as part of a cutaway joke or something.

My headcanon is that shadow can teleport short distance without a chaos emerald. He didn't have enough energy because he was tired.
6:26 and well chaos in sa1 used the negative energy of the emeralds to go perfect and the fake emeralds contain a lot of negative energy so sonic could theoretically go dark with enough rage and emeralds beside him
I would like to say that sonic is the embodiment of chaos, he can literally take down super forms in his base form and he has the most chaos energy than anyone else. So tapping into positive, dark and hyper seem pretty easy for him
I think Sonic Prime is also canon, at least implied by the recent Tails Tube.

Weren't the Super Emeralds in Sonic Mania? They were next to the Master Emerald shrine just like in Sonic 3&K. I know they were grey and cracked but i honestly think that if they fused the Chaos Emeralds into the broken Super Emeralds with the Master Emeralds power harnessed by Knuckles (who could already piece back together the Master Emerald's shards) then they could bring back the Super Emeralds stronger than ever. (Btw i'm pretty sure the Chaos Emeralds and other gems have their power multiply depending on how many you have)
Well, Hyper was used, but now they can’t be used since the Super Emeralds reside either deep in the special stages or in another dimension, and the emeralds beside the master emerald in Hidden Palace are either just grey now or are just statues

Think about it like the multiverse there's alternative universes and each Sonic is different
I may be wrong but I believe this is the order from weakest to strongest 3. 7 Chaos Emeralds 2. 1 Super Emerald 1. 7 Super Emeralds and The Master Emerald I believe that the Master Emerald hid itself in another dimension put all it’s power into the Locked Super Emeralds and it could only be accessed by putting the Chaos Emeralds into the Locked Super Emeralds. Now after this the Master Emerald began recharging but Mecha Sonic broke into the dimension and tried wielding the Super Emeralds but was unable to due to not having the 7 Chaos Emeralds (He didn’t know he needed them or that the Master Emerald was charging) so he stole the Master Emerald and could only wield the power the Master Emerald had recharged which was equivalent to the 7 Chaos Emeralds. After Mecha Sonic was destroyed and only Sonic, Tails and Knuckles knew about the dimension, the Master Emerald returned to the Super Emeralds and took them and itself to an even more hidden dimension so it could recharge then sit and wait for Sonic and the gang to desperately needs it’s power.

Wait, so Sonic Battle was retconned? (Because, in the end of the game, Emerl took all of the Chaos Emerald and fought against Shadow, and he used the chaos power and even said he can use withou the chaos emerald)

While there is possible no evidence of it, I actually like the thought that Shadow can use Chaos abilities with the energy within his body, like Teleporting short distances, or massively damaging his body with Chaos Blast, but if he uses a Chaos Emerald as a conduit, he can not only greatly decrease the risk to his own body with more powerful moves, but make them more powerful, too.

2:35 well sadly the phantom ruby shenanigans in mania and forces have been retconned by ian flynn since the writer for forces (which wasnt him) didn't play the classic games nor generations and in mania we see the super emeralds as empty husks and in my headcanon tikal with her chaos spirit power extracted the chaos emeralds from the super emeralds as a means to punish sonic for using the Form
That...doesn't make any sense for Tikal to do that...Since we literally see the Master Emerald voluntarily gave Sonic access the Super Emeralds in the first place, so why should Tikal punish Sonic just because he used the form and also uses this power to rescue the Master Emerald?

Lik bro we LITERALLY SEEA IN THE FIRST ARC OF SONIC IDW SHADOW USING CHAOS SPEAR AGAINST SUPER NEO METAL as well as him using chaos abilities against jet storm and wave later on...but let's just ignore those. He can use chaos abilities with the emerald, case closed. Hell we even see in sonic shadow generations shadoW USES chaos powers with an emerald. The idw comic literally only says chaos CONTROL. This is all just your headcanon that you can't prove
What I think happens is that Shadow uses the fake emeralds that tails made in sa2. We saw how sonic did it, although he struggled. Shadow however, has much more mastery over Chaos Control. We’ve seen Shadow use that teleportation in issue 5 or 6 of IDW without an emerald, since we know that Doctor Starline had all seven (atleast within the first 12 issues)

The chaos emeralds get there power from the master emerald which grants them the ability too turn into super chaos emeralds but there is one gem that is more powerful that is the phantom ruby which has more power then the master emerald and can cancel out the power of the master emerald

By the way, everything IS canon. Sonic boom had this confirmed in an interview. All of these separate continuities take place in different dimensions. While none of them are canon to the mainline continuity they are all different dimensions that exist within the same cosmology. Sort of like a multiverse theory or something.

Angel island is really in another dimension ? Cuz Frontiers definitely mentions Angel island. So iizuka (idk remember his last name) kind of lied. I think its more of a power scaling problem. What would be Unleashed with the super emerald ? Frontiers, Heroes, Generations ? Most of the Super Sonic fights would be much different, because Hyper Sonic is the ultimate form. He could be stronger than Cyber Super Sonic (not the blue glitched one) or as powerful. And lets not forget that in Frontiers, Super Sonic could do barely any damage to End Supreme. He had to control the cyber corroption to get there. And if the emeralds power are absolute... Hyper is stronger

Hyper Amy doesn’t exist. Amy’s ‘Hyper’ form is actually called Super Amy in game. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles are the only ones to have official Hyper forms.
