In a recent interview, the Ukrainian Minister discussed the current state of the conflict with Russia. Despite challenges in 2023, including an incomplete counteroffensive and waning Western support, Ukraine has made significant strides. The Minister highlighted that Ukraine regained 50% of its territory, though not within this year, and successfully opened an alternative corridor in the Baltic Sea region.
Addressing criticisms about unmet objectives, such as reclaiming land during the summer counteroffensive and ambitions to retake Crimea, the Minister emphasized Ukraine's long-term strategic goal of restoring its 1991 borders. He noted that military objectives are complex and should be managed by experts.
Looking ahead to 2024, the Minister, a Crimean Tatar, expressed unwavering confidence in Ukraine's ability to reclaim Crimea with international support. Despite current shortages in artillery, ammunition, and drones, and diminishing support from the West, he affirmed Ukraine's determination to continue the fight for its land.
The Minister stressed the importance of sticking to their plan and expressed gratitude for the support from allies, emphasizing its significance for global security. He condemned any nation that violates international laws through invasion and occupation, insisting on accountability and justice.
Regarding peace negotiations, the Minister referred to President Zelensky's ten-step peace plan, suggesting that its full implementation could lead to a resolution. He concluded the interview by thanking the host and reaffirming his commitment to Ukraine's cause.

  • If only there was some sort of Minsk Accords…if only Ukraine would have followed it and the US wouldn’t have destroyed the pipeline….there’d be a lot less death and suffering currently

    • the first MINSK agreements in September 2014 were violated immediately by both sides. the 2nd MINKS agreements in February 2015 weren't even implemented by either side to begin with. Look at what was agreed and tell me Russia or Ukraine complied with any of them: 1. An immediate and comprehensive ceasefire 2. Withdrawal of all heavy weapons by both sides 3. Monitoring and verification by the OSCE 4. To start a dialogue on interim self-government for the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, in accordance with Ukrainian law, and acknowledge their special status by parliamentary resolution. 5. A pardon and amnesty for people involved in the fighting 6. An exchange of hostages and prisoners. 7. Provision of humanitarian assistance. 8. Resumption of socio-economic ties, including pensions. 9. Restoration of full control of the state border by the government of Ukraine. 10. Withdrawal of all foreign armed formations, military equipment and mercenaries. 11. Constitutional reform in Ukraine including decentralisation, with specific mention of Donetsk and Luhansk. 12. Elections in Donetsk and Luhansk on terms to be agreed with their representatives. 13. Intensifying the work of a Trilateral Contact Group comprising representatives of Russia, Ukraine and the OSCE.

  • Ukraine isn't a democracy. In democracies there is more than one TV Channel, main political parties and main Christian denominations aren't banned, no mass extrajudicial killings, disappearances and torture, men from 18 to 60 aren't banned from leaving the country, people aren't rounded up in the streets and dragged to their death . Democracies hold elections after all. Well, it's a quote from The Time article. Zelenskyy top advisers say about him: “He deludes himself,” one of his closest aides tells me in frustration. “We’re out of options. We’re not winning. But try telling him that. It is immovable, verging on the messianic.” One Austrian artist was in a similar state in 1945. Zelenskyy "achievements" to date: 500,000 Ukrainians are dead, 3x that mangled and crippled for life, half of Ukraine's population is living as refugees scattered all over Europe and Russia right now, they're drafting women because they've run out of men to kidnap off the streets, gyms and public transport. NYT wrote about these mass kidnappings that were happening only in Zelenskyy Ukraine and Hitler's Germany in 1945 in an article ‘People Snatchers’.
