The 80's, what a fantastic era for music and for this literally awesome song and video by Ultravox. Written in 1984 when the event of a nuclear war could have started and what this song is about. Here we are again in 2022 and the world is in an even more unstable crisis than back then. The possibility of it happening now seems more likely and a real possibility. If it is going to happen this is how I would like to go... Should it occurr, God bless you all Hiroshima Mon Amour (Foxx/Ultravox) In their own right as the "frontman" of Ultravox on seperate occasions, John Foxx and Midge Ure are in their own unique way are what made both versions of the band great. They are possibly two of most decent and sincere and talented influential musicians/song writers there have been in the music industry and deserve a damn site more recognition. They are the only band, in my believe, were neither versions were better than the other. Thank you for giving us ULTRAVOX RockWrok

The best time of my life...
As a teen in the 80s I remember the threat of nuclear war , but it helped produce some awesome tracks . Nazareth , pop the silo is well worth a listen .
The end of this video is one of the most tragic and beautiful I've ever seen.
Déjà 40 ans et toujours d'actualité !!!!!!!!!!!!+++++++++
We are all dancing with tears in our eyes these days when watching TV and seeing wars and hoping that nuclear weapons will not been set up for destroying more lives of humans HOPE THAT THEY WILL STOP THE WAR NOW 🙈🙉🙊

Great Ultravox song. Love it and Reap The Wild Wind.
Reap the wild wind imo is their best song, its synth perfection.

Love Is A Powerful Feeling. Embrace It.
I used to have The Collection compilation album in the 80s both vinyl & cassette & I had an audioline walkman which I used to listen to on my way to work in the mornings. I totally rinsed that album this song Hymn & of course Vienna being my 3 faves at the time. LOL.

Los 80 la mejor década del siglo en cuanto a la música ,acá con mis 53 años la sigo escuchando 😊
Me too 😊
♥️
Quiet + Pequod + this music ❤
The audio effects at the beginning of the video are taken from the film 'Alien' and are the sound of the Mother computer communicating with Ripley.
❤Love this song❤
my favorite song ever made
QUE DIRE DE CE MORCEAU......SON TYPIQUE DE L ÉPOQUE !!¡!!!!!!SIMPLEMENT GÉNIAL !!!!!
I love this song
By far the best Music video in the business!
Good music video thanks 😗
Çok seviyorum bu şarkıyı. Romantik bir melodisi var, klipte mükemmel. Türkiye'den selamlar 🇹🇷
The sound affects at the start of the music video are reminiscent of those at the beginning of Ridley Scott's science fiction film entitled Alien (1979).
Una canción hermosa con un ritmo muy pegajoso y que al mismo tiempo evoca mucho nostalgia.
God Musikk 🕺🕺🕺
This video, this voice got me shook back then... I didnt understand one word of english, but in France it was a massive success... I found the video by accident on a 80's tunes compilation and now at 49yo, (nearly) fluent in English I get why I was like traumatized, not in a bad way (cant find a better word, sorry)... Wow 😩😩😭😭💔💔...
🍕 🍕Scanning the enemy camp with my binoculars, I start to hear this on the radio, I didn't even realise this was on MGSV!! (I naturally run over and grab the casette straight away) 😆😆😆
