I love how different Mario and Luigi are from each other. Mario starting jumping and running and going through random doors to save Peach. Luigi on the other hand is cautious, more down to Earth. He’s also why less enthusiastic about the situation, which is really realistic

I have so many things to say about Luigi, but the one thing is that he's loyal. He never gave up on saving his friends despite being filled with fear. You can clearly tell how different Mario and Luigi's personalities are. Mario being the carefree and adventurous one, and Luigi being the more cautious and thinks things through.

I love how they made Mario energetic, and Peach have a personality too. And that they talk, on top of all that, and it's good voice acting. YES!!

They've always spoken, especially in the older games from the N64, GameCube and GBA era. I think the reason why Nintendo made them less talkative in the Wii era and beyind was because they didn't want dialogue to get in the way of the gameplay and wanted body language to tell stories instead. But in this game, it seems like they're going back to making their characters talk more. Mario was pretty energetic and vibrant in Odyssey as well. I'm glad they're making him more expressive in each newer game coming out other than just "generic happy hero guy." Wait, Peach didn't have a personality before? She has one, but she's just really modest. In the sports or party games she has more personality, being more spunky and playful. I love how peppy she is here too!

@@briannawilson8845 I know that, it's just that a lot of Mario games **coughcough NSMB series coughcough** don't express that. And this game (in my opinion) takes all of their personalities up another level For example, when Peach comes out of the painting, she hugs Mario and Luigi as if they are all good friends. We knew that they were before, (how couldn't they, with how much the bros. saved her?) but we really never get to see that side of them, except for once or twice in the RPGs. And in a lot of Mario games (NSMB, SMG and SMG2, etc.) she is the blandest character ever. She screams help, and kisses Mario. The End. So to see her in full character when they all hug, it warms my heart, even if King Boo DOES come and kidnap them.

This was actually the game I pointed to in defense of Chris Pratt as Mario. Because can you imagine a feature length movie voiced like this? 14:50 I don't know why, but I love this part. Luigi is literally face to face with his greatest fear/enemy, and in a split second he looks away from King boo like he might back out, but then he fills himself with determination to finish the job, as seen by the expressions he makes, and he ends up winning. I cannot believe just how attention to detail these games are and just how much they give Luigi personality over Mario.

Tbh always preferred Luigi over Mario. He has way more personality than Mario by example. Did you know he can run and jump faster and higher than his brother, but in compensation when you stop, it takes a little more time than Mario ? Or he is really intelligent too. In short I prefer Luigi and Daisy over Mario and Peach themselves.

I love how over excited Mario seems in this scene. They really over exaggerated that Mario is far more used to platforming than Luigi is, especially in that part where he jumps across the gap. There's so much detail in the animations and the characters' expressions, it reminds me of something done by Pixar. Sonic Unleashed gave me the same vibe. They could make Luigi Mansion's a short film, like they did for Sonic Unleashed when there were short little movies starring the adventures of Sonic and Chip, like in "Night of the Werehog."

dark moon was a huge step down for our lovable green plumber. it’s good to see the third game come so so SO close to having the same charm as the original. in some ways it even surpasses the original! glad to see nintendo go back to giving this franchise the charm that it needed. but seriously PLEASE don’t screw up the fourth game!

i think this game has delved deeper into the personalities and relationship of mario and luigi in this one scene, than any other super mario bros. 3D game has before. i also really like how this game explored their dynamic and how it contrasted their personalities. i think it’s interesting because they’re both heroic, but they approach heroism so differently.

I dunno, I still find the final scene of the first game to show how much Luigi cares for Mario. When Luigi finally laughed and that tear of happiness trickled down his cheek when he saw mario, it just tugged on my heartstrings in a way that none of the other luigi's mansion games did.

The thumbnail was really sweet to look at. It's like family reunion. If you think about it, the relationship between the bros and Peach are like close siblings, with Peach being the sister they protect, Mario as the big brother, and Luigi as the young brother. Peach and Mario should be a couple, but I see their relationship being more like brother and sister or really close friends. It's really cute.

Who says or even believes that anymore? I hardly hear people say things about Mario anymore, and if they do they're usually joking. I remember back when the theory first came out, people took it so seriously and it continued well into 2018. It was ridiculous. And all over just because he stepped on Luigi's foot in a SPORTS game. It was just a friendly rivarly nudge, that's all. It wasn't like he shoved Luigi's face in poop or something for winning. And my brother teases me a lot like that too! Yes, Mario can be hot-tempered at times, but he's not an awful brother! That's like saying Sonic is terrible to Tails because Sonic is cocky around him, I remember someone who thought Sonic was horrible to Tails because Sonic leaves him behind, although that's not Sonic's fault at all, that's bound to happen in the old games, and in canon Tails is almost always keeping up with Sonic. The only bad thing Mario has done was in Donkey Kong when he mistreated him, but there's a theory that Jumpman might be Mario's dad instead. I think the "Mario is Mental" theory was stupid. All becuase of that peoole were hating that much on what's supposed to be a cheerful, adorable and iconic fictional character? Mickey Mouse wasn't exactly innocent either back in the day, but he didn't get as much hate as Mario did. I don't even think Mario is all that hated anymore, and most people who don't look deep into the internet aren't even aware MatPat's theory even exists.

Seeing how Mario casually wall jump and move like a ninja while Luigi cautiously works his way up like most people would, convinces me in universe, Luigi canonically isn’t that flexible, at least when he’s afraid or not motivated enough. Especially since most of the time we have playable Luigi in the main Mario games, is more as a skin, special character that isn’t necessarily part of the main plot, and more for fun gameplay than actual story and development.

The animation and the amount of detail and the facial expressions is on par with a Pixar film to be honest. I felt the same way with Odyssey. They should make the Luigi Mansion series have short films or TV shorts, sort of like how Sonic Unleashed had short films following the adventures of Chip and Sonic, like in "Night of the Werehog", for example.

I love how different Mario and Luigi are from each other. Mario starting jumping and running and going through random doors to save Peach. Luigi on the other hand is cautious, more down to Earth. He’s also why less enthusiastic about the situation, which is really realistic

I have so many things to say about Luigi, but the one thing is that he's loyal. He never gave up on saving his friends despite being filled with fear. You can clearly tell how different Mario and Luigi's personalities are. Mario being the carefree and adventurous one, and Luigi being the more cautious and thinks things through.

I love how they made Mario energetic, and Peach have a personality too. And that they talk, on top of all that, and it's good voice acting. YES!!
They've always spoken, especially in the older games from the N64, GameCube and GBA era. I think the reason why Nintendo made them less talkative in the Wii era and beyind was because they didn't want dialogue to get in the way of the gameplay and wanted body language to tell stories instead. But in this game, it seems like they're going back to making their characters talk more. Mario was pretty energetic and vibrant in Odyssey as well. I'm glad they're making him more expressive in each newer game coming out other than just "generic happy hero guy." Wait, Peach didn't have a personality before? She has one, but she's just really modest. In the sports or party games she has more personality, being more spunky and playful. I love how peppy she is here too!

And this game (in my opinion) takes all of their personalities up another level For example, when Peach comes out of the painting, she hugs Mario and Luigi as if they are all good friends. We knew that they were before, (how couldn't they, with how much the bros. saved her?) but we really never get to see that side of them, except for once or twice in the RPGs. And in a lot of Mario games (NSMB, SMG and SMG2, etc.) she is the blandest character ever. She screams help, and kisses Mario. The End. So to see her in full character when they all hug, it warms my heart, even if King Boo DOES come and kidnap them.

Luigi is literally face to face with his greatest fear/enemy, and in a split second he looks away from King boo like he might back out, but then he fills himself with determination to finish the job, as seen by the expressions he makes, and he ends up winning. Tbh always preferred Luigi over Mario. He has way more personality than Mario by example. Did you know he can run and jump faster and higher than his brother, but in compensation when you stop, it takes a little more time than Mario ? Or he is really intelligent too. There's so much detail in the animations and the characters' expressions, it reminds me of something done by Pixar. Sonic Unleashed gave me the same vibe. They could make Luigi Mansion's a short film, like they did for Sonic Unleashed when there were short little movies starring the adventures of Sonic and Chip, like in "Night of the Werehog."

i think this game has delved deeper into the personalities and relationship of mario and luigi in this one scene, than any other super mario bros. 3D game has before. i also really like how this game explored their dynamic and how it contrasted their personalities. i think it’s interesting because they’re both heroic, but they approach heroism so differently.
True. Luigi is the reluctant hero but he still comes through. He didn’t hesitate to save them all, all while trembling a bit.
I dunno, I still find the final scene of the first game to show how much Luigi cares for Mario. When Luigi finally laughed and that tear of happiness trickled down his cheek when he saw mario, it just tugged on my heartstrings in a way that none of the other luigi's mansion games did.

The thumbnail was really sweet to look at. It's like family reunion. If you think about it, the relationship between the bros and Peach are like close siblings, with Peach being the sister they protect, Mario as the big brother, and Luigi as the young brother. Peach and Mario should be a couple, but I see their relationship being more like brother and sister or really close friends. It's really cute.

Who says or even believes that anymore? I hardly hear people say things about Mario anymore, and if they do they're usually joking. I remember back when the theory first came out, people took it so seriously and it continued well into 2018. It was ridiculous. And all over just because he stepped on Luigi's foot in a SPORTS game. It was just a friendly rivarly nudge, that's all. It wasn't like he shoved Luigi's face in poop or something for winning. And my brother teases me a lot like that too! Yes, Mario can be hot-tempered at times, but he's not an awful brother! That's like saying Sonic is terrible to Tails because Sonic is cocky around him, I remember someone who thought Sonic was horrible to Tails because Sonic leaves him behind, although that's not Sonic's fault at all, that's bound to happen in the old games, and in canon Tails is almost always keeping up with Sonic. The only bad thing Mario has done was in Donkey Kong when he mistreated him, but there's a theory that Jumpman might be Mario's dad instead. I think the "Mario is Mental" theory was stupid. All becuase of that peoole were hating that much on what's supposed to be a cheerful, adorable and iconic fictional character? Mickey Mouse wasn't exactly innocent either back in the day, but he didn't get as much hate as Mario did. I don't even think Mario is all that hated anymore, and most people who don't look deep into the internet aren't even aware MatPat's theory even exists.

Seeing how Mario casually wall jump and move like a ninja while Luigi cautiously works his way up like most people would, convinces me in universe, Luigi canonically isn’t that flexible, at least when he’s afraid or not motivated enough. Especially since most of the time we have playable Luigi in the main Mario games, is more as a skin, special character that isn’t necessarily part of the main plot, and more for fun gameplay than actual story and development.
