Half of two plus two is ambiguous. Your answer is for "(half of two) plus two". It could also mean "half of (two plus two)", in which case the answer is two.
Thank you for that Roger. That's the only one I didn't get and I was going to go back and try to work out was meant.
Agreed, the way the question was phrased, two was the correct answer.
3 is the correct answer. Division is always before addition as per the bodmas rule in arithmetic.
@@thomasmathew4429 in a formal equation, true. Not necessarily in informal speech (or the written equivalent).
Question was grammatically incorrect, not phrased properly....as it stands, the answer is 2!
For riddle 2, you could also have fork, knife or spoon, they equally are as logical. I thus awarded myself a point because it makes perfect sense. The problem with questions like this is sometimes you haven't got one definitive answer, unlike the Kiwi riddle in your thumbnail. All the other questions I got the same answers as yours.
Nice one, Jasmine Surreal.💯👍

Amazing questions
Thank you you help me for finding quiz for my assembly❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
You're welcome! ❤️👍
Riddle 1 depends on how the question is spoken, so it's impossible to solve when it is written. Solution 1 - two plus two is four, and half of that is two. Solution 2 - half of two is one. Add two and you have three.
I disagree with you, the first solution which is shown is the definitive answer. To prove this, first we look at the question. Half of 2 plus two Now we substitute with mathematical operations 1/2 2 + 2 BODMAS/BIDMAS/PEMDAS stated that multiplication comes before addition, half of 2 is 1. 1+2 = 3, therefore the answer is = to 3
What is half of two plus two? Two What is half of two, plus two? Three
@@tombuddy100 exactly, we don't use brackets in everyday communication so we don't actually know the meaning of "the half of two plus two" but we know for sure that "the half of two, plus two" is 1/2 2+2
@Anjal Jaiswal bro literally no one cares, basically everyone in this comments section is raising the same point about number one, we all can tell that this is a similar, just no one gives a damn, also how is he a liar, focus on your own spelling rather than someone else's comment
@Anjal Jaiswal lol, you really think that YT would ban someone for saying a thing like that, grow up, you must be like 12 as deducted by your language like "rudio" and your excessive use of emojis.
For question 1 to equal 3, a comma needed to be placed after the first two, as otherwise the answer is 2.
I agree!
No comma is needed. 1/2 × 2 + 2. Multiplication is done first.
@Claudette Shippey Your rendition of the equation requires brackets ie (1/2 x 2 ) + 2 = 3. As the question was posed as a sentence, punctuation was necessary to convey the equation accurately ie needed a comma after the first 2. The answer is 2 as presented in the video.
ABSOLUTELY
No, it doesn’t need brackets, indeed brackets comes before adidtion, but sides multiplication, mathematically your point is invalid, grammatically your argument isn’t fully nonsensical however you take what comes first in English, unless a word such as but not limited to “before” or “previously” is used, so half of two comes first, therefore you do that first.
10 out of 10
Excellent job! 💯😍👍

@@englishtestsandlogic 2+2=4 & half of that is a. Would you please explain how it’s 3?
No. They were silly easy
No they were really lame ngl
@@omaromaar7044 It can also be taken as (Half of two) + 2 which is 1 +2, hence it is 3
To the developer of this test: There is an objective reason why the answer for the first riddle is absolutely, two, and not three: In the English language, the inclusion, omission, and placement of commas are NOT trivial. They are detrimental to the meaning of your communications. Since you elected to phrase the question in English, your omission of a comma before the word "plus" will only have one acceptable answer for this equation: Two. And the so called mathematical "PEMDAS-approach" will NOT change anything. If your intention was for the test-takers to derive at "three" as the answer, then the absolutely only acceptable written question, has to be phrased as follows: "What is half of two, plus two?" Think of it this way: "Let's eat grandma!" versus "Let's eat, grandma!"
what a great example
You are absolutely correct.
I agree, but I think it depends on whether you have a mathemetician's mind or a linguistic one. In math, I believe you have to do the division first. I got this one wrong, but I should have known it wouldn't be that obvious. Riddles are tricks and the listeners job is to discover it. Good fun, though.
@@dalaidolly5017, I respectfully, yet vehemently, disagree. There isn't a "mathematician mind" versus a "linguistic mind", as you have suggested. I am a computational neuroscientist, and by your logic, I should agree that the answer to the aforementioned equation is three. But objectively, the answer will always be two. There are specific inflexible rules in computation that apply, depending on the chosen mode of communication. And if one deviates from the rules, one has objectively derived at the wrong answer. There are two ways of communicating mathematical equations. One is the universally preferable method of using mathematical symbols. The second is the linguistic expression of a mathematical concept. If one opts for the latter, one must abide by the linguistic rules of the chosen language. Imagine the real-world chaos that could ensue if one decides to simply subjectively override the rules. And yes, I agree, riddles are fun. But even in the context of light-hearted riddles, one should try to remain as accurate as possible.
Thank you for explaining it so eloquently. You're a genius. I got a little perturbed at first, knowing I wasn't stupid and the answer had to be two.

I had several issues with his one: For riddle # 2, the answer could have also been "a knife". For # 5, a correct response would also be "a water gun". For # 7, you could have also stated the amount of shampoo left in the bottle (although "bar of soap" is admittedly the better sounding answer). For riddle # 9, you didn't word it properly. By stating each daughter has "a" brother, that's a generalization that could mean any particular one of several brothers that they have. You should have stated "each daughter has *one* brother". Finally, for riddle # 10, although technically correct, the better correct answer would have been "a noun" (A noun is a person, place or thing, which all of those items were) "Kiwi" is way too obscure. But good quiz anyway, and thank you for uploading it. I admit, you did get me on the "pie chart" one. So I can safely say that I got 9/10. I'll also confess that I almost got the first answer wrong by quickly answering "2", before suddenly recalling the mathematical law of equation problem solving, to come up with the correct answer of "3" 😁😁 Thanks again! 😃😃
@@ACheateryearsago LOL What are you, a caveman? Have you not ever eaten with a knife & fork before? For riddle #2, it's silverware, riddle #7 it's a bar of soap cuz a bottle can't get small but I get your point and #9, my answer was 6 children but I was thinking of how many dads.
@@enriqueiii9209 Enrique, thank you......"silverware". My brain is getting too old to figure out what a knife & fork set is collectively called 🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Half of two plus two" is erroneous. The good answer is two. If they mean (Half of two) plus two, which is 1 + 2 = 3, they MUST put the brackets.
It’s saying what is half of 2 plus 2 which 2 plus 2 is 4 the answer is 2
Okay that’s not what it looked like
With the order of operation, division (half of two) comes before the addition (plus two) meaning the answer would be 3. In order for the equation to equal 2 it would have to be: half of (two plus two)

Hey❤️ I may not know you personally however I care about you deeply because I know how much you mean to Jesus The King of all creation . Day by Day the world is falling apart because we are literally living in the last days of Earth there is no doubt or debate about it, Jesus Christ is coming faster then you think to bring judgement to the world and to destroy it. This really is URGENT, it’s NOT A JOKE ,Tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone, you can be alive one minute and gone the next, please take this opportunity to be on the side of Mercy confess your sins and wicked ways to Jesus , sincerely REPENT/turn away from them, ask for his forgiveness, and be baptized at a real bible believing church- ask him to enter your heart and to be your Lord and Savior before it is too late , truly believe in him and he WILL do it because it is his promise. It’s important that you seek the righteous and Holy path of the Most high God so that you may inherit eternal life and be spared of Hell fire. Jane could have 10 children in total as well. There is nothing to say each daughter has the same brother. Also, another equally valid answer for the delicious data question is "Bite/Byte" (then it becomes less of a riddle and more of a pun joke).
i thought the delicious data one was cookies :((
Bro , if Jane had 10 children , each daughter would have had 5 brothers each... Just try to get the logic... I am sure you will Bro!
Nope, for the daughter, it said each of them had A BROTHER. It makes perfect sense that it's the same brother. Example, you and your sister each have a brother. It makes sense that both of you have A BROTHER. The SAME BROTHER. If Jane would have 10 children, each of the daughters would have 5 brother each
@@imabhinandan3608 Incorrect deduction Bro. It is a perfectly logical statement to say that each daughter has a brother, even if they in fact have 5 brothers each. If you have 5 cookies, you can truthfully tell someone "I have a cookie" without revealing that you actually have 5 of them. Or if you're playing cards, and you see your opponent play "an Ace" (1 Ace), you cannot automatically assume they don't still have 3 more Aces up their sleeve. This riddle would have had to say "each of her daughters has 1 brother IN TOTAL". Then it would limit the answer to 6 children as you describe. As it is, the correct answer here can be 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 or even more children to infinity (maybe Jane is a rabbit). All we know for sure is how many daughters Jane has. Oh, and if we want to enter the land of the looney left, then Jane could have additional children who self-identify as neither male nor female (and hence neither daughter, son or brother). We have absolutely no way of knowing how many children Jane has. Logic depends on correct precise wording and this riddle doesn't have it.
