Spring Has Arrived At Our 1840s Cottage on the Isle of Skye, Highlands, Scotland - Ep16

2024 ж. 23 Мам.
90 289 Рет қаралды

Willie, Sarah and their dog, Jack Spaniels, continue their biggest adventure yet - leaving their suburban life and moving over the sea to 'Live The Skye Life'!
In this episode, the 'Skye-Lifers' continue with their scratch build shed and Willie makes a rather noisy impulse buy off Facebook Marketplace...
Spring must really have arrived on the island, as we are out foraging for wild garlic and we have managed to ditch the thermals...will it last..?!

  • Enjoying the progress of the shed but going with Sarah to gather wild garlic was soul soothing. In west Texas we cherish rain and water. Our annual rainfall is about 20 inches and often we don’t get that. It’s very dry. Seeing the water and watching the waterfalls made my heart sooo happy. And I love Jack Spaniels excitement for being!!!!!

Last week it was sunny and 80 degrees, 4 days ago there was snow and 60s, 2 days ago severe thunderstorms, today back down in the 30s..........brrrrrrrrrr its cold!! Your friend Richard scared the bejeezus outta me, climbing on that roof before the tin was added. I do so enjoy your walks Sarah, the beauty and serenity is beyond words! • My husband makes enough pesto to share with friends. He uses pine nuts but has tried sunflower seeds too. Both are delicious. We use it all the time. I like to cut up a large batch of assorted green veggies with mushrooms and onions. I put it all in a very large, deep skillet and cook it on a gentle flame. When the veggies are almost cooked I add a bag of fresh spinach. I’ve also used frozen. The veggies are wonderful in omelets. We use it on tortellini and shrimp salad which we eat cold. I wish you two much joy in your life together. Your videos are a joy to watch. M.V.
