Thanks for uploading these vids man. I've been CRAVING a sailing title for a LONG time now. With nothing in the modern titles I went back to the legendary Sid Meier's Pirates. After conquering that ruthlessly I was still looking for a sailing title. Then you uploaded this game. This game is awesome. Thanks for uploading this man, really entertaining and I'm loving it. If you could have two players per ship it would eliminate the multitasking and make it more realistic. One on guns, one at the helm.

If i may Side strafe, in that ship you really should be completely behind the line of SoLs and let them maneuver without having to worry about you being there. You can move and they can't so stay out of the way till battle closes. I'm sorry to say, but you were very much in the way early on :/. Nice videos though!
TheTreekin Well I didn't make the ship placement that's how we all spawned. I tried to get out of the way before I even started filming and everyone kept pushing closer.
SideStrafe Very true, but in my experience a Frig or a small ship can sail a little faster than the SoLs so it is actually ok to completly stop and let them pass and then get on the other side. Even with those guys coming up behind, it looked like at least a couple of them where Victories, and those are very slow ships, so they never would have caught you. But that's just my 2 cents and honestly it's not hugely important at the beginning. Great job on surviving to the end!
Hal Swann I'm pretty sure I covered the whole I'm NEW to naval games in the last five videos I made.
Hal Swann after all this is still a game for ALL initially and not a military procedure so give the starters time to find their way into the gameplay... btw no harm done by Sidestrafe here and he was spawned into the pack so what´s the fuzz about.
I'm not saying Side was _that_ disruptive here, and he did pay enough attention not to ram them, but imagine you're in a massive ship, very slow to maneuver and there's a bunch of smaller ships forcing you to take evasive action, making you a target for the enemy and disrupting a battle plan, that is to form a line of your large ships and put successive broadsides on one enemy thus focusing them down. So yes, it's for all, even the more experienced players who are taking damage and having a frustrating time because others are learning their role.
Stormy weather sounds great, but you know what I really want to see? Power rooms exploding, like ammo racks in WT but....With these really big ass ships...Damnn.

This game has so much potential. I am going to be watching it like a hawk. I hope they can really put it to the grind stone and start moving into the open world aspect, I would definitely buy the alpha then! Do they have an expected release date?

Also, do you feel like the damage modeling and output is realistic? Would you change anything about how the cannons performed in game?
No The Other Left Well they are actually planning a huge damage model update, so a lot will change. Beyond that I'm not much of a ship expert so I can't really say what it's supposed to be.
As a frigate without the ability to do much damage to first-rates and second-rates, why not concentrate on destroying their sails?

are u guys using teamspeak during these battles like in pirates of the burning sea? and ofcourse people arfe paying attention as u have a ship with few cannons u have to make way for the bigger ships,,,, stratagy lesson 1 in line combat but looks like an epic game cant wait till i can play it

Beautiful battle. About you ship being between two bigger ons, aren't you supposed to avoid their line of fire, since they must be better at the longer distances? So if you want to overtake them in the line of ships, wouldn't you do that to their right/starbored side? :-)

He sidestrafe, i like your videos because you keep making them informative. I like to know what your thoughts are about the performance of the 75 mm gun on the panther ausf D/A/G. I feel like it is underperforming inparticular with the AP rounds. Since the A and G have a BR 6 it's a real struggle in simulator battles. You keep getting matched against 6.7 and 7.
epgmw I'd ask these questions during WT videos. You'll get answers from more people too. As far as we know German 75mm was nerfed awhile ago. No idea if they are going to fix it. Thanks for the compliment!

Is there "Man O' War" in the game? Some of the biggest ship in the game kinda looked like it.

This looks like a cool game but how authentic is it for example Nelson trained his sailor's better then the franch and therefore had a better rate of fire, also Nelson changed tactics he didn't line up and take shots at each other like was custom at the time he turned and sailed at the franch making his ships harder to hit. Remember at the battle of trafalgar Nelson took 13 ships and was the biggest naval victory in history before or since and laid the way for the British to rules the waves for hundreds of years after so I feel authenticity in games like this is very important.
Anyone know when this fully releases? I looked at their site, and the open world concept sounds incredible! Genuinely interested in this, I don't really believe in entering paid Aloha tests, unfortunately. If the price drops, I may cave.
I don't think they have an ETA yet. Since they're independent and not bound to a publisher they can decide when to release. Since it's so early in development, I don't expect them to give any release dates yet, unless they'd be sure they'd gonna make it ;)

David Hovrud They will email you a key, I believe they send them out every Friday. You then input that into Steam.

David Hovrud I got my key yesterday, but yeah. They will send you a Steam key, then when you got it you just click at the top "Games" -> "Activate a product on Steam" or bottom left corner "+ Add a game" and you will download and install the game from there.
